You're doing great and loving the informative videos a lot!!!!Im now waiting patiently for more videos from you to be released for the all new mg hs essence 2024 brand new model and any hidden features on that model aswell as just bought it brand new two days ago Any more videos on that model would be amazing...Thankyou
GREAT review !!! Better than any other. At min 17:53 you "not sporty as Jaecoo7". But J7 isn't sportish at all. Can You please clarify better the difference between the 2 cars? I'm choosing HS/J7 and would like to understand better. THANX
Thanks for the support! I should mean it doesn’t have the handling like the Jaecoo J7. Jaecoo’s composure around corners is solid and the HS is a bit light. With that saying, the HS is more comfy on highway.
Very nice and detailed review of the new MG HS. While the infotainment system definitely got as massive upgrade and the new steering wheel looks very nice, I don't quite like the massive introduction of piano black inside and outside the car, especially compared to the previous MG HS model where most of it had a brushed metal finish. Piano black just magically attracts finger prints and every bit of dirt becomes very visible. Unfortunately the new super slim and boxy design is also not as appealing to me as compared to the prior version. I preferred the more round and jet engine-like air vents and more round headlights, reminding me very much of Mercedes or other prestigious german car brands. The new headlights are super slim too and the grill got even bigger, looking out of proportion for my taste. The new MG HS just looks more "asian" and less "european" in design as compared to the previous model. I assume there are many who will like the new "sporty" instead of "comfortable" design language. To me, although I am a big fan of MG's cars, it just looks a bit cheaper than before.
Thanks for the support firstly. Good points on the piano black. I like the exterior ones but I don't like the interior ones. The design? That's subjective for each of us honestly. I remembered every reviewer complaining about how the last gen looked outdated back in 2022.
@@footballnz3017 better at some places like space, boot volume, second row, comfort, road noise, warranty. Worse at some places like handling, screen response time, camera resolution, missing some features like ambient lighting.
Great attempt , for some reason they put a grill that is overly large , so it will be a 50/50 on like or not. Here in UK we only got sunroof on the original 2020 hs , once tweaked in 23 the roof disappeared. been told the ones UK receive made in Thailand where they do not make with electric roof 😢, even in top spec .😢
Test drove the SL6 for a 2nd time today, BYD suspension is way too soft for my taste, I cancelled a Seal order for the same reason. The boot in the MG is much bigger than the SL6 and the petrol MG as Jerry says has a spare wheel. Of any of the EVs I’ve driven I like the XPeng G6 best.
Reviews getting even better every video Jerry. Great coverage of all features of the latest HS model. Nice work mate 👍
@@joshuaanderson2890 thanks Josh 🙏
It certainly does look great!
@@JohnLockey-rw9yi 💯 agree
Thank you for this. I'm swapping my 2024 Qashqai due to faults and have been told to look at this one
The best review so far. Thanks!
Thank you so much!

@@jade-allissabennett5987 thanks. Will have more videos for sure:)
Do you need a sim card just to set-up the navigation system
Always a great review, Thanks Jerry.
Thank you :D
Another awesome review Jerry ❤
thank you!:D

What does instrument immersion mean? It's a setting in the cluster section
There's no problem with the seat belts in my old VW Jetta as well.
Is this $43,000 price tag MG HS better than the $41,000 Omoda C5 GT?

I'm waiting for the PHEV model. My biggest complaints so far: No sunroof, ambient lighting and USB-C(why still decades old USB-A in 2024 car?)
Just here to watch the content. No more $ to get a new one. Haha!

Yeah I heard many MGs in UK have no sunroof anymore after 2023.
Go Jerry!

MG are really kicking goals. I couldn't read clearly the fuel economy you got ...was it 9.7l/100 at the end of the drive?
@sidjyothi it was 8.7L actually, but do remember it was quite a heavy footer trip :)
Mine arrives in 3 months
Is that DSG? DCT?
@@HSENX DCT
Ps whats the mpg ? Thats town and freeway mix
Average around 33
No ambient light? 😮
nope :(

The price is fantastic for NZ buyers . In UK It's 10 ,000 NZ dollars more for the one your testing. 😢 You lucky kiwis.
I found all the car brands in UK are more expensive than NZ.
🙏🏿
Good review of a much improved car. One correction though is that I don't think there is any actual leather in the car just vinyl.
Yep, synthetic leather is the name they use in NZ.
No sunroof in a D segment car, it is weird
Sunroof is here for NZ spec.
Not buying this.. just here for Jerry's excellent delivery
Thank you so much :D
Imo, BYD sealion 6 is better than the new MG HS 😅
Different price point I think.

Here in OZ, drive away the top,of the range petrol MG HS is about $10,000 less than the SL6 Premium AWD. $46 v $56 AUD.
