I have a funny comment, when my husband and I started dating, we were sitting in the car at the park, not doing anything but this song came on the radio and he said omg that's not why I brought you to the park lol... We were married almost 18 years however he unexpectedly passed away at 34, but songs and memories help with missing him...I still miss him and he's been gone since 1994. He was my best friend, not just my husband 💞
Thank you for playing this one.
I loved Rod Stewart's music and still do👍

Rod Stewart has eight children, all of whom he’s enormously close to. The oldest was born when he was a teenager (she was given up for adoption)…and she looked him up later in life. His daughter Kimberly (by his first wife Alana), has said in many interviews she cherishes her relationship and FRIENDSHIP with her dad. She also is the mother of Rod’s first grandchild. He’s said his favorite role in life is Dad!

Stewart joined a rhythm & blues group, the Dimensions, in 1963 as a harmonica player & part-time vocalist. In 1967, Stewart joined the Jeff Beck Group as vocalist & sometime songwriter. Later on he was part of the group "Small Faces"/"Faces" before he went solo. He had a lot of great hits such as Maggie May", "Reason To Believe", "Mandolin Wind", "The First Cut Is The Deepest", "You Wear It Well", "Sailing", "Tonight's The Night", "You're In My Heart, "Da Ya Think I'm Sexy", "Rhythm of My Heart", "Hot Legs", "I Was Only Joking", "Some Guys Have All The Luck" & many more.

You guys should check out Long John Baldry. John was a popular fold singer in England around the time the Beatles were just crushing the scene, and was one of their favorites. He had a band called the Steam Packet and one day on at a train station he happened upon a young man playing a wonderful harmonica and that young man turned out to be Rod Stewart. Later he met a young piano player he hired who turned out to be Elton John. So, both Rod and Elton played in the Steam Packet when they were young and learned the music business from Long John. Later, when Rod was playing a sold out concert at the Royal Albert Hall in London, he stopped the concert and had a 20 foot picture of Long John hung above his stage, saying that his mentor had died that day and he wanted people to know who gave him his first music job. I owned record stores in my college years and beyond from 1968-1971 and beyond so I was well schooled in all this music of my youth. It will be easy for you to find Long John, he recorded a lot of videos while in Canada before he died that are on UA-cam.

I drove limo for a while and the company I worked for had a deal with a couple record companies for when their artists played in town. When I drove Rod, he mostly he talked about model trains, which my uncle was into too, so that was cool. I remember I really liked the idea that he made sure to keep playing football, (soccer), because he knew he wasn't the best player on his team. He said that in his experience, humility looked like it was an important part of a successful rock star's career.

Saw several times in concert -> and each one was among the best concerts I ever attended. Rod covers all genres. Can't think of a bad selection.

You are right! His voice is so attractive. I remember staying at my "friends" house and this album side playing over and over all night long. While we were in bed.

It's amazing how Rod Stewart's focus changed after his son was born....from sexy hook-up songs to "May the good Lord be with you on every road you roam..." Listen to Forever Young! (By the way...the woman's voice at the end...she says in French, "but, what will my mother say?" and then a couple of other enthusiastic remarks...)

Actually there are 6 albums and they are called the Great American Songbook 1-6, those songs from the 1930-1960 are referred to as American standards, he also, in line with the Great American Songbook series, did Soulbook and Rockbook where he covered classic soul and rock songs.

He has so many great songs. As a Canadian, I love Never Give Up on a Dream. It was made to honour Terry Fox who ran across Canada to raise money for Cancer research. He didn't actually make it all the way across before the cancer took him. This song really honours him.

Rod Stewart started out with the Jeff Beck Group; his first hit was Boots of Spanish Leather. He is a part owner of the Manchester United soccer team, and played on an amateur soccer team in Los Angeles, usually on Saturdays in Griffith Park. He was very social and approachable.

Great reaction. My wife (according to her) is Rod Stewart’s BIGGEST FAN, so at times there is a lot of his music going through the house. Rod has some great recent songs to, released from albums after he done his American Song Book albums. Some of the songs tell his story of how he got started in music. “You Can’t Stop Me Now” is a great example of this.
Once again, great reaction, thanks for keeping the music alive.

This guy has like 40 huge hits. It's impossible to pick just one. One that stands out is " do ya think I'm sexy", mostly because he went out of his comfort zone, and did a disco song. He's a hardcore rock guy, so this song was definitely not his thing, yet it was one of his biggest

It might have been out of his comfort zone at first but he spent most of the 80s doing the same kind of song. Not all of them were disco but they were much shallower and emotionally stoic compared to his 70s songs. Plus every veteran rock act was doing a version of a disco song in the late 70s--Rod, the Stones, Kiss, the Grateful Dead. About the only band that didn't hop onto the fad was Zeppelin.
