Thanks a lot! As you might have seen I have thought about it and discussed it in a previous video. I haven't changed my mind. I'm keeping my dash factory. ... Or will I?
Thanks for watching! I'm from Switzerland, I'm mentioning it in this video. 🇨🇭😄 Check out the other 28 episodes of the series, you might find some more useful information. 😊
Hey where's our engine, transmission and rear differential rebuilds? Just kidding. Was hoping to see YOUR KITT dash install but that's ok. Best wishes. You should NEVER support a vehicle from the oil pans or transmission pans. Please use the jacking points. The drainpans were not designed to support the weight of the vehicle.
Still no KITT dash. I stand by what I explained in episode 21. Well, I didn't support the whole car from the oil pan, I just lifted the engine. I do get that it's not ideal, but there are no jacking points on this engine, only two lifting brackets on the top. I do have an engine bridge, not a hoist, but I figured that would be more dangerous for me because it can slightly tilt sideways. This would have made it a lot more dangerous for me, if it suddenly tilted while I had my hands in between the engine and the cross member. With the motorcycle stand, I ran a much smaller risk of injuring myself. If you use something soft like a big piece of rubber or a wooden block wrapped in a rag like it did, it's fine. Of course I only lifted it as high as necessary and back down.
