I can imagine there will be cheap mods, and probably an easy fix if you have a 3D printer. I do wonder why they bothered to use an advanced material such as carbon fiber but did not realize the paddle shifters were Frodo-compatible only.
I use this steering wheel, these paddles fit very ergonomically into this form factor, there are no problems with them. The worst thing is the pedals, they are terrible. Don't order the base + pedals.

@@randomcallsign do you think they have a cheaper shipping fee when you're buying from their site and you're based in asia? Btw fanatec is sold here via a supplier but they're double the price of their original MSRP so the only back for the buck option for DD locally is Moza since they're more easily accessible and they stick true to the MSRP
@@randomcallsign current update so far, the fanatec supplier that I've mentioned earlier is currently on the process of shipping a stock of Cammus C5 and they're quite close to the original MSRP so Im thankful that we have now currently have decent options regarding entry level direct drive wheelbases. The wheels looks a bit funky but the concept is really genius. The shape isn't a bad thing either. Most modern car steering wheels have big circular shaped pillows in the middle as they have an air bag. It wouldn't be hard to modify this design to look a bit more authentic to a road car.
@@randomcallsign The small D shape wheel is the main thing turning me off. I'll be getting either this or a Moza R3/R5 at some brick and mortar store, if I get this I will definitely experiment with replacing the wheel.
I have recently upgraded to the C5 after 4 years of G920. I'm impressed. It is mounted to my Playseat Challenge and I have no issue with the shifters (or compatibility with dirt rally 2). I may be in the minority here but I've never felt a desire for multiple wheel rims. I exclusively use VR so can't see what I am holding in any event. I paid £267 for the wheel and mount. For that price I think it is at least £130 cheaper than the competition

I was waiting for your review on the CAMMUS. Since I'm on a budget and play on a desk, it was something that got my attention when it came out. Keep up the good work!
The shifters I'll get used to/work around, being pc only, compatability isn't an issue, mostly use vr, so looks don't really matter to me. This thing + probably Thrustmaster T-LCM's being roughly the same price as a 5nm CSL DD wheelbase alone last time I looked, and way cheaper than logitech/thrustmaster DD options, I'm seriously considering it!
Cammus just blew my mind. At first I intend to go for the Logitech g923 but after seeing this video I'm having second thoughts. Mainly because the Cammus c5 provides more nm than the Logitech g923... Not to mention the price is hella AWESOME!
Are you kidding me? The main reason should be the fact that this is a direct drive wheel, while the G923 is an ancient cog-based wheel. They're in an entirely different league, where the G923 is a children's toy compared to the C5.
Definitely a better option than the G29 and G923, but not so sure about Fanatec. Simply because of the wheel rim limitations. Fanatec has the option to up it to 8Nm, while also having much better pedal system and the wide selection of rims. Having a wheel setup that has only a single rim configuration, that's already a bit small, is very limiting and a major turn off. At least they're thinking outside the box, though. I give them credit for that. I'm curious to see what Cammus brings to the table in the future.
Im on PC, Im buying this wheel and clamp but are pedals from other brands compatible with this? I just want 3 paddles and I also heard the break paddle is not as sturdy
Don't buy Thrustmaster anymore in 2024. And I say that as the owner of a T300RS. It was great years ago, but with the new competition everything changed.
