Turns out the ESC was to blame. Dont know if defective or the motor is pulling over 35amps but a 45amp ESC is allowing it to run the battery all the way down without overheating.
I did the KingVal 5400 in my Mojave (the $39 Amazon kit) and that thing does 52MPH with kinda high temps but no "thermaling". I installed the Rocket fan and moved the stock fan to the ESC and now over 200 runs latter its still going GREAT! Gets to 128* and stays there for the entire pack when racing. Figured the 6100 version would get me to 60+ in the lighter Losi but didnt realize until the motor got here that he 6100kv is a smaller motor and as such it does not have the TQ to push a 2.5lb car enough to reach that 6100kv rating. Oh well, live and learn. I think with the 5400kv version and gearing to a 21 or 22T pinion that it should be able to go over 60MPH AND stay cooler than the 6100 runs.
I think the problem you're having is that the motor is drawing too many amps from the esc. The kv and gearing is too high for 3s power. That system would be ideal for 2s and setup to run that way. Give it another chance on 2s and you should get great results. Great job! Keep up the good work! 👏🏻👍🏻
Yup. The 10 pack comes with markings to go all the way up to a 30t pinion. Wish finding .5M gears in that size was easier. lol I need to find a 48p spur then can find tons of gears easily.
The 19T does fine on the Mojave with the 5400kv version. Pretty sure the ESC that comes with the 6100 just isnt up to the task. The 35amp one the 5400 comes with is a much better ESC. I plan on swapping in my 45amp ESC on it and seeing how that does. If it still has an issue then I will just install a different system. I really want it to go over 70MPH
I haven't been able to find a answer to this. Hopefully you can tell me. The HR servo saver for arrma grom stock servo. The way it comes in the bag all I had to do was put it on. Should I have loosened it any. I checked it was screwed down tight. But I'm having more problems w/steering since I put it on them I did with stock plastic one. It's all over the place. I will align it pulling to one side it will run straight a couple Tigger pulls them be pulling to opposite side. What did I do wrong. Thanks
That’s the same set up I put on my granite grom. It’s an absolute beast. I love it. And hell yeah cheap and ez to swap out.

I got one of this kits from Amazon and a cheap 3s battery in my Mojave Grom and i got 48mph👍 good video.

For anyone wondering. Yes, you can flip the motor mount over to use it for larger pinions. Running a 29t right now

@@TheDudeRc I bought some .5mod pinions for my typhon grom on Amazon and they ended up being hit or miss. The 29t I am using right now is from there
Kick ass seabass 💥💥💥
LOL
Nice ! Only Need this motor ? The controller work the stock?
You need to add a new Tx
I would try a smaller pinion first and see what that does, then change the motor/esc if it's still undesirable

Your servo may be bad. My servo was failing on one of my Groms and was doing that as well. Replaced with the NDSRC one

The 2435 6100kv brushless motor has the same size than thé stock motor ?
Smaller by several mm
My grom does 86 4s
No need to epoxy. that's basically forever. E6000 is your friend. Can be removed but very strong hold.
The 3M seems to be fine on the Losi. The Mojave is my basher and crashes a lot so I need something a little more semi-permanent. LOL
Maybe gearing down might be faster.
ESC was at fault. Swapped in a cheaper but higher amp rating ESC and no thermal issues. Will re-test speed today and decide next move.
