if i went to look at a car and it had a wiper delete, that alone would be enough to make me walk away tbh tells me all i need to know about previous owner/owners 🤣
@@orbytl2799 Personally I would never delete the rear wiper on a hatch back as the window just gets covered in crap, but some people love their cars that much they dont like the way it looks with the rear wiper.
Start of the vid and i couldnt believe you paid 7k for this car but fingers crossed 4 ya. As for rear wipers i cant see why anyone would want to get rid of it its stupid.
Ps: I bought a brand new 208 GT auto 130bhp I have covered only 1300 miles but had to change it the whole cockpit is just too busy great performance for a 1.2 turbo plus paddles great fun but sadly not for me.
Bro you seem like a lovely guy and the mechanics taking advantage of your good nature I suggest you find yourself new mechanics who are just as good Nothing against Calvin but unfortunately when a business is busy they start to charge more money and in your case your trying to make the money so it doesn't make sense to go to mechanics who charge double when you can go to another mechanic and get job done for half the price I have subscribed bro you seem like kind humble guy even with regards to getting the car towed away sorry but I would have made the mechanic pay
I don't know how dealers make money on modern vag vehicles any longer. Everyone trades them in with underlying problems (which most have under 5 years old, oil burning, intermittent wiring faults etc). And then proceed to get it tarted up only for the owner to come back in 1-3 months with an engine light for something that was already a fault or a new dsg fault. They all have corroded wiring issues they all have mechanical issues due to the nature and poor execution of their design. All I used to see in the trade is sub 50k 2016 onwards vw's in the workshop under 5 years old. But people just buy a new model with another laundry list of common faults. Remember when your 2003 VW lasted 200k just routine maintenance? Now it needs a new digital climate control panel at 6 months old. 😂
I think you'll find the real reason the indicator was flashing fast would be down to either a wrong bulb fitted or the previous mirror was incorrect. it'll be nothing to do with coding. I've been in the trade 13 years and have never experienced a coding issues for fast flashing indicators. just food for thought
With the retail at £10k, there's no room left for cosmetic work and a profit margin Calvin. I fear you've gone a little strong on the initial purchase price of this one Mate!😬
What was he doing in matalan for the cops to rock up, order a tow truck and take car all whilst hes in matalan… guy is taking the pee. And younpaid to get it back 😂
With the price of the car, the mechanical side sorted and just body and repair to do, I can't see much profit but even though it's a cat N I'd rather buy a car that is mechanical sound then buying a non cat car and it be a lemon 👍🏻
The labour and VAT alone will be £1000 of that. New brakes all around. Spark plugs. Mirror. Parking sensor. Diagnostic and software flash. Genuine VW arch liners (£££ if direct from VW). 2K seems about right to me.
He saw you coming.....Came across as some one who'd been had over and was trying to escape with the least damage to his own finances. Rear wiper is a safety feature. I'd check if he left any airbags in place....
Hello Calvin don't know how to message you but I'm selling my r33 gtst 1996 nissan skyline wondering if you would be interested in it if so comment on here so I can find somewhere to contact you on full forge engine rebuild less then 5k miles ago but bells autos 435 bhp 320 tourque few bits in body but very clean for age let me know
IMO buying accident repair cars are FALSE economy ... Yes OK they are cheaper to buy ..BUT one day you will want to sell the car and guess what...It is STILL a CAT D so you will get less money when it comes to "Sell" time. DUH! EDIT... Some insurance companies may also charge a higher premium to insure them... It is NOT the 1970s anymore where information goes into a "Filing cabinet" ... They know EVERYTHING! Buying accident repair cars is false economy. They look like a good deal at the time of buying...But one day you will want to sell the car and the CAT D rating will still be with the car, It will be still worth less than market value when it comes to "Sell time" Far rather find the extra cash and buy a "Straight car" and look after it. It is a "No brainer" Double edit.... If you are buying the CAT D car and are going to run it into the ground and the next owner will be the scrap yard ..I can see the advantage of buying them in this scenario ... other than this they are false economy
Couldn’t meet a nicer bloke than Calvin. I hope the lad from VRS doesn’t take the mick to much as he seemed to go at bit over the top with repairing his cars. £2000 later your cars done ! How he makes a profit with this one will be a stretch. 🫣

Yes Calvin! Thank you for the kind words mate! Definitely overdue a meet up 🙌🏼
Definitely mate. We need to sort something out. Next time I’m passing your way I’ll give you a shout 🙌
A TR Hamza x Calvin collaboration would go hard!!
Facts
😂😂
WE NEED IT TO HAPPEN
Top notch idea
Why he dont do his own work that much
Seems over priced to me too, In an older video on another car he said labour for a cv boot is 1.5 hours he charges a lot
Everything you said you would do personally to the GTI I have done to mine 😂, apart from I went stage 3 not 2 😮💨
Then your selling it 😂
@@flippingcarsrepairs I’ve owned it for nearly 2 years Tbf 😂
I’ve never really needed a rear wiper as always use wing mirrors plus with rear camera you don’t even need to move your head.
Great video as ever Calvin. Gotta say Will is such a knowledgeable and nice guy... you know your car would be in safe hands at VRS, absolute legend!
Vrs pulled ya pants down! 2k?!
Wish i had a will in south Africa , awesome guy indeed 🙌knows VW so well
As soon as Will starts talking Calvin hears nothing, he simply has £££ dinging in his head, then leaves a broken man 🤣😂

That;s interesting...What does it tell you?
@@theenglishtrucker1849 tells me a muppet has owned the car at some point
Agreed, or when people list that it's stage whatever mapped, instant no no, for me. Less is more, all the modding adds no value at all.
Tells me your a wet wipe🎉

What a trader, never miss an opportunity - fella has written his car off 'time for a new car, do you live in MK?' 😂 Hope mechanic paid the 170!
As always great video & useful content calv ..
Love the way you & VRS work together # support local garages 👍🏻👍🏻🥇
Love the visits to VRS 💯 can’t wait for the next upload calvin!
I love how professional you’re doing all this calv.. will is a top bloke too🙌
its such a good concept to use youtube as a review platform for the cars youre selling
Calvin is so likeable and comes across very knowledgeable and passionate in his trade. enjoyable content.
I recently bought a gti and this video is really informative for me on what to look out for. Thanks Calvin, u and Will rocks! 👋
I miss some of the old style videos. New cars coming in, testing, speed test etc. hope to see some old school ones. But still a good view as always
Start of the vid and i couldnt believe you paid 7k for this car but fingers crossed 4 ya. As for rear wipers i cant see why anyone would want to get rid of it its stupid.
Definitely useful watching these videos I like watching Calvin's Car Diary
Will from VRS is brilliant. Nothing ever bothers him. Nothing is ever a problem.

Calv mate
Good luck with that motor
Cat and modified?
As a buyer I’d run a mile
But you and Will do work miracles 😂
Some Ebay used parts are more expensive than Genuine Dealer parts. Kia 4 by 4 rear light a good example.
Great video, liking these videos as very informative 👍
This is getting exciting mate, good luck 🤞
Great video Calv 👍
Great vid mate best of luck.
"So what is it time for a new car then?" 😂😂 Never miss an opportunity fair play
Really want the a3 saloon in dream car competition mate. Fingers crossed
How long was you mechanic in matalan for?! Recovery trucks take ages😂
Black wheels: great. Not a fan of after market wheels generally as they devalue the premium you’ve paid for the brand (IMO, of course 😂)
Great video. If this is a performance pack car where are the performance brakes or is it missing the GTI inserts for the brakes ?
Ford sierra xr4 had the door opening feature warning light with the car graphic display back in 1984 lol

Good content 👌🏼, but can you not use carVertical to check this car? See the damage
You've got to be a bit special if you remove your rear wiper.
You broke your own golden rule, you paid too much, however it is Utube you should get it back no worries
Over 2k for garage work he sees you coming cause of youtube your top geezer and dont deserve that silly bill
Some nice lookin e90s on binca making me wanna take a trip from northern ireland
Would look nice if you polish out the exhaust
GOT to be a Knnob to delete the rear wiper !!!! and only a Knnob would want the car with out it ,,, which means most guys will want the car
What was he doing in matalan for the cops to rock up, order a tow truck and take car all whilst hes in matalan… guy is taking the pee. And younpaid to get it back 😂
I’ve got a mk7 gti stage 2 dsg good car to own but when the water pump goes can’t be costly 😂
Great content as always!
Surely there’ll be no profit left in this deal especially after margin VAT.
2k! Wth way to much jeez
Also can you review a peugeot 107
Why the heck would he review a 107
He buys and sells hunnerds of bangers aswel as minters
😂
How long was he shopping in matalan for 🤔😂

Can you talk about the 1st time a car got towed 😂😂
This is the next car on planet of dreams as it’s over budget by £500- a grand. 😉
If I couldnt take my car to AKS this would be the next place on the list.
Stage 2 indicators 😂😂😂😂
It will be a amazing car for some one now 👍👍👍👍
VRS ££££££
If it ain’t broke don’t fix it 👍
Sick 👐🏻
brudda barely changed anything mechanically and got charged 2k? lol

Disks and pads are around £550 for front ones from vw. That's about a £1000 on brakes alone
Nobody said they were from VW look on euro car parts put the reg in they are not too expensive for pads and disks
@@tommydee5344 Most VW specialists charge only slightly less than VW. So it doesn't seem unreasonable for them to charge £1000 for it.
Not A Performace Pack Look At The Front Brakes.
