I have had mine now for three weeks, love it. More speed than I need, VX3 controller is perfect. Change bushings to Orangotang nipples a huge improvment. cannot fault the board well done Ricky

My issue with the board are few, but specific. If you're still using the Tenka, I'd say you should reconsider that, or at least highlight the fact that there's a very real ceiling with that ESC, and that its performance and longevity isn't at all tested with any real scrutiny. I understand it's a cheap VESC based controller that's currently available, but it's limits are real, and they need to be underlined.
Also, looking at the motors, the braided sleeve really should extend into the enclosure. I've built with similar motors, and while the phase wires are longer and robust than others, they're still soft silicone insulated and subject to cuts from road debris. Either order the part with longer sheathing, or take the time and do it yourself.
Default use of the VX1 isn't something I'd say is surprising, but it is unfortunate. Their reliability is very low, and the amounts of cutouts in high signal areas is legitimately dangerous. Sure, not everyone lives in NYC, but the risk is real.
Best of luck with the venture. I just ask that if you're going to offer an alternative to what's on the market, put as much attention into the details as you can. And for the love of God, if you're outsourcing the battery packs, inspect them. Open them up and actually look at how they're built. At this point, it's inexcusable what many pack builders are passing off as safe. The battery community in eskate is relatively small but very knowledgeable. Consult with as many as possible when it comes to the most important part of the board. Specs are hollow if quality and workmanship isn't there.

100 miles into my M5. Amazing ride feel I agree. Brakes need to be stronger for me. Agree slightly longer deck would be better.
I’m 90kg and for me in gear 4 aggressive riding it is a 15 mile board.
Some minor build quality issues such as bolts missing countersunk washers and not using nylock nuts. Bushings def too soft also had to fix belt tension and two tyres don’t track true. However the biggest issue I have is that I have had three cutouts when fast accelerating, hoping this is a vesc fix, waiting to hear…
This does seem like really good value for money as far as boards in this price range go. I would love to get my hands on one and am looking forward to seeing the comparison with the black carve 2 as that is what I am currently riding. The looks are the only part of this board that I'm not wild about but I'm not really super attached to the exposed wood/ bamboo look that you get on so many boards. Could be cool to see a more blackended version in the future. Also being able to create alternatives to the hex pattern grip tape design seems really cool. A wheel remote with a screen would be cool in the future. Thanks for the vid.

I have the 50 mm at wheelsv for my lycaon trx 2 and they are sunmate as well , do you guys have issues with them being unbalanced at all . I cannot get mine to seat true and they are un ridable . cheers

Propel have knocked it out of the park with the Endeavor Pro. For an extra £250 it’s a much better board in my opinion.
That thing looks slick AF. I'm definitely eye that up for when I need to replace my Evolve
But the Endeavour isn't a street board 🤔

Good review and interesting board. Two questions, are the trucks the generic Chinese ones you criticized before and thought evolve trucks perform way better? When testing the flex it looked like a gap formed between the board and the enclose or am I wrong? Thanks

There 's indeed lots of room for improvement grip tape design-wise. Nice review.
I think the grip tape is fine. Maybe they can have different options available, but I'm ok with the one in the review

What would you say the best or your favourite e-skateboard is right now? I'm moving to Cambridge soon, and I know the roads a quite bumpy near the city centre, so was wondering what a suitable board would be for me.
Totally biased answer but it’s our own M5 🤷🏾♂️ I mean it but of course it’s bias. No other board for its price point gives you this ride and performance

I dunno because the braking is a separate trigger I can’t get used to using my thumb for braking and my pointer for acceleration. My breaking feels inconsistent. 🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

I've got a feeling that will be pretty far from a fair review. In this advert he hasn't said a single bad thing about the M5 but managed to squeeze in a few digs at evolve. I've ridden the M5. It's great considering the price. But there is plenty to complain about. I think he's given up on fair reviews. Just shilling now.
J'ai le mien depuis plus de deux mois . Débutant confirmé, j'ai parcouru plus de 600 kilomètres avec . Aucune chute, un pied total à chaque sortie, planche très confortable et sure. J'envisage de changer les gommes pour des plus dures aussi, la planche guidonne un peu à haute vitesse ( je fait 82 kilos ). J'attends juste le reste de ma commande, à savoir la VX 3, le chargeur rapide supplémentaire ainsi que deux autres courroies. Faut juste pas être pressé !!!!!!

@@boardenjoy2805 everyone is having production issues. A ton of vendors that build the pcb’s are still understaffed. Even in my IT job we’re hearing that some of our suppliers are a 10-20% staff so production is way down from pre-pandemic.

Depending on where you are, it's quite alot cheaper. A simple google would have shown you that, also there is already a report of the hadeans remote disconnecting while riding resulting in the rider crashing...
@@jaidencocking7881 I dealt with Evolve. I get why they cut off (GTX, GT, and GTR) but the Hadean losing connection that’s fakenews.

Dude, don't waste your time reviewing evolve, you know as well as me there ain't much improvement with the hayden compared to the gt'sfor the price you pay.
If I saved my money over the past few years instead of having the R2 repaired or replaced, I would of given that a whirl.
I can't wait to have my whole mind on the race and not part of it on the R2.
beg to differ : hundreds of board owners were asking for more speed, more range and a stronger controller : Compared to a GT (where you refer to) (or ditd you mean the GTR?) , it has double the battery capacity so i think Evolve did listen to his customers and fan-base . Sadly it comes at a hefty price.
Fair point but I think it still needs to be made. Although we make our own board. I still like to make the review videos. I enjoy the process

We’ve experienced major delays with shipping but are in communication with anyone that has ordered. Sometimes it can take us awhile to replying as we’ve been travelling for the last 2 and but weeks but everyone will always be replied to. We can’t control what is said on Reddit but everyone is entitled to say whatever they want. Again, we admit to unforeseen delays but are doing what we can to keep up with orders. Hope this answers your question.
@@averageeskatereviews If delays are an issue, rather than the replying individually perhaps regular updates with those recipients BCC'd in who have purchased but yet to receive may go a long way to proactively easing concerns. Having watched the Evolve affiliation podcast where a lack of communication was flagged as a very negative experience it may explain why some have taken to expressing their opinions this way. As a new company with a new product teething problems are a reality but when there is no physical store presence or representative to speak to then clear communication is vital to those that have invested. If quality of build with an attention to detail is in the final product linked with the energy and enthusiasm that Unknownboards [Chris and Ricky] clearly have for the eskate scene and the M5, then I think most people would be fine with a delay.

The wheels look really nice. Other than that it just seems like a generic board. Kinda seems like a beginner DIY kit board.

After riding it, it feels a lot like my cheap DIY board. That board just feels cheap and laggy. But it was my first build and I did it as cheap as possible. I was pretty disappointed when the M5 had the same cheap feeling. It's the big slow lag in the throttle that makes it hard to cruise at a controlled speed and the breaks are super blunt. All probably fine if you want nothing but savage speed. But it real world use I've found it just makes it feel very dangerous. Just hard to controll. I'm comparing this to the GTR mostly. As cheap and shitty as that remote feels, it's bang on responsive, you get the torque you give it instantly. So if you pull the trigger half in, you get half torque. But with M5 if you push about half way, the torque slowly ramps up and unless you got it perfect you're likely to ramp up too far, so you ease off and it slowly ramps down too low. Just super unresponsive which makes it harder to control. I definitely feel more safe on a GTR or Stoke. BUT it's their first board, hopefully No.2 fixes this.
@@marty9369 Do you not realize it has a VESC that is fully customizable? Everything you mention is a settings thing, connect to a pc and set everything the way you want. OR buy a BT module, plug it in and set eveyrthing via a phone app.
@@esk8spirit362 yeah I know. It's the same as my custom one. Still doesn't feel anything like the evolve no matter how I tinker with the curve in the vsec tool.

i have gtr and its alot of fun many people hate evolve because of probelms with the gtr but i think thye have all been fixed now
