Too late, I was wasting stardust left and right the first few days, now Im living from stardust paycheck to paycheck.

The dumbest thing about Stardust (besides the fact that it exists) is that the amount that you get from catching a Pokemon doesn't scale to your trainer level. So the amount that you get as a level 1 trainer from a CP15 Pidgey is the same as what you get as a level 17 trainer from a CP350 Pidgey. That's absurd. One of the many things Niantic needs to address soon.

They could also help this out by giving you Stardust as a reward for beating and training at gyms. That would make battling feel a little more meaningful to the leveling up of your Pokemon. I know they give you some for the defender bonus, but I would rather it be given to you based on defeating or training at a gym, and just have the coins be the reward for defending.
he has a point lower lvl pokemon require less stardust to upgrade so when your higher lvlv shoudlnt you get more stardust because it requires more stardust to upgrade your pokemon so that its balanced

My advice is to only use CP on Pokemon with their best moveset. For example, if you have a 1000CP Vaporeon with Water Gun and Aqua Tail, I would level up that Vaporeon up to max over a 1200CP Vaporeon with Water Gun and Water Pulse. That 1000CP Vaporeon is 100 times more valuable and has more potential than the 1200CP Vaporeon.

Is there a max amount of cp that a Pokemon can have? A point where, no matter what level you are, you can't level up any more?
I caught a aerodactyle of cp 250 i know its rare so i can't find any other of them so and i have only 3 candy of aerodactyle so what should i do to power him up and increase his cp.
Wait so once it hits that max CP level is that it for powering up the pokemon? Or is it once you increase your trainer level will you be able to power it up again?
You have to level up your trainer before you can further upgrade the pokemon at that point.

that's why he said don't bother leveling up those low leveled pokemon.
Wait what does that rainbow bar mean?
don't use stardust until level 30, that's when you hit the cp cap on pokemon you hatch or encounter. anything before a waste since you'll encounter stronger pokemon as you level up. you'll end up transferring whatever is your strongest anyway.

Eh, even level 10 is a bit low for using stardust. At that point you can still level up pretty fast, which means you'll likely just catch a replacement that's better than the one you powered up.

IGN You really should talk about the IV calculator, it is a big part of powering up. For the love of pokemon, do your research and talk about more hidden features instead of repeating obvious stuff anyone who has been playing since the AUS release knows about, it might actually help the community.
its simple, save stardust for those extra rare pokemon that you will barely see in the wild!

I'm level 21, half way to 22, and I have a couple maxed CP pokemon...so I'm wondering if I should use stardust on them as I continue to level 22, 23, etc...to keep them at max CP as I go along?

if you think those pokemon will be part of your final 6 pokemon when you hit lv30 then you can surely do that but if their moveset is good. find another pokemon if the moves are not good.

Nope. Only way to evolve Pokemon is with their specific candy. Stardust is only used for powering up. And no, the CP bar has nothing to do with evolution. That's just the Pokemon's overall strength.

No but Id rather have the option to use less candies and some amount of stardust to evolve. I've caught 16 magikarps but getting to 400 candies is really challenging

It's really fun now that there's been a dozen updates. Rarely ever glitches. Gyms make more sense. You should give it a second chance.
