Mr Nobody my personal sense of loss at not having attended football in the 80s is about as much as the miners who lost their jobs in the 80s had for Maggie Thatcher when she died. Anyway this film just goes to prove the psychological make up of a large section of football supporters in Britain. They are for the most part Apes.
I noticed the similarity too, but I don't think that's enough to call it an imitation because it seems a plausible enough kind of 'wind-up' (with an undertone of menace) for it to occur pretty much anywhere where you've got gangs of violent chaps and a hierarchy.
I have to say that this part of the movie is absolutely brilliant I like the way that guy controls the whole thing and doesn't messaround and keeps everyone under control before the pub fight outside and then Danny Dyer throws in the smoke grenade and they all come out of the pub and then they have that big scrap I think that this scene is absolutely fantastic and one of my favourite scenes in the whole movie.
Never get sick of this movie! Love it!! I could wax poetic and rhapsodize about this brutal and bad-ass masterpiece from now till I turn 90, that's how mesmerized and inspired I feel! This movie is as near perfection as any movie can be, and IMHO it's the best British gang oriented movie of the emerging 21st century, and one of the finest of all time, right up there alongside ""The Long Good Friday"" and ""Snatch (Snatch was unparalleled in its originality, hilarious dialogue, experimental and cutting edge filming techniques, in its various and intricately inter-connected sub plots, in its brilliant soundtrack and in its hyper-kinetic pace)."" For Football Factory is this gritty, realistic and hilarious depiction of how it really is to be one of the ""Boys."" England truly kicks ass!!
@@JC-ip8ur Yep. Its so well layered, portraits hooligan culture in an extremely realistic manner while dealing with Tommy's inner doubts and fears, while also being fun, whats not to love ? Real football hooligan fight = jump up & down on the spot with arms open, run at them but immediately run away without making contact, jump up and down on spot again with arms open, run at them but immediately run away without making contact, jump up and down on spot again, make scary face, pick up a chair or a sign board, throw it 2 yards, jump up and down on spot with open arms making scary face, disperse.
