Holey moley, it’s hard to believe these guys were in their early to mid-twenties when they recorded this gorgeous piece of music. They really were something special. And that voice. TK sang so beautifully and with such maturity for someone so young. That he typically played with such ferocity but was also capable of such sensitivity made him a rare treasure.
Overlooked, but recorded, so still available. One of the most beautifully performed pieces of music of any kind I've ever heard. Loved it now for more than 4 decades. If you like this, you may also like the more jazzy-bluesy Blood-Sweat&Tears "Blues Part II", also instrumentally complex and ending with a great vocal.
Lost my aunt about a month ago to COVID, and played this the day we had to let her go, as well as the next morning as the sun was rising. The final verse will never not make me tear up, as it hits home all too well. Miss you, Tracy; may you rest easy! (04/11/1969-01/09/2022)
I had Chicago II playing in my car recently and suddenly I noticed how clean, clear and balanced the sound of the vocals was against that tastefully sparse orchestra on this track, like I never heard it before. Then I realised this track suffered greatly from 'inner-track-itis' when it was the inner track on the LP . I was actually used to the distorted everything when hearing this track for so many years, it was like hearing this song for the first time.
I heard all the hits since high school (1975) but now I am listening to the non-radio tracks and I realize what a greater band this was. More on the level of Yes or Queen in its complexity but more jazz. 3 horn created such a massive sounds. This piece is worthy of a ballet or musical theatre.
This is kind of me; just over 4 years ago, Dec 7, 2015 my first wife lost her battle with cancer. This song can still be heavy even though I have since remarried.
I was waiting for my daughter to get ready for school and I put on Side 3, on my record player. I do believe side three maybe perfect being that it has "25 or 6 to 4" and, "memories of love". Chicago is one of my very favorite
Kind of like a street corner Chopin type movement. Chicago tried it all and did it all on some Saturday in the Park around 25 or 6 to 4. But Baby, What a Big Surprise cause If You Leave Me Now, you'll Love Me Tomorrow making it Hard To Say I'm Sorry. Of all the tunes they came out with they never did one called Da Bears!, though. Kaffa.
Terry was a great composer but I don't think he wrote any hit singles. Introduction is a masterpiece. So is It Better End Soon, cowritten with Robert. This is another excellent work and shows great diversity among the group.
On January 10, 2017 Camela shorter came to me and said Ashley Brown was upset and disappointed in me I found out she was wondering where I am and so I have no choice but I went to Fillmore to shields park and cool my mind off on January 14, 2017
Terry composing "Introduction" and this suite undeniably proves he's an underrated musical genius. Also many credits to James Pankow and Peter Matz who helped transcribe Terry's genius to life.

What do you expect them to have been, 50 or 60?
We lost a true treasure when Terry died. Chicago was never the same. Terry was the heart and soul of Chicago. Miss him so much.
For my darling husband Keith remember us listening to this together in 1972. Miss you so very much.
jenny. thanks for that memory. you are a beautiful person.
Love is there always
My very sincere condolences. I have lost a wife to cancer Dec 7, 2015.
Incredible band. Have wondered where Chicago would have taken this journey if Terry Kath was still with us.

Brilliant from Chicagos best album
Such a brilliant emotional piece of music with that beautifully soulful voice of Terry Kath!
R.I.P. Terry Kath.
What a tragedy, what a loss! Kath was one of the more talented in quite a talented band.
Love, love, Chicago the best band in the world!!!!
First time hearing this beautiful creation. Written at 15, omg how he is missed!❤
It would take many lifetimes to be that good. Reincarnation of the masters is my explanation
Beautiful

This is one of the songs I can't listen to without tearing up. It speaks straight to my soul.
I just figured it out. My mom died last year, so when Kath sings "the Lord took her today" I tear up because of my mom.
I can absolutely understand. On Dec 7, 2015 I have lost a wife to cancer. This song can still be heavy to me, even though I have since remarried.
I understand
