I’m a stay at home mom and my 4 year old usually hates watching anything that I like but anytime I put on your videos to relax to, she says “that’s fern!” Today she said “hey fern! You’re my new friend!” “I like her❤” even my bf likes watching with me! Thanks for being you and keeping the vibes immaculate ☀️😎🫶🏻
I feel like as plant parents and hobbyists we get into so many other subsets of knowledge for plants. For instance legit learning about sunlight, temperature and humidity is huge and more obvious but also home improvements using hand tools to hang plants, water ph levels, etc like so many things I feel like I learn from this hobby I never though I would learn before starting
Thank you for this video! I've found thrips on some of my plants today and was so unmotivated to treat them but now I have a little motivation thanks to your video!!❤❤ They will not live for long 🥹
You got me so inspired, that I just finished re-potting 6 PLANTS, and am going to re-plant at least 4 more, before I go t bed. Thanks for the inspiration. Kathy in Alberta Canada
Yes! I would love to see a moss pole extension video! I have a few plants right now that I want to put on moss poles next month and would love to see more of your pole process! 😀
I watched this at 3 different times cuz Life. You got so much done in that 70 min.; can't imagine how tired you were at the end (tasks + explaining + thinking on your feet). Thank you, Fern.
I loved this video. I would love a moss pole care video. I just got a moss pole for my golden pothos that’s getting so big. I don’t know what I’m doing as far as moss poles go. Lol😊
I was really looking forward to your video. Perfect for a cozy night ☺️☺️ Spring wasn't very nice here in Germany too. It was extremely rainy and there was a massive flood close where I live a couple weeks ago. Fortunately it got better but its either rainy with 17°C or sunny and nearly 30°C 😭
This is exactly what I needed today ❤ purposely saved this video for today instead, knowing that I was going to need this when I woke up ❤ Thank you for making a nice long video, and for giving us a plant chores video to do my plant chores along with 😂❤
You did a great job drilling, especially ceramic. I have done drilling on 50 or more pots and clay pots are much easier, not as slippery. But depending on the clay some take a long time , i am always surprised when the drill pops through. And you did awesome on the packing.❤
I bought a secondary shower curtain rod so I can water my hanging plants. I can usually hang 3 plants at a time, then just push that rod back to the wall when I'm not watering 😊
By the way, if you’re gonna use it, make sure it’s the most basic *mineral* cat litter you can find. No scents, no chemicals. It can actually be a bit of a pain to find the right type of litter. Many stores nowadays sell a ton of fancy cat litter. Weird organic granules, crystals, powders, etc. It has to be the old school ugly ass clay granules that look like tiny pebbles. It’s super cheap and accessible compared to mineral soils marketed for plants, because one, there’s huge profit margins in the houseplant industry and substrates are way overpriced, and two, it’s meant to be bought in bulk and thrown away, so the price has to be low to remain accessible. I’ve bought cat litter for 3.99€/10kg. That’s over 20 lbs of grit for less than 5 bucks.
@@wildfern No worries. I just wanted to make sure you knew what to buy if you ever consider it. I’d feel so bad if you killed a plant because of my comment.
General rule of thump for orchids is to have minimum of 3 bulbs when you cut it. Not sure if this same applies for bulbophyllums but for future reference 1 bulb may not make it. It also may not have any eyes to activate new growth though thats more for the older bulbs.. Have you watched MissOrchidGirl? I find her videos about orchids super informative!
Fern Leaf cactus, what a stunner!!!! 😍 I put my Manjula Pothos on a pole. It is soooooo slow to grow. I'm still waiting for it to attach to the pole. The only good thing about this plant is that it can go a long time between waterings.
Hi! I just wanted to say I love your videos and thank you so much for introducing that microscope…. Thanks to you I finally know my mystery pest is flat mites! Seeing those little guys crawl around was not something I was mentally prepped for 😂
this was such a great long video for my day off.. love this. I was inspired to order a fern leaf cactus and i cant wait to grow it out to be hopefully half as magnificent as yours lol 🤩i think the sinningia looks great in the new pot!! and i'm still fairly new to moss poles so i definitely like the thought of a moss pole video. overall it was nice to hang out and do plant chores with your video playing while i puttered around with my coffee and plants. thanks Fern
So exciting to eat your harvest. I love Jasmine rice, garlic, salt and shredded kale…yummy!!!😊 Also drilled a lot on my succulent planters. It went from 10 seconds to 2 minutes, depending on the planter material…game changer.
You’re not alone in your love for Jose Bueno. For some reason I an infatuated with the long leaves, so much so that I actually put a pole for her to lean on with bark. I don’t think she’ll be able to grow into the bark, but will see. I just want her to be able to have support mainly. I love your begonias! Always enjoy your videos I learn a lot.
Hi Fern, I too have a Manjula to put on a moss pole 💕 Glad your outdoor garden is producing. We’ve been having salads with our lettuce from the garden too 😀🇨🇦
hi fern, lovely video, as always! I also enjoy the slower, chill, plant chore videos, and this one was no exception to that rule :) I frequently admire your rings/jewelry and I just noticed one ring is an open book (so cute!) If you don’t mind sharing, where do you get your rings from?!
Your fern leaf cactus is A M A Z I N G !!! 😍 Those stems are massive! Yeah, those are stems. They don't have any leaves 😉 Maybe you should let a little more of the Sinningia leucotricha's tuber stick out from the soil, to minimise the risk of it rotting.
I wish it was rainy! It’s 92 degrees F right now where I live in the US and on Tuesday it will be 100 degrees. Google says 37 C. I love your repot videos (:
