That is a beautiful lake /pond an amazing job can’t imagine your customer could not be thrilled! Amazing! Please do a drone shot when it gets greened up,beautiful!
Great explanation about tracking it in, in the direction that you do. I never thought about how the grooves would help hold the grass seed from running down the hill with the rain. Smart!
That may or may not involve trespassing for some jobs and might not be an option, depending on property and owner. Even when it's technically alright people tend to appreciate being asked and giving consent about that before.
@@dennisb6145 Yes I agree with that :) There have been some great projects over the years. Probably half of them he could go back and sell a dredging contract to by now! haha
Looks awesome, Chris and Timmy !!!! What a difference from the first video last summer when you showed your first drive through....all forest. Good idea to leave it somewhat shallow of the beach area. The back slope of the dame looks especially nice.
Awesome job! The owners are some lucky people to have acquired such a nice piece of land and then had the good fortune to find your company to do this great job. I'd love to have a property like that. I think I'd have gone bigger, more lake than pond....lol. Thanks for the wonderful series of videos.
This is my favorite of your dam construction projects so far. Used to be the 3 acres one from a few years back. Out of curiosity, without the road that cuts through the middle, how much a project like that cost? magnificent work Chris.
Dam....................does that look good!! The home owner it gonna be really happy. Thanks for what you do and sharing it. I surely enjoy watching it. Stay safe.
Wow !! Great job Chris !!, Can't even imagine how Beautiful that place is gonna be when House, beach , bridge, and all is done. If i was spending that kinda money , I would put some kind of Tower out in the lake on the beach part to jump and dive off and all.... again Great Job !!!
Quality finish this is going to look great when it is completed. Be sure to get drone footage when the Bridge goes in and all work is completed Chris. 😉👌🏼
No rock on the Spillway? This looks so good from where you started. I kinda had a minds eye of what you were describing back early on. Can't wait to see the road cut with a bridge so boat can transition from upper end to dam side. If I was the owner I would have added some fish sanctuaries, tires, logs tied down, some sort of structure for fish habitat. Hey Chris, What about the bazillion loads of sludge y'all hauled up on the hill? You have to spread it out?
So nice. Bet I'm not the only one wondering how much that cost. Hopefully see it in later stages. Love your work, especially your methodology. Doubt I would have thought about the tacking to put the vertical lines in the slope to help with seeding and erosion. Thanks for sharing.
Will you be using any rip rap in the spillway to slow down any overflow or just relying on the grass?? Also I commented a while back on putting fabric under the sand to keep it from sinking into the mud any thought on that?? Thanks love the vids.
Chris is it worth investing in a Trimble system, you seem to be grading most of the time. Just wondering, love your videos, watching you I’ve gotten better using my CK30 Kioti with a backhoe. Can’t do as much as your equipment but I’m going to keep watching and try to get more detail on using both hands together. Thanks
Your usual excellent finish work..... Have a question. Would a small farm tractor with a say 12 foot land leveler do a better job on large areas? Seems like a lot on the skid steer.
Question...(I may have missed it) in the very beginning of the project, all the loads brought up by the haul truck where y'all typically park the work trucks and machines at the end of the day..the massive winrows, what ever became of that? Spread out for a lift like planned?
I would have thought you would just go ahead and spread sand down on it now to about 6 feet below the water line; does it wash out that bad? Even if it fills quick? Hard to believe and nice to see a project you have worked on for 8-9 months all finished but the grass seed. Are y'all putting that in or hydroseeding the whole thing?
Best job I've seen you do yet looks great. I think I would try to talk the owner into letting you put some large # 1 stone, rip rap 4 inches or even a little larger from Lake start to the bottom of the spillway, I'm thinking you guys get a hurricane from time to time that area. Love your work, Chris.
The way Tim was standing at the start looks like he may have worked for the county or the state at one time that's the way you always see them standing on the sides of the road
How much of a sideways slop can you run in that dozer with out tipping over? It seems you can run that at a pretty good angle safely I was just currious if theres a rating or a guage in side to tell you?
A dozer normaly wouden't tip over but just begin sliding, because the wight center is somewhere in track hight. A gauge is rarely seen in dozers but when then it's more for the operator to hold a given angle, not to alert about tiping danger.
Nice pond you built. Now for a nagging question I have. Why don't you have some sort of laser grade systems on your excavator? Something like trimble? Wouldn't it be a time saver? 😎😎🤔🤔🤔
Tom you should watch some of Chris’s videos on digging basements somehow he can see grade like no other I’ve worked with. Built into his genetic makeup for the amount that he uses a laser , grade assist would be a waste. If you put a machine and operator side by side with grade assist against Chris without by the time the grade assist was all set up Chris would be halfway done with the task he’s just that good
my grandfather lives in a subdivision / community pond / lake. they have a spillway that they’ve had to put concrete down to keep the dirt from washing away. My question is why only dirt? Why not put down concrete as a extra barrier to keep the levee from washing away? I know the overflow pipe you said should be big enough. But you never know what mother nature will throw at you.
I was beginning to wonder if this was an actual Letsdig18 video until I saw the reflection of the Bojangles cup in the window. Haven't seen a single video without one. Why ain't the supporting the channel?
That is a beautiful lake /pond an amazing job can’t imagine your customer could not be thrilled! Amazing! Please do a drone shot when it gets greened up,beautiful!
This has been my favorite job of all. Looked forward to each evening, seeing what all you all got done.
Looks like that lake is going to be really beautiful, great job Chris!
Great explanation about tracking it in, in the direction that you do. I never thought about how the grooves would help hold the grass seed from running down the hill with the rain. Smart!
Great video series on this pond building. Finishing the dam with the cleats to hold the grass seed is top shelf.
Nothing like standing and looking at what skills and experience can accomplish. Hell of a project , damn good job !
You should go back to some of your ponds you done and show us what it looks like when full
That’s what I hope he does I would love to see that pond months from now with grass and full of water
That may or may not involve trespassing for some jobs and might not be an option, depending on property and owner. Even when it's technically alright people tend to appreciate being asked and giving consent about that before.
@@2xKTfc true. If owner allows him it will be good to see.

Yes I add my support to this comment
Impressive project no two ways about it. It'll be nice if you are involved with cutting out the road for the bridge.
Gotta love it when a plan comes together very nice job 😎👍👍
Enjoyed all the videos of this big pond build bro, will look a real picture post card once the bridge goes in.
Looks awesome, Chris and Timmy !!!! What a difference from the first video last summer when you showed your first drive through....all forest. Good idea to leave it somewhat shallow of the beach area. The back slope of the dame looks especially nice.
Absolute work of art. Would love to see what it looks like today its probably breathtaking. Congratulations what a project to have on your portfolio.
Awesome job! The owners are some lucky people to have acquired such a nice piece of land and then had the good fortune to find your company to do this great job. I'd love to have a property like that. I think I'd have gone bigger, more lake than pond....lol.

Nice work!! Moved a hell of alot of dirt!!
Mad smoothing skills - great video!
Great progress! Getting close to wrapping this job up!
Nice job Chris and Tim. 👍👍👍👍👍

Going to be a great spot for the owners. In awe of your talent.
You guys did a beautiful job, can't wait to see it all grassed up with the bridge.

Good job, I would love to see it after the summer, see how it has changed
I can't believe 2-3(you, Tim & your uncle) guys did most of this. It looks fantastic!
Another great pond build
Awesome job on the big pond project!!
Quality finish this is going to look great when it is completed.
Be sure to get drone footage when the Bridge goes in and all work is completed Chris.
😉👌🏼
that looks very nice will look amazing when its done
Your drone shots would be great looking at your past ponds/lakes you and your crew have built.
Please show when the pond is full and the water has cleared up. Great looking pond! Thanks for the video.
That is a pretty lake you have built the owner should be proud.
Can we get a drone flyover of the finished pond?
been a fun project to watch and see progress, thanks for that
Like an extension of his hand.
Looks good. Fine grading job

you are one of the most impressive operator
Chris very impressive 👍
Need to come back this summer and check it out.
Great job... and another great video....
Love that big pond, work I wont one too .

When you put in these ponds are any permits or inspections required?
Will you be using any rip rap in the spillway to slow down any overflow or just relying on the grass?? Also I commented a while back on putting fabric under the sand to keep it from sinking into the mud any thought on that?? Thanks love the vids.
Water may never touch it. It`s a over flow only.
Water may never touch it but if and or when it does there would have been enough rain that you definitely don’t want that overflow to wash out...
Almost 200,000. Wow. I here a sweatshirt giveaway coming??
Someone has a LOT of money. Really wish I could afford to do something that looks half that good.
You need another job like that I always liked having a big job plus the small ones
I think all videos need to be narrated while tracking in. Adds a bit of fun to it!

What kind of permits does a big job like this need?
If it wasn't needed for fire trucks what a nice spot for an old style covered bridge.
Noah's Ark amount of rain that's hilarious.
Hi Chris, great videos, your expertise is clear. Question: would not this have been the best time cut in for a boat ramp?
That's dam impressive.
No pun intended.
i hope you show us this one when its full for sure

Finally... a nice sunny day! You reckon Justin worked today? Or just sat on the log and admired the new Volvo?😁
Nice work

Haven't spread it yet
Its a lot of dirty work but chris"s voice gets your undivided attention if i may say so myself
A 'fine finish'!
Looks good
When’s the big rowboat tunnel/bridge going in?
It's definitely not taking long to fill up for sure.
It is sure gonna be nice! Will the sand go in before or after it fills completely up?
Dam(n) good job!

good job be nice when full from new York
like how you use the bucket to fatten / level out on final pass (smile )
The way Tim was standing at the start looks like he may have worked for the county or the state at one time that's the way you always see them standing on the sides of the road
On the other hand, as long Chris does his job right there almost is nothing to do for Tim :-)
@@oz1vlh come on it was a dam joke
I know you glad that job is in the short rows now

It should have filled up a good bit with the amount of rain we had Tuesday.
I've got to laugh at all of the guys that thought it would take forever to fill up :-)
I knew it wouldn't take near as long as most people thought but it's filling up more quickly than even I was thinking.
Nice pond you built. Now for a nagging question I have. Why don't you have some sort of laser grade systems on your excavator? Something like trimble? Wouldn't it be a time saver? 😎😎🤔🤔🤔
Cost too much and clearing would rip all those expensive sensors off the stick
Chris has a fantastic eye level

I can keep up with you on a excavator But hands down I can't hold a candle to your doze work
Any idea on how long the muddy water will settle and become clearer?

Maybe gravel should be put on the bottom of the pool so it will not be so muddy !
Looks good. How much water will it hold? Estimated cubic feet. It will be a beautiful spot when finished.
Very nice
One unanswered question remains: Will they ever find the full bucket of grout?
Someone fishing! Lol
Will that be considered a public waterway now?
They difinitly can make it to a water fun land for the summer time. :-)
Is this the one that's going to get a bridge later on?
Yup.
How big is the overflow pipe?
Impressive
How much does a pond like that cost???
Another job bites the dust lol
I like Tim's belly jacket, did he get it at 1984?
I'm just jealous my jacket won't ride up like that because of my pot belly
how much acreage does the pond have
Thank you for taking the time to share!! Why didn’t you put the sand in for the beach before you filled it in?
