@@popcorn1561 gvm has some good cheap lights but for greens screens softer light is better. Try getting softbox lights which are pretty cheap & softer.
It looks absolutely great, but question: shouldn't her image grow slightly as the camera moves forward, in terms of creating a more realistic blend to the scene?
@@dreamancyfilms He did track (2D) and used position and scale, but he choose a bg tree and a midground tree to track. Its good to take two points on the same x-axis, so the scale would be calculated more precise. Right now the track will average the position and scale with the bg and midground tree. It's also handy to place the trackers where your object /person will be positioned. Other option is to create a 3D track and place the card in the right depth :P
Very good! Consider adding the girl's shadow on the ground, in order to sell better the effect and establish the height of levitation. Every composite, without a shadow, looks not so natural...
Cool! Though David Blaine likely used a combination of crew and very clearly the Balducci Levitation technique. From my perspective David did the entire thing in camera :)
This was cool, but the glitch effect didn't match with location. Forests are not places where it is covered with electricity and screens, something like dry leaves would have made this better.
Not bad! I would say skip the glitch effect add in because it's not really required for the levitation tutorial. BUT I have 1 critique for the over all effect: maybe a tad bit of light wrap around the subject. Her outline looks a tad too crisp and feels keyed in. Some light wrap from the sky behind her would help soften and make the effect look believable. But next to that, very solid tutorial and effect! Good stuff!
I would have added a simple slightly blurred and subtle simple shadow to it, which decreases in transparency and gains in blurriness with the distance to the ground.
Hi Brandon, I'm looking to mimic a Stranger Things 4 where Max is floating above Billy's grave and use slow motion , close ups, tilting , and showing different degrees (like 180's and 360 veiws) similar to what is shown during the scene. I want to try and make it look as realistic as possible. could you possibly make a video teaching these filming methods or give me some advice? Thank you
03:00 its still not the same lightning, because the light from behind her is blocked by the greenscreen, because of this her legs are really dark. better place a bigger greenscreen far behind her so the lightning can shine on her legs
Hi brandon, i am a fan from india. i know creating something is a biggest task than just sitting on a couch and judging it but can we also put a shodow of a lavitating subject on the ground. Great Job bro keep doing it. we really appreciate your work. you inspire us.
Hey. Nice vid. I do have a question though. Wouldnt it be easier to mask out the girl in another project, and then just import that new video file into this project?
Well gee. That was simple. Show us something hard. I'm kidding. How one earth do you learn all that? All those steps and changing this and that. Your amazing. Thanks for the vid.
I know how he's knowing all this he have the trick I have (not really a trick). I'm just looking at these videos because I don't have AE but when I do pay for the subscription I don't really have to look at these I could make my own videos about what I know. Like when I had autocad and photos photoshop I didn't know nothing about how to use it I tried to watch videos but it didn't help, [SKIP ABOVE TO GET RIGHT TO THE POINT] so I just browse through the app sense I bought it and I gave my self a week of doing that and I know what tool does what.
I enjoy your content. I've been wondering how to do this same effect but floating within a higher altitude.; kind of like how superman would just be levitated in a cloud. is it possible to have an effect where a subject is levitated farther above where he/she is looking down (I know that a drone would be involved)? maybe like above a building? thanks in advance!!
Hope you can help. I really want to learn AE to a very advanced VFX level. Im a very beginner and im kind of tired or youtube tutorials cause not everyone can really teach (your video was great though) So where can i study or what online course can i pay for that would be the best one to learn??? Hope to hear back.
you dont have to do all that u can just mask the character with rotobrush change the position and content aware fill it and then animate it with graph editor lol
I can’t believe the number of people who think this was a great tutorial. Even if I had experience in every single thing he mentioned, he speaks so fast and goes through the steps so fast that I would have to replay the video in super slow motion to get everything he said and did.
Nice tutorial , but so you shot 50 fps then in AE you change it 24 fps because of slow motion isn't better to shoot for slow motion 60 fps or higher and why did you change it in Ae 24 fps? sorry I am confused a bit if you clarify that I really appreciate .
Hey one thing I'm confused by. The plain shot of the forest you were moving with gimbal but the shot of your wife the camera was stationary?? How did you make the shot of your wife look like you were moving in same as the plain shot???
There is only 1 thing missing and is adding Light wrap to the girl so she looks better when she's added to the footage....not a expert but I can see totally see she doesn't belong there. just my 2 cents, otherwise looks pretty good

hi
don't forget about us when you have a gazillion well-deserved followers one day
Maybe that’s trick, but u r completely wrong abt real one!!!!
One thing you can do is match the colors, the two shots don't match at all on a contrast level, this helps blend the two shots
Just bought a green screen! Doing everything!
Awesome! Love making effects with a green screen.
@@BrandonFate What can i get for lighting the green screen thats low budget but good

A moving shadow on the ground would have been the finishing touch, lovely tutorial though!
True
dont forget with color corection
Ghosts don't cast shadows my nerd
Thought the same thing
@@sicfxmusic I was looking at this as more of a person with superpowers vs a ghost.
coming from someone that doesn’t know ANYTHING, this was super helpful 🙏🏽 thank you!!
The only thing this masterpiece needed was her shadow on the ground. Amazing!!
Hey bruh you're finally back I like your tutorials very much 😇love from India

It does I believe. That's why they tracked the first shot. :P

Many know, few can explain. Excellent tutorial.
bro your Pulp Fiction poster, so cool! ✨
Gajab man big fan ❤️❤️
BRO I JUST DID IT IT LOOKS SO GOOD
brilliant work. adding to the realism i think a wind blower on the trees will give it richness in realism.
Now that's how you do a tutorial! Informative, easy to follow & a great flow.
Never thought to use my Ego leafblower for dramatic hair like that - great idea!!
Laxcity spot on!
You've actually got so quality stuff on your channel. Keep that up man!

You should have added subject's shadow, It would be looking more realistic with that. Anyways its really fantastic.

you dont have to do all that u can just mask the character with rotobrush change the position and content aware fill it and then animate it with graph editor lol
Only noob editors relay on rotobrush , he is a professional creator so he is using green screen for better results
Do you have a tutorial?
You are a noob who can't create anything closer to this masterpiece
Why to not put the branch underneath the green material?
I should have done that haha. Didn't think of it.
Hahah I am an absolute newbie but thought the same, perhaps he didnt want to risk ruining the green screen? Just trying to guess 😁
can u make a video what a rig used for bmpcc is it's unique
Did you say why you chose to do motion tracking vs. tracking the camera?
A little shadow on the ground when she start to levitate could have improved the effects quality.
What did you use for a tripod for the foldable green screen?
NEED SOME SHADOW TO LOOK MORE DOPE

only one thing left behind to make this short real is ... a little bit of shadow effects
i really need help to achieve an effect for a project. Could send the script over

I guess doing it at a higher frame might have become less quality

Hey one thing I'm confused by. The plain shot of the forest you were moving with gimbal but the shot of your wife the camera was stationary?? How did you make the shot of your wife look like you were moving in same as the plain shot???
he tracked the gimbal layer and applied the tracking to the green screen layer.
