A good idea would be instead of saving the search function is to use the search function to filter and save the pokemon in tags since tags have no limit
4:57 To exclude certain Pokémon from a search, you just have to add an exclamation point before the tag, like this "!xxxxx" (replace the "x" by what you want to exclude). For exemple, "cp-1500&age0-90&!Legendary&!Mythical&!Shadow", this will show all Pokémon AT 1500 CP or below, caught in the last 90 days, BUT exclude any Legendary, Mythical or Shadow from the result.
A few pointers: • "Mark pokémon to not delete" could be expanded in next video to "how to use tags effectively" because the power of negating a tag name (or even tag prefix if you group similar tags with one) is incredible to exclude important pokémon from being deleted. • Pokémon left for trades: distance, mirrors, etc. • How to combine all the aforementioned stuff (in your vid and here) with keeping actual collections in your bag. • How to set up keyboard autocomplete on both iOS and Android to actually be able to use more than 12 saved searches
So glad you posted about this. With GoFest coming up, I’ve been clearing out storage. If anyone out there plans to be playing the full eight hours on one or both days, you’re going to want room to catch at least 1000 mon in a single day without having to stop and transfer.
I have a similar strategy to this, where I tag all Pokémon that I’m keeping according to their use, then make a search thread showing all Pokémon without those tags. It takes a little while to start it, but it’s so easy to get rid of unneeded Pokémon once it’s in place.
If I could make a suggestion, since you can only save 12 searches, you could condense all the meta Pokémon into one search thread, after which you could periodically tag them all as “meta” then search meta&’type’ to refine the search. I might do this by hand, but would be a good add to your sheet! Great vid
i tried doing that by hand, but somehow it didnt work for me. even when i try to combine 2 elements' filters, PoGo showed 0 Options. Idk what i did wrong
Thanks! This is awesome and really helpful. I didn't know that you can save filters. Here's another tip for iOS users: you can save the search string by using keyboard shortcuts. To do this, go to Settings->General->Keyboard->Text Replacement. There, you can add a shortcut with the full search string, and when searching on the app, simply use the shortcut. I think Android may have a similar function as well.
wow one of my favorite videos by far. Was looking for a easier way to transfer. Thanks for taking the time for a very useful video. Can't wait to free up some storage for go fest!!
It’s also important to me to save all Pokémon that I want to trade an get XL candy for during seasons like this season. I did regret transferring some of my legendaries before when I could be trading them for guaranteed XLs right now. I save all snorlaxs, stunfisks, and excadrills as well; I’m working on maxing them out currently. I saved most of my axew too, making sure I trade all of them as well.
Of all the videos you've done, two of them have changed my pokemon go experience in a massive way. The first was the auto-trade in bulk tip which has been massively useful to say the least. After a quick use of these search threads, I have zero doubt that this video will be another of these game-changing marvels. Thank you so much for the great work!!
with the limit of 12 saved, most phone keyboards allow you to save in your clipboard, so you can have all of them saved in your clipboard history and then just tap the clipboard button to find them later
I'm a total hoarder with pokemon. I have to go through every month and force myself to let some go even though I have a quick search that I use to clear out daily.
Your videos on Pokemon storage management are always so helpful and timely! I'm always sitting around my max storage limit so I welcome any tips to easily to keep everything organized!
I have 5,450 Pokemon storage... Played a ton 2019-2021, and getting into optimizing for PVP, having to lookup the metas, then scan them for optimal IVs... So, instead I'd sit on them and let them take up massive storage space... Is what caused me to mostly quit for ~2 years or so. Just got back into it and I'm so overwhelmed trying to delete more than half my mons, but tags, saveable search strings, and your tips here help so much so thank you. Hopefully this is kind-of a one-time thing, then I'll try to stay on top of it better.
you can restrict cp by adding it in the end. ie: 379, 618, 560, 308, 279, 164, 709, 260&League CP. Great League (&CP-1500) Ultra League (&CP-2500). If you want to restrict Master League to Pokemon with CP over 2500 (&CP2500-). When searching cp, age or anything like that, putting the minus sign before means below and the minus sign after means above. For the mega and primal relevent pokemon and exclude shadow pokemon, include (&!shadow) at the end of the thread.
I really like theese type of videos, but what I’m missing most is a complete guide for shadows: I mean, which are the best to keeps looking at different ivs, for example a shadow tyranitar 15-14-4 could be good to keep since it has high attack and defense for raids, but also a shadow sneasel 13-13-14 could be kept not purified even though it has not 15 attack. But I miss this for other pokemon like electabuzz or swinub and so on. Sorry for the long comment, I hope I was clear since my English is not well trained
In order to filter out 1500+ for great league type &!cp1501- At the end and it will only show 1500 and below. For ultra league type &!2501- For 2500 and below.
Worked for me, ur Goated! Also make sure for the M.L. it's 374-376 not 377-379. 377-379 is the regi's not the metagross family, hope this help you as well!
If you’re like me you’ve already favorited a bunch of stuff that isn’t included in these search strings. What I’ve done is searched with the strings, select all, make tag META and tag all selected with it. Then I do a search that has the !meta to remove all the metas, then I unfavorite everything listed.
Alternative - This method can also be added into the search threads, which makes the search threads way more safe. Since none of these search terms work when you actually want to keep PVP pokemon (why? Because "meta relevance" means nothing in pvp, so the list is kinda useless. The search thread also assumes that you are only running quite perfect IV pokemon... which no one does.) : Do a purge once. Transfer ALL pokemon you dont want to keep: tagg them all with something. I called mine "purge survivors" or short "ps". Congrats from here on out you never have to look at the pokemon you tagged ever again. When you notice your storage is getting full, search for "!ps" or however you called your tag. ! means not, so it displays all pokemon not in the tag. From here on out you can blindly transfer whatever you caught, or look if what you caught is better then what you had, if not: transfer. Fast catch method, no problem. All newly caught pokemon are untagged. I keep the highest IV pokemon, a little cup, great and ultra league version of everything - no search string ever helped me, but this? This is the only way to do it without running the risk of accidentally transfering that #1 Marril you caught and didnt evolve yet.
Another helpful tip for search threads that i do is by adding “!#” which filters out pokemon you have tagged so if you have tags for pvp pokemon, Nundos, pokemon that you caught in special places and dont want to lose, ect. You can filter those out of the delete threads without having to look at each pokemon for sentimental/pvp value 😁
3:26 If you start with "cp-1500&" or end with "&cp-1500", only Pokémon with CP 1500 or below will show up. Same with any other CP like "cp-2500&" and "cp-500&"
This is super helpful, but we must also consider the fact that the 'meta' can change any season. 1 move update might make today's non-meta pokemon into a meta pokemon in the next season. I always try to keep the mons with good PvP IV's in the storage even if they are non-meta today. EDIT: I see you already pointed this out at around 3:50. So thanks for pointing that out!
Appreciate you greatly. Hoping for a search string that will identify pokemon that will not be useful to keep. Maybe will find that in the document. Cheers.
Try save them for 1 year and trade them with someone doing the same after they reach 1 year. If you're organised and play every CD you can trade a CD shiny every day with increased lucky chance.
You should add the &!# (and not #) to your search string to filter out all the pokemon that have _any_ tag on them. That way any pokemon that has already been sorted into a tag won't show up.
Duuuuuuuude this is soooo good i love to have my storage organized and this Takes a while so for you to do all this i know a lot of work went into this Thanks for sharing with us ❤ and keep up the good work daxi
"CP-1500&" in front of your Great League search string will cap CP at 1500 "CP1501-&CP-2500&" in front of Ultra Leage search String will show CP1501-2500 (you can change 1501 to whatever min for UL you need)
Making all these search threads must have taken a lot of hard work. I’m not interested in Meta Relevant Pokémon, but I’m interested in Hundos, Nundos thread & Primal, Mega Thread. Thank You Daxi. You are best PoGo UA-camr.
FYI I was able to successfully combine all of the type search threads together so I can save it and it only takes up one space then before I use it to search I can scroll down and pick the type filter prior
This video was a good idea and all but there is a huge factor I think Poke Daxi forgot to add in which is don't transfer pokemon you really care about and have value to you such as pokemon that are your favorite but are not meta. For example, I really like Mudkip but if I had one that was from someone special I wouldn't want to transfer that. I think if you make another video on this at some point at this. Btw I know mudkip is meta but if someones favorite pokemon wasn't meta relevant they might transfer it on accident.
5:01 I think if you add &!Shadow it won't show you shadows, but I'm not sure. Also, if someone wants to find good PvP mons, I use this to find them: 0attack,1attack&3defense,4defense&3hp,4hp&cp-2500&!smeargle&!ditto Edit: I just changed it to what I think is a better version: 2-4hp&3-4defense&0-1attack,2-4defense&3-4hp&0-1attack&cp-2500&!ditto&!smeargle
This is is INSANELY helpful. Thank you. Truly. Quick Question about the Grass filter…I am getting Tyranitar evol line. 246-247-248 are the 3 evolutions and I see they are in the 242-254 range. Those are basically the legendaries + T-Tar line, oh and Blissey (teehee) from Johto. What is this supposed to filter for grass??
You could add to those formulas the CP limits on the League's and you could also filter out the Shadows on the mega list. If someone hasn't told you them yet comment back and I can post them for you but they are pretty readily available. I manage my own Excel document that tracks everything in the game and I've been doing that for seven years now so the filters are incredibly helpful for me. If you have questions, let me know.
Appreciate the video! Just found your channel and I’m really diggin the content! I’m out in the middle of nowhere so about the only thing I can do anymore is catch Pokémon 💀
You can add cp10-1500 or cp10-2500 to the search to filter out non Great or Ultra League cps. I found it out when a research required beating a 3* raid with Ultra League pokemon
There is an Error in the Master League thread. "377-379" is the Regi's not the Metagross family. "374-376" is the Metagross family Very Helpful vid thank you! ❤
I prefer to keep the Pokémon that I consider strong, at my current level, and ones that have an evolution that I need to get. In case you’re wondering, that level is 30 (almost to 31) and the CP minimum is 1500
My biggest tip is just having an extensive tag system so that basically everything you want to keep has a tag and everything else is favourited and then just !# and bam
Here are 2 tips: #1 If you want to limit the cp of Pokémon for PVP, or in general. For example, you could put &cp-1500 for Great League and &cp-2500 for the Ultra League. #2 For filtering out Shadow Pokémon for the Mega Pokémon, you could do &!shadow or &!@frustration
long press on a 'recent' search - click on the 'see more' link in the search screen, then you see a list of recent searches at the top. long press on a recent search and it will be favorited
I find it so much easier to just keep up with cleaning storage in realtime. About once per week, more or less depending on how much I’m catching, I just go through the most recent. Transfer junk, label to transfer later those I want 2x candy for, maybe label anything special that for GBL and that’s it. It’s so much more manageable to do it regularly.
A good idea would be instead of saving the search function is to use the search function to filter and save the pokemon in tags since tags have no limit
The only problem with that is you have to copy the search again and update the tag before every mass trade/transfer
If you add !# to any search thread it will filter out any and all pokemon you have tagged which helps me immensely!
Tags do have a limit of 100, but I get what you mean. Good tip!
@@levionlife oh i did not know this. really helps as i have many tags!

At least for Apple devices, you can also use a "text replacement" instead of saving a search in the game

This may be the single greatest pogo video of all time
@Poké Daxi One Recommendation I would say is for the mega search thread instead of keeping shadow pokemon in it use !shadow to get rid of them!!!
Me: This seems like a useful code to use
*0 Results*
Me: I guess im transferring all my pokemon
This is great, thanks again for a new search method ✨
Need an irl guide on how this guy is pumping out so much content, must be organized af
Bro!! Ridiculously useful!! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH 🎊
This is super helpful, thank you.
Unfortunately, this just sheds light on how little meta-relevant pokemon I have lol
Hey man, can I ask when was the last time the list was updated
Make sure you don't have the show evolutions checkbox picked. Otherwise the search doesn't work like it should.
This is fantastic. Great work and thank you!
Great idea! Quick thing I noticed though is that the grass search has larvitar in there
Also, how do you favorite search strings in Pokémon Go? 0:53
long press on a 'recent' search - click on the 'see more' link in the search screen, then you see a list of recent searches at the top. long press on a recent search and it will be favorited
go to "See more" and on recent searches, hold it down
Thank you all!!
I literally clean after every session. I get way too anxious if I have too many recent catches that I haven't gone through!
Super helpful! Great vid as always
damm, big props for creating an entire sheet
i love you PokeDaxy, good job 💪💪💪💪
Oh there's a third reason... I'm a hoarder who doesn't trust that a pokemon will remain irrelevant
I sooooo needed this! Thanks for such a helpful video!
4:58 You could just add "&! shadow" at the end
Thank you!!! Been taking ages looking at all my Pokémon to find best ones etc
The Great league PVP search thread all you need to do is add at the start 'cp-1500&' then it will show only the pokemon under 1500cp
This dont repair my Collection issue
Niantic just must give us more space, but still its nice idea to have Tags
I remember your other one of these and honestly it was a game changer for me so let’s go with this one..
..as we’ve all come to expect an amazing vid for tips thank you pal!
