Except you're screwing up your own driving record, putting yourself at risk as you've already seen from your job literally putting a metal rod in your back. You're driving up your insurance rates, and previously you were using you OWN car for Door Dash or Uber Eats or whatever? That's how you depreciate a car fast enough to owe $22,000 on a $7,000 vehicle.

Amazon has a PHENOMENAL tuition payment system set up for employees, and it applies to a WIDE variety of majors, including transportation/logistics, which he says he likes. However, when he said he wants to do what his boss does and own a fleet of vans and get big contracts, it sounds to me like he does NOT work directly for Amazon, but works for an Amazon contractor - entirely different animal. If he loves driving, he should look into UPS. My regular UPS route driver makes more than 80K per year and says he has great insurance and other benefits ... but he's been driving for like 20 years now.

I took a job with a small social care company, took all the training i could and got promoted twice. my friend at school worked weekends while in high school, didn't know what he wanted to do, so he just stuck with his job in a fashion chain. 30 years later, he's a regional manager for that same chain. There are so many IT jobs out there with high earning potential, look into cloud hosting (Microsoft Azure, AWS are examples). When I started in this field 5 years ago my starting salary was $45,000 and worked my way up. College is overrated! I will easily be in the $100k-150k range in the next 2 years. I was working a dead end retail making like $25,000 per year before I made this move. Also these jobs allow you to work from home a lot which can be convenient for some.
