    I am not playing these days due Knee injury and recovered all most. I like your video and would recommend others to follow your channel. What I learned with my recent injury, always do warm up at least for 10 minutes with stretches before you go to court. Keep drinking water. Never go for surgery, there are ways to fix it.

    This is really helpful! Especially the advice about looking at the opponent before receiving. Is he swaying back and forth? Is he in the middle? Is he in the front? Or is he slightly in the back? If he's slightly at the back, serve short. If he's at the front, serve short or long.

    this is interesting, badminton is taught by Philipino that usually has great basketball culture in SE asia. Meaning badminton gain its popularity these days. @coachkennieasuncion keep up the good work.

      Thank you very much! Badminton popularity was at its peak in the Philippines at around 2005-2006 in fact, we held big tournaments such as mvp cup asia vs europe. That was the first time i saw a stadium packed with badminton fanatics (well, who wouldn’t want to see taufik, lin dan, nathan robertson, gail emms , kenneth jonassen and many more at that time). I was lucky to have been a player that time. I truly hope this decline in the present days can go back up so todays generation of Filipino badminton athletes can see and enjoy the sport at a high level. We have many good players these days in the country. They really just need more exposure and chances. 😁🏸 I hope badminton can peak in our country again and stay for good like our neighboring southeast asian countries😁😁🏸🏸

    Hi coach, I'm 6.1 tall doubles player. I used to do perfect short serves. From at least 6 months my serves clips the tape or either short just short. It was never too high fron the tape. My team mates says I'm taking less time before the serve. I'm not sure what happened to my services recently. 😢 Sometimes amazingly I can do the perfect service. I became inconsistent with the service which puts me to too much pressure especially at the last 5 points of the game. Please share some handy tips. By the way your videos are fantastic. I wish I had them 20 years ago 😍😍. Thanks in advance. Take care and stay safe. 🙏🙏

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  4 роки тому +5

      Hi! You mentioned your service used to be good and just right. My guess is when you started to do those bad serves, you started becoming panicky and didnt have confidence with it. Confidence has a lot to do with a great serve so change the mindset. If you were able to do it then you can definitely do it again with consistency. Do not pressure yourself unnecessarily. Ofcourse there will be days when your serve sucks but whats impt is you have a strong mind that reminds u that that is normal, it cannot be perfect all the time but on those days that they are not good the challenge is not to allow it to happen for the entire game. I believe you’ll get the great serves back! Stay confident!! You can do it!! .... By the way, thank you for letting me know my videos have been helpful. I only started doing them august of 2019 but i’ve been coaching for a very long time now... thank you! 😁🏸

    Thank you ma'am you are so great. I have a problem with receiving flick serves. My recieves always goes right on the net and the opponent will easily win the point. I will be so greatful if you teach about where to shot and how to shot the shuttle with more force so the opponent couldn smash on it so easily.

    • @CoachKennieAsuncion
      @CoachKennieAsuncion  3 роки тому +1

Let’s say the service is made by the person and I’m supposed to return it (cross serve) but the server made the serve to my partner (straight) however my partner not realising its a wrong serve and he returns the serve (hits). Will it be considered as a service fault or since my partner returned the serve so rally continues? Please clarify.

    Hi coach how can I improve on my reaction time in receiving the shuttle?

      Hi Mark! Service receiving though basic and simple, people tend to not give it enough extra timw for practice. Truly practice is key. Take 5-10 min, ask a friend to serve to u and all you do is return it... and vice versa... that should help... 😁🏸

    Hi, Kennie, can you teach me how to do a weak smash, that can confuse the opponent (they though I gonna do a power smash)

      Will try to that in more videos. A term that is used for a weaker smash is called half smash. I’ve done a video on it:

      Hope that helps for now😁🏸
