I used this as a starting point and i must say...it sounds good with Ml drums, ezdrummer 3 and slate drums 5 with some tweaking to dial it in for each kit. REALLY sounds rad with the ML yamz... Thanks alot! It really got me my own flavour of drums for all software i use. Bangs on each one!
Great demo track as always Jon! I picked these drums up a few days ago and really dig them. Natural but mix-friendly enough out of the box to jump right in.
That's what I get from these videos on his channel. His production is on another level sonically in my opinion. It's perfect, the drums and low end, and the guitars. Everything is just fantastic. My ears learn so much from his videos.
Thanks a TON for taking the time for this!! I've been using ML for several months and have all the packs as well(EZD3 is kind of useless at this point). Seeing your processing helps greatly. Appreciate your tones and effort on ALL instruments. 🤘
Bad choice of words on my part. I DO use the grid editor to write/structure and THEN output the midi files to Reaper. I then use ML for all my sounds. No longer use Ez for a sound source. @@MahmoudNader
Dude that mix sounds fucking insane, the snare, the room and overall the shells sounds amazing. This was way over my expectatives because the demos on the original page sounds boring and not punchy. PLUS, the tuning selecction for the snare its a very powerful option, very underrated, didnt see that coming. Definitely insane sounds for the price. Buying the Luxe and Meld expansions asap
This is the reality will all drum plugins I found, the secret sauce is in the processing of the drums in your DAW, and not about which plugin you buy. They all sound dull out of the box.
@@stiman1 yeah for a product demo a good mix is a great way to show what the drum recording is capable of. I really though that was recorded on a small room but it sounds like its a bigger room than i expected. Also i think i kept the first impression of the Standard pack, thats my fault. The two new expansions are a really good adition.
Great information! What I would also really love to see is a tutorial how you blend and EQ bass and guitar. For example: at what Hz do you put the highpass filter on the guitars?
Hey, Not familiar with this DAW but it appears you are mixing your kick in stereo at 6:54. Is there a reason why you wouldn’t mix a typical kick in mono for overall girth and weight of the sample?
Thanks for putting this on my radar! Just went out and grabbed the free drum player and bought all the expansions and this is exactly what I was looking for. Plus I love how you can press a button to change the MIDI map to match EZ drummer 3 and other drum programs to use your existing MIDI packs if you have them. Edit: Man I bought all the packs before seeing the discount code at the very end of the video 😂 Oh well, they’re still very worth it, no ragrets
Nice video man appreciate the mix tutorials . I can mix synthwave and synth music fine but my metal mixes suck , i put up a video od axe fx II through a mesa but it sounds so shit i may redo it . Its a pain im happy with my playing and writing but getting the mix sound to the same level still eludes me !!
You should be able to get some great results with the built-in processing. However, I always recommend a good 1176 plugin for SMASHING the drums to bits! :)
Thanks for your great videos. They sound a little squishy and don’t stand out with other drum sample libraries but will definitely check them out closer.
You can always try the free version to see if you like them. A couple of things that do make them stand out is 1. The price 2. The ease of use and 3. The real tuning options in the snares
I was wondering why did you stop posting videos just to realize that UA-cam stopped showing them to me... I was still subscribed, but you nust went Rogue to me. Good I checked.
Thank you so much for the kind words and amazing demos as always! 😍
Keep on rockin'!
I follow this to the teeth for the Fotis Benardo drums, and it made a huge difference. The kit sounds so much more alive and in your face.
Thanks man!
Thank you so much man ! You can't imagine how much it could help :)
And ML Drums definitely are awesome :)

Finally! Yes, you have made the video I've been asking for for months. Your productions are music class for my ears. Yes! Thank you much SDS!
Great demo track as always Jon! I picked these drums up a few days ago and really dig them. Natural but mix-friendly enough out of the box to jump right in.
Such a useful and interesting video again. Widening the scope of music production much appreciated as well.
Cheers!

Honestly EZD3 isn't useless at all ... However ML drums sounds the best to me as well

I like how they have the zero preset to do your own mix and use your own plugins. Perfect for me since i am learning how to do this.
Been on EZ drummer 2 for a long time, might have to check this out. Also that Schecter apocalypse looks sick.

I've thought these drums have always sounded great! Among the best, just based on the original demos! This guy took them to the next level though :D
Ive been wanting a Schecter (basically a new heavy guitar) and god that E1 sounds good.
And to think that there's a very nice alternative to Toontrack but I didn't know. Sounds really good.

YEEEES, was waiting for this! Thanks!
I hope you enjoy it!
Mu daughter has been playing drums for 3 years i'm trying to find how to connect her drumset to my daw. I just downloaded ML's soundlab plugin .
Nice video, great sounding mix man 🤘
Cheers!
Is it possible to reach similar results with the onboard mixer of the plugin?

Jon, thanks so much for this! One question: do you also add some mastering/pre-mastering to your full mixes, such as with Ozone or Abbey Road TG?
I like how in the first clip he's repping the spiderman shirt and then the demo kicks in and he's got the batman shirt on.
Love both universes!

Do have have slate all access? If so, worth it?
What do you use to make the drum tracks? Just the „piano roll“ or something like ez drummer?
The Cubase drum editor
Drums hit velocity tutorial please)))
All at 127 ;)
@@SonicDriveStudiolol, how come? but sounds good though!
@spanneng just kidding but the humanize tips in this video should already make a big difference

Hmmm strange! Clicking the bell should help
