I know that I usually go through 1-2 burnouts a year generally speaking and that's why I've made sure my collection can take on a bout of deppresion lol. 3 years in and I know which plants are tough as nails. Then for the plants that arent, I have them in self watering containors or semi-hydro so they can last just as long as my soil plants through the famines. It really does suck when you're sitting there desperately wanting to take care of your plants, but cant bring the energy to do so. That feeling when you look at your favorite and feel nothing also stings like crazy. That feeling when you snap back and it all comes alive though is always so refreshing, that's when my collections get their huge facelifts, the repotting is done, plants moved and re-organized, cuttings taken, cuttings potted up, fertilizing. Then all the plants respond and start growing, omg its the best.
I go thro similar cycles! My collection is pretty curated for drought-tolerance at this point. Some favorite genera are Epipremnum/pothos, Hoya, Cerepegia/SOH, and some Philos! I love the aesthetic and vibe of monsteras but they don’t do well with me with the soil mix I use. I’m looking forward to experimenting with different media this year: leca, spag, and other semi hydro!
Bringing plants to the sink for watering is really nice! Everything can drain. There's no excess water left in the cover pot. No mess of water on shelves and floors etc. I love it. 🙏
Grab a bucket and wire baking shelf I take it around with me pop about 7 small baby's on the at once and water though and the big boys sit on there for a few mins. I love this because I can reuse the fertiliser usually once and then the garden plants get it. Works super well.
Also I regroup the same plants together (Hoyas, Alocasia cactus etc), it makes it easier to check and fun to compare, it makes a nice arrangement per room and or shelves This was a big game changer for me, it truly makes life so much easier Also I take one day a month to repot, I noted while watering the ones that needed a repot so the day vines a have a list and the day goes well Hope all this helps, you’re doing amazing with your videos but your mental health and human relationships are the most important
I use the free version of planta. I have about 200 plants. I customize the frequency of watering my plants so it reminds me to water and I upload notes and pictures when I repot. It also logs when a plant dies. I like it a lot. The worst thing about it is that sometimes if you're searching for an uncommon plant, it can't find it. I'll just log it as something similar. And also I Love this vlog style video! It allows me to hang out with you but also get my chores done. Win/win 🎉💚🌿
Buying a large pop up grow tent is a game changer. Put in a small heater on a thermostat with a 2” base of pebbles and small clip on fan for circulation. It’s turned into a happy self sustaining jungle… way less stress!❤ I liked it so much added a water feature, fairy light and a nice chair. Just noticed two tiny lizards moved in as well.
I saw this suggestion from someone who does gardening outside but thought it might help you create less overwhelm too. She would divide her garden up into say five sections and then assign each section a day. That way, when she is doing her garden maintenance and notices something that needs attention, she doesn’t feel like she has to get to it right at that moment because she knows she will touch it on this specific day. (I was reminded of this when you were talking about going through your entire plant collection each morning with your coffee)
i made a spreadsheet in the apple numbers app sometime in the summer and it’s been life changing!! i’ve gotten insanely detailed with it at this point but it was bc planta never checked all my boxes. it was easier and more fun to do it myself, everything being accessible from all of my stuff so i can work on on it whenever. EXTREMELYYYY helpful
Hi Fern! I love videos when someone is talking about more unpopular plants! Loved your video about pings and got really into them because of it. Also, begonias are fantastic :) Love tthis podcast style of video, I can paint along it with no worried i miss something!
Fern, I love your videos! I look forward to them and I’m glad you touched on this topic today! I’ve been feeling a little underwhelmed with my plants lately and one thing I decided to do instead of bringing in more plants, is to get cute pots for all the one I already have. I feel like giving them a cute home makes me appreciate the plant itself even more!
Hey fern I have over 360 plants, I made an excel sheet, name, date purchased, soil used, date repot, light and watering requirements, comments and so much more info so now I can filter what ever I need, love it As for making your area for soils I use 5 gal bucket with lids, one bucket for each (bark small bark med perlite etc and I also make one bucket each each of my homemade soils(tropical cactus aroid and Hoya) do when I need to repot my soil is already mix’s up, so easy when your in the repot day, I also make 10 moss poles in one sitting so when I need to extend it’s easy Always prepare and it makes work fun and easier I live in Ottawa so I usually make soil and poles while I watch your videos Hope 2024 brings you happiness and good health
The less STRESS the better ! Indoor plants are ment to relax you, and we're all going to be dead soon so we may aswell enjoy them. I use a Paint pen to write info and dates on the plastic pots. Also for photos, you can put them in individual files on your phone. It might help you to get a clip on microphone aswell. Less stress, enjoy them ! ❤💚❤
You truly inspire me!! I am so focusing on what plants bring me joy and happiness. I go into my greenhouse, crank my music and do my plant chores. I am not a fan of what’s popular but what makes me smile. Hoya make me smile sometimes I want every one of them. Lol. Looking forward to the seeing what you do with the new year!! See ya soon. Hugs!!! ❤💚🌿💚
Very thoughtful & thought-provoking video. I have been “ramping up” my collection (aka as buying lots). I’m going to use your template for thinking through my goals, why I enjoy plants, how to keep the joy… Thank you for sharing!
I actually bought my first pinguicula because of you!! I never knew a plant could look so cute while blooming, I fell in love 🥺 Also, would love to see you make some kokedama? They look so cool and artsy 🤩
Hi Fern! Great to see you in 2024 :) I absolutely agree with all the points you mentioned, except one and that is the app. I feel like it takes so much time to log progress of each loved plant and it would just add stress to my plant care. Btw love chatty videos
I’ve been using an app on my phone to keep track of whatever happen to my plants for about a year now and it’s is definitely a life saver!! You have much more plants then me so I guess it could really help you to simplify things 😊
I love so many things about this video. I love the idea of keeping a running list of who needs to be repotted and then doing it all on the same day (or weekend!). And same with moss pole maintenance. Because every time I sit down to repot I can never remember who needs repotting or maintenance! I might just keep a post it on my desk with a list.
As always, appreciating your thoughtful content. Plants give me so much joy and watching them, esp. my hoyas, grow and bloom, has been rewarding/ therapeutic. I use masking tape to label cover pots when I replace the osmocote fertilizer. I have a weekly planner)week on left side, notes on right side) dedicated solely to plants. This is where I note plant purchases, repottings, and other notes(incl.when I give them away or toss them). Since it's winter, I can now get away with watering most plants once a week. In 2023, I focused on grow lights and trellises and not being a helicopter parent i.e. not overwatering. The results have been rewarding. Looking ahead to 2024, I'd like to see larger hoyas and more hoya blooms. Philodendrons, monstera, and alocasias have been banned from my home for a few years and have decreased pest pressures and my stress levels. 🙂
This is why I’m transferring all my plants to leca. Watering is so easy and clean and when I’m out of town which is a lot, it’s easier to have someone else simply check the water reservoir. I’ve decided that if a plant can’t do well in leca, it just isn’t a plant for me.
Wishing you and yours a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2024 ✨🌈🪴🍄🧘🏻♀️ plants are magical, thank you Fern for your honesty and openness, for sharing your journey helps myself and others bring back the joy to something that is so peaceful and meaningful 💚
I love the chatty podcast type videos to be able to do planty maintenance and just leaving my phone in one spot and not worry about being able to see it. Love both types of videos🥰
Okay I’m only 2 minutes in but you and I are in the same boat. I’ve not been vibing with my plants and I think it’s bc I have too many (I’m past my limit) and I need to scale it back so I can get that spark back. Such a helpful vid!
People say “don’t put too much pressure on yourself” but this is your business! So making goals for the next year makes complete sense. Obviously you don’t want to make all your goals too lofty, but you need challenges to grow not just your plants, but your business too. Here’s to growth in 2024!
Fern love hearing and learning about begonias!! Also maybe spend time when watering to show us each plant, you have so many ones we don’t see often enough. Love all you do, bring on 300,000 followers this yr you deserve it❤🎉
Hi Fern! I love your intentions. I am guilty. If I see a plant thirsty, I tell myself it can wait a day til I do the others. Yep! You’re not the only one. Wishing you the best in 2024
I liked your last video, I can feel your confusion. Over the holidays I was so overwhelmed with visiting family and friends yet knowing my plants needed water. At 76 I was very overwhelmed I started to think why do I have all these plants. I have orchids, succulents and lately houseplants. I had to think of what needed water first. I put my small houseplants on shelf at kitchen sink. I have app Gregg - it sends reminder messages on phone. Can add pictures and also last watered. I love my plants and look for new growth, leaves and new shoots Hang in there, take deep breath. Do a section at a time, think they’re new plants and are lovely ❤ You’ll grow and your plants will too, be you
I'm here for your begonias! I love how much passion you have for your plants. You influenced me in getting a begonia amphioxus, and I love it. Thank you for your content. I am a fan, as cheesy it may sound lol.
I’ve used the free version of Planta through most of my plant journey! Storing and organizing progress photos, and having the app prompt me to take photos once a month, is one of my favorite features. And I don’t think there’s a limit on the number of plants you can enter!
As well as pots, I like plastic pots, but ceramic gives a wider variety when you’re planting in all white. I just like the clean look of white. If you use all different colors and patterns they get all mixed up and then none of them stand out against the others. With white I feel it allows the plant to be the star and shine.
Good morning, just wanted to say I'm so happy that you're using Planta! I use the free version, and I'm up to over 100 plants. I could not recommend it more, especially for tracking progress and no plants left behind! 💚 You'll find it essential! Love your content and channel, thank you so much!🌱
I have been using Planta for a couple of years now. They keep improving and IMHO the best plant app that I have tried. Is it 100% no, but it's very very useful. With my scatter brain, it really helps me stay on track. Always remember even when using an app always check your soil even if an app says it needs watering.
Great content! This video touched on so many things I'm experiencing or have experienced, and it is motivating me to get it together with my plants and my life. Your videos are such a relaxing vibe 🤗
100% agree on the simple soil mixture of potting mix, perlite and orchid bark, simple and effective and can never get all 3 in one store anyway. Also with you on only keeping plants that spark joy... honestly getting rid of all things that don't spark joy in 2024 ✨️✨️can't wait to see you grow whatever YOU want to grow in your collection this year. 🌿
Thank you so much for this timely and helpful video! I think you’ve tapped into how many of us are feeling - with overwhelm, with burnout, and with life balance issues. You are amazing!
Just wanted to wish you the best of 2024! Followed you quickly after joining the art of plant collecting a few years back and have appreciated all your contribution to my learning. Thank you for sharing the good, the bad and the ugly. Here's to a year full of healthy foliage ☕🌿
I never thought about setting up moss poles for the long term. Definitely want to do that this late spring. Our temps stay around 15-30°F til about mid April. I think curation is key to a hobby like plants. There are just TOO many to want them all, so being selective about the ones that bring a smile to your face vs frustration is super important. I have the subscription version of planta, and though I struggle to keep up with it, I enjoy it.
Happy new year! 🎉🎊 I have really enjoyed your content since I found your channel and this video was no different. I love your 2 points of emphasis in this plant journey and in life. I can totally relate. You mentioned being interested in seeing or hearing about what others do to keep track of their plants. I have a spreadsheet that I could share with you if you want. I am still adding to it as I go and figuring out ways to improve it, but so far it has really helped me organize and keep track of my large collection of succulents. Let me know if you want me to shard it with you. Good luck, keep up the wonderful work, and take care of yourself 🤗
Omg this video so came at the right time!! I was feeling exactly the way you were about my plant collection. It is not nearly the size of yours. I never know when I watered last hardly ever fertilize or treat for pest regularly. Ever the dislike for terra cotta pots and like of the plastic. I am starting my schedule routines tonight on my entire life. I have felt so confused and lost the last year and I feel this is what I need. Thank you so so much for this video today!!❤😊
awe you are so welcome!!! it's nice to know there are others out there feeling the same way, we can figure this out together :) thank you so much for watching and good luck with your new schedule/routines! x
Hi Fern! to keep track of what I do plant wise I use a spread sheet file. I keep different files for different years and then a tab for each month. in rows I keep plant names organized by genera or type if I don't have multiple plants of that genera (eg succulents), and in column I keep days. I don't write that much because I figured some short words or letters to reference something that happened or something I did (eg X means that I watered the plant, W means that I showered it, PT means pest thrips, PM means pest mealybugs and so on). You could give it a go if the app you want to try doesn't work out well for you. 💚
I can definitely relate to being overwhelmed by the maintenance of all my plants. When there seems to be so much to do for my plants on top of daily human activities I tend to procrastinate a lot. For me it's helped for me to switch most of my indoor plants to semi hydro. The plants can water themselves as they need and u can just water em when u can.
I just use the notes section in my phone to track plant fertilizing and when i repot or treat them. For me, it needs to be super simple and easily accessible for me to remember to even make notes 👍🏻 you can create your own chart in the iPhone notes section. Happy new year 🎉🎉🎉
I finally got time to watch! I was doing plant “chores” while watching. I hate calling it chores because that makes it seem like work. While I find it very enjoyable to take care of my plants. Thanks for another planty video. 😊
🌱happy new year Fern!🌱thank you for sharing and bringing us on your planty journey 😇 like many of us, i have allowed my plants time to rest and relax over the winter time and recently was inspired to get back in the groove of plant care 😇 i treated myself to some new plant supplies and adorable pots and can't wait to see what my plants will do this year!!! 🩷🩷🩷 blessings to you!
Happy new year! Thank you so much for watching and for your lovely comment. New plant supplies and pots are the best. Hope you enjoy getting back into the plant care groove 🌿🥰 take care!
I take care of plants in business’ for a living and also have a large plant collection at home, and man, plant burnout is REAL😅 Currently looking for a new job because I miss being excited about my plants at home!!
The second half of the year, I neglected my plants because I was focusing more on my other hobbies and finding new hobbies, so this year I need to find a balance. Also I purchased a digital plant journal I need to use that to keep track of my plants chores
I do my plant run every morning when i exam over everything write down whats needed like watering etc..make that coffee and proceed with the small task morning i also list what plants are next to get showered and that will happen on Thursdays i ❤to stay on top because it makes me feel better knowing whats needed because it never seem to be overwhelming if i dont have organization i would be 🤪
i've been following for you for a few years and i adore your content - it's so comfy to watch your channel! to track my plants (growth of plant, when I watered/fertilized them, etc.) I've been really loving notion - there are plant tracker templates that you can install if you aren't familiar with notion, but you can also design your own page if you want :) hope that helps!
This video is so relavent to me right now. I'm heading into my 5th year with around 50 plants, and it's starting to lose its sparkle, so these tips are helpful! Also, I like the chatty videos. I watch them in the morning when getting ready for the day, etc. Ps your hair looks so long, 👌
Gooood Morning! This video is sooooo perfect! I don't know how you keep track of whats been watered.. I tried breaking it up but then I forget who's been watered. But I don't have as many plants as you so my orchids get watered on Wednesday (8 of 9 have a flower spike 🎉) and the rest get water on sundays. What I have put off is going through ALL the pots I have accumulated.. I need to go and find a beautiful notebook to jot my schedule in. Kisses to Olive 💚🐶 Have a great day! PS I LOVE my pings! And I have so many babies
I love begonia and pings too!! Bring on the videos lol I also enjoy all your styles of videos, do you and do what makes you happiest with the content you make💕
GURL get that Planta App! It's not perfectly on point but that journalling you are doing, you can do it on there, putting pictures of every plant you have and nobody's getting forgotten! Very cheap and easy to use, you can snooze actions, they remind you to water, fertilize, clean, progress, they ask for soil medium, pot size, type of pot, it calculates your level of light and humidity in each rooms you add. You have the whole history of every action you did on the plant! Please do it for your mental health and thank me later! Plus photoshoots are fuuuuun and making my plant list on there has been very fun! And the accuracy of watering and fertilizing is pretty on point nonetheless and you even have the growlight option! Plus, for me, having the tasks as notifications on the daily made me understand what I can handle better and made me adjust the size of my collection accordingly!
I love these ideas for making your plant collection more fulfilling! I've been doing to same things (I'm calling it nesting lol) but never thought about doing it consciously. Such a great idea to keep goals written down too- thank you for the inspiration 💚
I love Planta. I don't use it to journal, but just for care. It's a little off for some plants, but it's pretty good in general. I think the subscription is worth it.
I use planta app, and I absolutely love it. I love being prompted to water which plant with the option to hold or snooze for up to a week. Since I fertilize every time I water, I turn off the fertilizer notice. I love the updates but I haven’t found a way to put in other updates except when prompted. I need to get used to taking a picture as well as written notes. It’s far worth the price, free.
LOVE the wisdom bomb from Fern. Less overwhelm, more joy. ❤ Yes please!! I don’t think there’s any limit on the free version of Planta. I’ve been using it since I started with plants and I don’t do a lot of updates but I do have 160 plants logged on it.
My tips for Planta - play around with the pot type and pot size to get watering schedule closer to actual. I haven’t found any of the other settings very helpful for this. If it’s still way off, create a custom schedule on that plant. You can use the locations however you like, so for instance I make one location named “succulents” so I can easily find all the plants of that group to water them all together and check them off on the app rather than try and remember all their names to search for them.
Planta is awesome! I have 200 plants and so so many pictures have been using it since 2021! Also love you can have a gravyard to look back on😂 Love Begonia as well! You are great to watch!
💚💚💚love love love a deep dive, and love writing out my thoughts and/or to-do’s…. once it’s on paper it’s not driving me nuts and I can just work on it instead of thinking I’m forgetting something 🥴 hahaha You and your videos are amazing, soooo much love for you 🫶🏼 I appreciate you 🩷🩷🩷
Great video lady.👍👍For anyone feeling overwhelmed take notes. 🗒 I decided to go back to caring for my plants the way I did before I tripped and fell down the plant care rabbit hole.😊
Happy new year!.. have you considered a planted fish tank? I'm doing that right now with a 10 gallon.. it's a nice little hobby, you get to enjoy aquatic plants and cute fish, you can also root plants easily hanging in the tank. Natural aquariums are very pretty ❤
Thank you for this nice video! I noticed that watching planty videos really helps with keeping up with maintenance. Strange question maybe, do you watch other plant UA-camrs? Our does anyone else in the comments have some tips for nice videos/UA-camrs? 😊
Yesss! I love watching other planty UA-camrs. Lately I've been watching a lot of: www.youtube.com/@Lily.planted www.youtube.com/@plantsbymelissa www.youtube.com/@greenandsheen www.youtube.com/@dakotasplants www.youtube.com/@BasiePlants Hope that helps! I looove finding new people to watch :)
I looove Becca De La Plants, Harli G, Good & Planty, Nick Alexander, Plant Gay For Life, Planting Ashley, Gotta Grow with the Flow, greenandsheen, and unplantparenthood, just to name a few
This video was so inspiring! I love planning and chatting and create a really enjoyable hobby out of my plants, even if it's not like super important x) A quick job is better then neclect... yes!!! I always want to do the best job, but then I get overwhelmed very easely... and that's a bad combination. And you know what, I actually right now downloaded the planta app, and I love it. I think it really helps me remembering doing this quick jobs! I hope you're sponsored by this app!
It’s so nice to hear that others enjoy this type of video! I love reflecting on how to improve things and it’s really nice to share my thoughts with like-minded people 🌿 thank you so much for watching!
I use an app to track my plants and I love it! Each plant has like its own profile of information. Everyday the app tells me whos' turn it is for watering and i spend 15-30 minutes going through them each day. I also love that I can go into a profile and see what the plant looked like when I first got it and see the growth change. I mostly have hoya and my goal has been that for every hoya I can get to bloom I make its flowers the profile picture for that plant. The one I used is called Vera but unfortunately it seems like its no longer available for Canadians and I dread the day if the app stops working for me.

Yes exactly!! Takes some extra time, but it’s so much better in my opinion.
I take them to the bathtub. More room for more plants!
Grab a bucket and wire baking shelf I take it around with me pop about 7 small baby's on the at once and water though and the big boys sit on there for a few mins. I love this because I can reuse the fertiliser usually once and then the garden plants get it. Works super well.
I do this too! So much easier to know I saturated the whole pot! It may be a little more work moving all of them, but worth it to me!
My mom walked in as I was watching this and she hadn’t seen you for a while and she goes IS THAT FERN she looks sooooooo goooood
AWWW what an angel 😭
Loving the hair!!
Also I regroup the same plants together (Hoyas, Alocasia cactus etc), it makes it easier to check and fun to compare, it makes a nice arrangement per room and or shelves

I just ordered my first set of Pings because of you. Please don't stop with that content. They are so cute! I mean, they eat our flying pests!
Very thoughtful & thought-provoking video. I have been “ramping up” my collection (aka as buying lots). I’m going to use your template for thinking through my goals, why I enjoy plants, how to keep the joy… Thank you for sharing!

I just bought one as well 😊time to learn about carnivorous plant care
Oh gosh, yes! I’d love to try to make one. Great idea. And that’s so awesome that you got a Ping 🥰
Hi Fern! Great to see you in 2024 :) I absolutely agree with all the points you mentioned, except one and that is the app. I feel like it takes so much time to log progress of each loved plant and it would just add stress to my plant care. Btw love chatty videos
Hi! Glad you enjoyed the video. Yes, definitely a time investment and not worth it for everyone haha. Thank you so much for watching 😊🌿

Love this, definitely feel like learning to love and manage my collection translates into skills I use to love and manage my life now ❤
Love the Planta app! I would be lost without it. I mostly use it to track watering
I have used the plant care reminder app for years and i love it!! Add pictures and notes is so helpful.
I’m with you on the pings and other carnivorous plants. They are underrated and different to care for. Love them
This is why I’m transferring all my plants to leca. Watering is so easy and clean and when I’m out of town which is a lot, it’s easier to have someone else simply check the water reservoir. I’ve decided that if a plant can’t do well in leca, it just isn’t a plant for me.
Wishing you and yours a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2024 ✨🌈🪴🍄🧘🏻♀️ plants are magical, thank you Fern for your honesty and openness, for sharing your journey helps myself and others bring back the joy to something that is so peaceful and meaningful 💚
thank you so much BJ
I love the chatty podcast type videos to be able to do planty maintenance and just leaving my phone in one spot and not worry about being able to see it. Love both types of videos🥰
Okay I’m only 2 minutes in but you and I are in the same boat. I’ve not been vibing with my plants and I think it’s bc I have too many (I’m past my limit) and I need to scale it back so I can get that spark back. Such a helpful vid!
Yesss exactly! Feels so good to downsize, definitely recommend. Glad this was helpful 💚
People say “don’t put too much pressure on yourself” but this is your business! So making goals for the next year makes complete sense. Obviously you don’t want to make all your goals too lofty, but you need challenges to grow not just your plants, but your business too. Here’s to growth in 2024!
Exactlyyyy! Thank you for acknowledging this!! 💚
I love my plants and look for new growth, leaves and new shoots
Hang in there, take deep breath. Do a section at a time, think they’re new plants and are lovely ❤
You’ll grow and your plants will too, be you
Happy 2024!! ❤
I'm here for your begonias! I love how much passion you have for your plants. You influenced me in getting a begonia amphioxus, and I love it. Thank you for your content. I am a fan, as cheesy it may sound lol.
Awww thank you so much. I really appreciate you watching 🥹💚🌿
Chatty vids are my fave! I can put you on and go about my business… like a podcast 😊
Yes keeping things simply is the only way I can keep up and got to enjoy what you’re doing. Looking forward to seeing your styling ideas xx
Thank you, Fern, for this well thought out, realistic and helpfull video! Food for thought, for sure!
I’ve used the free version of Planta through most of my plant journey! Storing and organizing progress photos, and having the app prompt me to take photos once a month, is one of my favorite features. And I don’t think there’s a limit on the number of plants you can enter!
Oh that’s amazing!! I need to figure out how to set up that photo prompt too 👀
Sounds very positive and good 🌿 routine!👍
💚🌱☘️🌵💚
Thanks so much 😃
As well as pots, I like plastic pots, but ceramic gives a wider variety when you’re planting in all white. I just like the clean look of white. If you use all different colors and patterns they get all mixed up and then none of them stand out against the others. With white I feel it allows the plant to be the star and shine.
Best wishes for a joyful balanced 2024! ❤🌴
Good morning, just wanted to say I'm so happy that you're using Planta! I use the free version, and I'm up to over 100 plants. I could not recommend it more, especially for tracking progress and no plants left behind! 💚 You'll find it essential! Love your content and channel, thank you so much!🌱
Ahh so wonderful to hear that!! Good for you for having them all in there, that’s so impressive. Hopefully that will be me soon too 😃
I have been using planta for a year and it is so worth it! How many plans you have now, Fern?
That nail colour is stunning! This year is gonna be a good one. 💚
Ahh thank you 🥹💙 and yesss 👏
Love the chat! It was very helpful in motivating me to organize my own intentions for my plant collection.
Thanks! This made me question what about my plant hobby is overwhelming and what actually gives me joy 😅
loving the podcast style video!! happy 2024 fern 🥳
I love this approach to planty goals!! ❤
Thank you 🥰
Just a Sidenote: you look absolutely STUNNING!
You’re too kind, thank youuuu 🥹❤️
Omg this video so came at the right time!! I was feeling exactly the way you were about my plant collection. It is not nearly the size of yours. I never know when I watered last hardly ever fertilize or treat for pest regularly. Ever the dislike for terra cotta pots and like of the plastic.
I am starting my schedule routines tonight on my entire life. I have felt so confused and lost the last year and I feel this is what I need. Thank you so so much for this video today!!❤😊
awe you are so welcome!!! it's nice to know there are others out there feeling the same way, we can figure this out together :) thank you so much for watching and good luck with your new schedule/routines! x
I feel like my plant hobby is a roller coster of enjoyment and overwhelm! Great topic, especially for the new year :)
Hi Fern! to keep track of what I do plant wise I use a spread sheet file.
Yesss! Semi hydro saves lives 🙌 I’d like to get more of mine into it as well
I just use the notes section in my phone to track plant fertilizing and when i repot or treat them.
Happy New Year to you and your boyfriend. I hope it continues to be. As bright and shiny for the rest of the year s it is now.
I really enjoyed a moment in time with your thoughts.
Planta is awesome a such a resource for big plant collections! 💕
I feel you so much on this video. Poor plant just water me women! You don’t have to wait for your whole water routine just give me a sip!
Bring on the videos lol
I also enjoy all your styles of videos, do you and do what makes you happiest with the content you make💕
Yay! Thank you so much 😊🌿
so happy you're back!!!
Me toooo 🥹🥰🌱
thankyou I'm relatively new to plant parenthood getting a lot of good advice ,great vlog 🌸🙂⭐
Fern, I’m with you on Pinguiculas. They’re easy if you give them what they want and they eat your bugs! Plus the flowers are very cute
I’ve never used planta but I’ve used the plant app Greg for a while and it allows status updates and pics and everything too!
Thank you 😊 really glad you enjoyed! Happy growing in 2024 🌿
I love Planta. I don't use it to journal, but just for care. It's a little off for some plants, but it's pretty good in general. I think the subscription is worth it.
Have you thought about making a portable watering station? Cute cart with a bucket and sprayer
I really like your honest and intelligently made videos. both thumbs up.
Best regards from Germany
Andrej
Thank you so much 🥺
I love planta!! The only premium features, as far as I know is the fertilizing/misting reminder feature
Oh really! Great to know. I’m definitely going to use it more!!
Oh that is amazing!! And omg love the graveyard feature hahah that is awesome.
this is a great plant topic. thanks for sharing this video. Still watching and enjoying.....
Happy growing in 2024 🥳🥂💖🪴
Same to you!! 💚🌿
💚💚💚love love love a deep dive, and love writing out my thoughts and/or to-do’s…. once it’s on paper it’s not driving me nuts and I can just work on it instead of thinking I’m forgetting something 🥴 hahaha
You and your videos are amazing, soooo much love for you 🫶🏼 I appreciate you 🩷🩷🩷
Exactlyyyy! It gives me so much satisfaction writing everything out 🙌
Happpppppyyyyy new year 🎊 u are back💕😭 can't wait for a house tour video ♥️
Lately I've been watching a lot of:
www.youtube.com/@Lily.planted
www.youtube.com/@plantsbymelissa
www.youtube.com/@greenandsheen
www.youtube.com/@dakotasplants
www.youtube.com/@BasiePlants
Hope that helps! I looove finding new people to watch :)
Hi, I recommend you:

I looove Becca De La Plants, Harli G, Good & Planty, Nick Alexander, Plant Gay For Life, Planting Ashley, Gotta Grow with the Flow, greenandsheen, and unplantparenthood, just to name a few
This video was so inspiring! I love planning and chatting and create a really enjoyable hobby out of my plants, even if it's not like super important x)
A quick job is better then neclect...
Hanging earrings as accents among the plants 🤗
I use an app to track my plants and I love it! Each plant has like its own profile of information. Everyday the app tells me whos' turn it is for watering and i spend 15-30 minutes going through them each day. I also love that I can go into a profile and see what the plant looked like when I first got it and see the growth change. I mostly have hoya and my goal has been that for every hoya I can get to bloom I make its flowers the profile picture for that plant. The one I used is called Vera but unfortunately it seems like its no longer available for Canadians and I dread the day if the app stops working for me.
Loving your nail polish 😍
I haven’t finished the video yet, but I just want to say your nails are so gorgeous! 💙💙
Happy New Year 🥳🥰
Happy new year!! 🥳🌿
