On your AVC receiver, be sure to power up on a flat surface and leave the RC alone and let it auto-calibrate. After the wheels twitch left/right it’s calibrated and you’re good to go. The gyros need to calibrate themselves and moving makes that nearly impossible. Awesome vids, I totally agree on the front/rear suspension arms staying composite! I did upgrade my steering links to aluminum and it’s been great.😊
Same here. I ran the SR315 in this one a bit and in my Typhon Grom so never had the itch to buy the AVC version. I then realized the CEN doesnt really need AVC so yanked its 6200 and traded with the Mojave. I am super impressed and want to come up with a way to better mount it. Mojave was always pretty stable but this is a large step beyond. The thing does 55MPH with this setup and I can just fully squeeze the trigger from a stop and never have to touch the steering to keep it straight. Its a whole lot nicer now if I enter a turn too hot. I used to have to really drive it hard to keep from spinning. Now I just back off throttle a tad and it pulls itself right through the turn. I very much like it.
My stock diff held up fine for a long time. I bought some cheap Aliexpress all metal diffs just to be on the safe side. Turned out they were junk. Couldnt hold fluid, 50% of the screws came pre-stripped and just couldnt get a solid LSD action to them. Pulled them back out and put the stocks back in and truck handled SO much better. Problem was during a speed run. Truck just kissed 55MPH and lost control then slammed the butt hard against a 6" curb. That blew the plastic side gear and also hurt the servo. So glad the Arrma ones are back in stock! These oil filled all metal ones are VERY nice and keep the power to both sides much better than the stock one did. The little trucks handling is ON POINT now! :)
The grom platform looks pretty sloppy- the only thing putting me off. I have a Suchiyu 16102 pro which has a lot less slop than the brand new groms at the shop…
They do have some slop but putting them up against the Black Zon Slyder Turbo, the EZRC Colorado Brushless, the UDI brushless trophy truck, the Mini B Brushless, WL Toys (forget the name, looks like a tiny Infraction), LaTrax and the Groms just handle so much better and have superior control. Odd with how much slop they have that they handle so well. Not sure why that is. Maybe just enough looseness to compensate for the high speeds such a small car is going?
“Loose is fast” is what the rc track locals used to tell me when teaching new how to tune my team associated buggy back in the day. @theduderc - nice name haha first time bumping into your channel, at least noticing the name. You have WAY more followers but still not changing 😂
@@muscutt86 they were talking about binding, not slop- loose as in low resistance, but still almost 0 play. In racing no play is important for consistent handling
You should tell your friends to stop buying cheap aluminum parts because a truck of that size and weight shouldn’t be bending aluminum arms especially if they’re made out of quality aluminum
True. I went with the Hot Racing arms for my Mojave Grom with the BLX brushless esc/motor setup and I think the same, it shouldn't bend since it's so light weight but just gotta use quality arms.

@@magnusstone yes and for the steering rack you can use shrink wrap depending on where you're getting slop from.
