- In this video I lower a 2011 BMW X5M on H and R springs and also work on a low mileage E46 M3 fixing a differential pinion seal leak and doing some routine maintenance.

The E70 is a very popular generation of the 2nd gen X5 and the first generation of the M variant. A lot of people like the looks of this vehicle, and it's crazy fast and stable for its size, which isn't too excessive either.

Hi, I have a 2011 X5M too and want to lower it. How did you lower the rear? I know H&R sells lowering springs for the rear too, but I guess you only changed the front. Does the back tires rub at all? it seems too low but really looks good.
I saw your other video on the X5M regarding coding EDC, do you have to code it after installing the lowering springs?
Is the front bumper high enough that it wont scrape a normal parking lot divider? Or even side curbs?
My 2001 was pushed to 259.000 Miles,I loved that car more then my m 3 dinan.

How big of spacers would you get for an x5
How come the back looks lower then the front?

Cool video thanks. Lovely vehicle in black. Haha, yeah the brakes on vehicles can really tell a story. I park in a huge staff car park at the airport every time I go to work so as I walk to the staff bus I often look at all the different brakes. Some of the brakes on cheaper SUVs look pretty scary to be honest. Man, some of them look as if they've come off a bicycle. Take a lift in a Saang Yoong or Great Wall? Thanks all the same, but I'll just walk!

A 2011 with 65K on the body/chassis/tranny, but it has a new motor?!? That's crazy!! Catastrophic failure? Bad maintenance/love?!?
they don't build them like they used to...
same question here....people now changes car every 3/4/5 years, whatever the warranty is, and they totally trash them...floor them while cold or run them hot on low oil etc...I bet it was some rod issue.
That's my car and I will explain you why it has a new engine installed. The previous owner was changing the oil in the engine every 15k - 16k miles. She was avoiding her BMW maintenance schedule. Thats why previous engine started to show problems. She brought the car to the BMW dealership, trade it in, and bought a new X5M.
The dealership didnt want even to try to fix that engine. They just replaced it with a new one. It didnt make any sense to take that one apart, repair it and put it back.
The car was in excellent condition - interior, exterior, suspension - and a new engine. Thats why i bought it.

It also doesn't look right after lowering, looks too low at the back to me, unless it was the camera angle.
What's wrong with modifying vehicles? Plenty of museums if you like oem vehicles. Tastefully modified vehicles are appealing looking too.

Not necessarily. It will still have the carrying capacity and the easy step in height of an SUV with car like handling. It's not like it'll be off roaded.
