you can already just use their fire particle tutorials mixed with this one (for heat distortion) to create that effect

Thanks for the awesome tutorial. In the end I couldn't get it to work and the water stayed gray because my after effects was lagging too much and couldn't process the effects.

Nice! Bit of constructive criticism, the water looks pretty flat. I would recommend adding in some controlled lighting to get matching illumination on the water and the scene. Ideally, I would do the scene in a place with a direct light source. Also, the different lighting would help the water stand out more. Overall, still pretty damn impressive!

I'm brand new to Particular. What did you do from 7:32 to 7:34 that made it change so much? I played with the turbulence as much as I could and nothing I did made it look like that!
