    Price of this build was around £1500 GBP. Please bear in mind the battery was assembled by Ricky, this reduces the price significantly. Ricky is about to build another board so a full tutorial is coming shortly! Build time was 1.5 days.

      Board very similar is the demon board from propulsion boards. you can find them on youtube. I built one and putting the finishing touches on it. It's going to be amazing! They have a list for parts and they sell them on their website. All together it's around $1500 to $1800 but you could cut some corners in some places.

    Hi, great video, much appreciated. Regarding questions you asked for in the end: Can you tell us how heavy this custom board is (as is)? Also if it's not a secret how much approximately did you spend on it, just BOM cost if you don't mind? It would help a lot those of us who consider building their own first custom board and gives the rest a full picture in terms of pros and cons.

    • @rickyeverett
      @rickyeverett 3 роки тому +4

      Hey dude no worries appreciate the feedback so In terms of how heavy the boards is... it’s definitely heavier than the evolve or Onsra board but it’s not that much heavier, I can still pick the board up as easy and those boards it’s still easy the carry around, I don’t know the exact weight but it’s definitely heavier but not to point that it makes I’m the board hard to take around town or commute with, in terms of price it cost me the same money as a evolve gtr so about £1500 I am using high end components in the board so in terms of price vs performance you can’t go wrong.
      Hope this helps again thanks for your comment and supporting the channel 👍🏼

    You switched to DIY from Evolve for the exact reason I want to go DIY. I enjoy my Evolve GTR, but I feel like it underperformes. Also, does this board fit in your slick revolution backpack? I have the same bag.

    I’m still trying to understand wattage ratings for these boards. I’ve ridden an electric scooter rated at 1000w x2 motors and it wanted to take off on you if you’re not paying attention. It seems like 7000 watts on a board like this would rip your legs off, especially if geared for ‘only’ 37 mph.

    Hey guys I spoke to Eovan boards today in China and explained to them that although the specs of there boards look great power and range insane! They are to new for people to have confidence in them. They said more reviews were coming. I told them that its no good getting reviews done buy guys who can't ride a board to its limits going in straight lines for 30 miles means didly squat to me. So I told them that they need you guys to to a review as you are the most honest and the best rider review guys by far. If the board is shit they will tell you so . He said that his manager's had already talked about this but were hesitant because they assumed you were just pro evolve. To which I replied no Evolve are just one of the best so far . He said they will have a meeting about this and don't worry I told them you will charge them for your expert advise as this channel is well respected in the E skate world. Buy the way they are going to bring out next year a 1255P battery for a bamboo deck insane power cheers sean.

    Question: I know you guys like to stay in the 7" range of wheels. Do you think you can do an in depth video on different inflatable tire sizes? There's a huge difference in weight when comparing 7" evolve tires to 8" MBS tires...the 8" are surprisingly wayyyy lighter...but so are all MBS tires. Really dig in to tire pressure and knobby vs street. I know it all comes down to preference..but I ride MBS T3 8" all day on my evolve gt with a 56t drive gear and have no problem sliding that tail back n forth.

    great video love how your very experienced with esk8's
    I would like to share my opinion about evolve I think evolve is great and a good company but what I know is that with evolve you are 100% paying more than what your getting in terms of performance. This means no hate towards evolve.
    The reason to my opinion is because my dad and I have got into electric skateboarding for about a year a a half now. We had brought a meepo hurricane which is a great board with great feel it is the same feel to one of the higher end evolve boards but the thing is that the meepo is like 2 grand less than evolve and it may even be a bit better than the evolve.
    that's all I wanted to say with my experience
    So in the end all I'm trying to say is that evolve is definitely not as good as what your paying.

    this thing is super raw and I love it. I watched the first podcast where you talked about it and legit planned my board that night. I would like a video of programing the focbox unity with the app and computer. that is the only part that I am scared of. The battery is another question for me I thought that you would have gone for 21700 cells????? I can not wait for the second iteration of it. Here is another question, you built a board to run with the top dogs and I think that you won that fight. Do you think that you can build one that would be a super boosted?

    first off, I'm ignorant of building boards. But I have an imagination and a sort of design sensibility, so please humor me. You've obviously thought through what you want under your feet, and know WAY more than I do about what goes with what to acheive that effect, right. So, in light of all that...If you wanted to fully integrate the performance functionality which your chosen components clearly possess (great explanation of torque vs. range, dude)...uh. Ok, I'm thinking about the charms/curses of acceleration which rides on torque...I think. So, maybe it all comes down to terrain, cuz hills, man. Gimme power for hills right? I believe you guys spoke in another vid about being primarily urban riders (in which case...stairs/picking it up, etc?). SO, here's my main question/s. Is there not some way in the configuration of the trigger mechinism to "throttle back" or soften the delivery of all that power so you don't go flyin' off the thing when...ya know, you don't want to, LOL? Also, to give me a comparison what's your height and weight? Hey, thanks for the great content.

    • @bryanbouws8425
      @bryanbouws8425 3 роки тому

      Ofcourse. Every remote that we use has some sort of magnets inside and depending on the orientation that talks to the controller in the board to output said corresponding power. Full throttle will provide full amps for whichever setting you chose. A light feather-touch on the trigger will slightly raise the throttle value and so the board doesn't output it's max amps but just a few amps.
