What disturbs me is that no one during Weiss's concert ("Mirror Mirror") understood (or didn't bother to care to understand) the underlying meaning of her song. It feels to me as if she crying for help, yet no one bothers to really care. Weiss is a mere trophy. Beautiful voice and appearance, yet they saw her as a pretty doll. When Weiss was singing "This Life is Mine", her father and brother just stared coldly as if they didn't care. Deep down, I feel they knew she was basically speaking against her abusive father.
Hmm. Looking it up, she might've been fourteen; born late '98, she turned fourteen a few months before the White Trailer hit. She was thirteen when the Red Trailer was released, though. Really makes you feel like a loser, doesn't it?
oftentimes victims of domestic violence and abuse by their parents end up being afraid that they will turn out just like their parents. so I just realized that the whole "mirror" could be a metaphor of her being afraid that she is her dad. I mean I knew it was about her dad and whatnot but I never really thought of it like that before. this life is mine just perfectly captures a lot of the emotions that come with abuse, it kind of blows my mind.
Her mirror is the part of her that tells her to be good and listen to daddy, it was what caused her to be very... Rude... In volume 1. But now she has shattered that part of her, moved on. As seen in this life is mine "this conversations finally over mirror mirror now we're done."
I would also like to add that in "This Life is Mine" it mentions a "patriarchal prison". The word "Patriarch" stems from the Latin word "pater" witch means "father". I'll let you interpret that yourself.
I don't even understand why people even liked this comment. The comment would've been fine without the *nobody:* part. It's like the utmost common comment and like why people even find it funny? It's not even clever anymore now that everyone uses it

I can't believe I only just realized - hearing for maybe the half-dozenth time the line "I'm shattering the mirror that kept me split in pieces" - that Weiss is based on the Snow Queen.
@@SianNadine It's possible she could have inspiration from both. They have given certain characters multiple inspirations. Ruby for example is obviously Little Red Riding Hood, but she also has inspiration from Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz.

This is one of the real reasons why Weiss is the best character in the show. Her themes line up and tell her story from her perspective, letting us know more about it and her feelings that were not clarified in the show. The show just did what it should, show rather than tell. The music filled us in on the little gaps missing.
Umm... That's all the characters, dude. They all went through developement which was complemented by their themes. Sure, some took it more slowly. Ruby's arc for example is still ongoing, as her struggle was very different (watching her friends suffer and being unable to help, as opposed to suffering on her own and trying to overcome the pain). She didn't have to be the leader for a long time, but as things are falling apart in volume 7 she will have to learn how to lead because anyone else who could do that (Ironwood/ Ozpin/ Qrow) is out of the picture. But they're all coming along nicely. And I wouldn't say the show perfectly followed the "Show, don't tell" principle, but it showed alot for sure. So the guy who said it didn't is just another hater full of shit, but we're already kinda used to those at this point.
*Has beautiful transition between Mirror Mirror parts 1 & 2* UA-cam: "What a perfect place to put an ad!" No seriously, the transition is so smooth that I expect to hear it every time I listen to Part 1 on its own.
Gonna echo the Battle of the Bands arc in RWBY Chibi, Nora drumming, Yang is lead guitar, Ruby is bass. Could upgrade Blake to synths for mixing in the orchestral parts and/or the choral parts. But the whole team as backing vocals, for sure.
Weiss has the best story arc, the best songs, the best character design, and Casey is her singing VA. She's the real main character of RWBY. Weiss is secretly the singer of all RWBY songs.
The magic of these pieces is it opens up Weiss as a character, making her much more relatable by showing that inside, she has issues that even the lowliest of us can face. I really appreciate the sentiment of lowering a lofty and important character down to earth.

Anyone with a Jacque in their life can relate to all three of these songs. You can have everything you want in the world, but that person will still find a way to tear you down and make your life a living hell. When you finally start to question the abuser, it can feel like you are going insane. They will make you feel like you are the crazy one when you are having a perfectly normal reaction to an abnormal situation. Finally when you reclaim your life, it is extremely freeing, but also terrifying. You don't know how that person will respond. They could lash out. They could do nothing. Its a shot in the dark. But the best revenge against them, the best karma, is your success and happiness. Weiss's story and her relationship with her dad is extremely powerful. I know she resonated with me from episode one. This seemingly strong fearless hard headed young woman with a lot of skeletons in her closet. Its relatable and makes her a deeper character than I think people give her credit for
As someone who often feels like they change every couple months, especially at her age, I think the whole argument about how Weiss changed her opinion of Ruby and her leadership too fast, I disagree. Often people are forced to act a way unlike the way they wish to by circumstance. I think her family and lineage forced Weiss to be acting snobby or full of herself, or rather her family. When she was shown that the attitude she had her whole life (instilled by her father's intentions for her) wasn't going to function for her to work well with her team, she realised she could try being herself (even if she might not know precisely what that is). She goes on to still retain her attitude at sometimes (whether that could be because she is still instinctively acting the way she used to or that could just be a part of her), but ultimately she gets to grow as herself instead of the doll her father wanted to represent the family.
I know everybody wants 'It's My Turn' in this, but I really feel like that'd just be jarring to throw in the middle of these songs, it's tone and style is completely different than the others. I don't think it'd work as well as you all want it to. The creator of this video did a fantastic job of recognizing that and leaving it out in my opinion.
Tropic Hawk I completely agree. It would've been awkward to go from an acoustic, slow progression to some rock, then right back to it. Not to mention the SERIOUS editing it would take to make it flow (if possible at all).
Patti Eck - Even a reflection would clearly show that Weiss would hold her weapon in her left hand. This does not mean it is a bad drawing or something .. it is just an interesting quirk .. there is more fan art of Weiss out there holding her weapon in the inappropriate hand.
Deus Ex Machina - Truly? If I may ask where precisely? The only combat situations I know of that involve Weiss wielding her weapon she has only done so with her left hand .. she is also established as a lefty ... I may have missed something at which I gracefully concede the point however .. I am curious.
Honestly, every time I listen to part 1, I get chills all over my body. It's just so cool and put together in an epic way. Of course, I'm listening to it with headphones at max volume.
I like how in the first two parts, we hear mostly piano and other musical sounds and styles that bring to mind propriety, high class etc, with only a hint of musical styles that were at some point in their early days classified as "improper" in some way. Like their there, but are either being repressed or suppressed, possibly both. Then in the final part, rock bursts out of nowhere and quite literally says (though worded slightly differently): "This is who I am and who I've always been, and there's nothing you can do about it anymore!" The way the musical styling choices even mirror (pun not intended) Wiess's development is so cool, and why Jeff Williams is so talented.
Hey this thing is like a representation of how much I like Weiss, at first I hated it but then it grew on me over time and at the end I was like hell yeah
apocaliptix penguin I was not expecting to like Weiss as much as I do, from the type of characters I usually go for, Blake should have been my favorite. And, the straining and mildly amateurish vocal quality of the first volume's songs (particularly I Burn) was grating to me. but they've grown on me and I honestly love these songs now and I'm really rooting for her.
Casey Lee Williams, and my enjoyment of singing along has, as of *right now* encouraged me to get better at singing, and otherwise general voice control
I stopped watching RWBY after volume six, but I always come back to the music. The character development that Wiess had was A+ and her songs perfectly display that. I dunno what they've done with her in recent volumes but she was by far my favorite. Still love her. Also her songs are my favorite, I really love the style they feel way different than most of the RWBY songs and I'm here for it.
Honestly I cried the first time I heard "This life is mine" because I relate to every word in that song. It was so surreal. Weiss as a Character is like a Carbon Copy of my life. Down to the way her dad acts and everything. I love this comp.
I know these songs by heart at this point and play them in my head on a regular basis. But it’s just so much more powerful and beautiful when listening to them.
Anova 20XX I knooww I'm working on making the edit now hopefully with the videos and lyrics included but I have to wait for the volume 5 ost to come out so I can get the official version of the new one
GamingNinja999 This Life Is Mine technically isn't part of Mirror Mirror but they both mention the mirror. Path of Isolation "Mirror, what's this thing I see? Who is staring back at me? A stranger to me heart and mind. Mirror, help me Who am I?' in the rhythm of Mirror Mirror This Life is Mine Now this conversation's finally over Mirror mirror, now we're done I've pulled myself together now My mind and heart are one. I would argue that It's My Turn isn't part of the Mirror Mirror arc because there is no mention of the mirror, rather she is just talking about her dad. If you try to correct me on the lyrics I really couldn't care less
I made that comment on my phone. Looking back over it on the laptop... Why the hell did I say it isn't part of the mirror Mirror arc? What in the world is wrong with me? Of course it's part of the Mirror Mirror arc!
it's nice to finally find all these songs pieced together in one video. though, if I were to make a request, I'd ask that you add "It's My Turn" to the video. The song applies to Weiss, just like the others, and says a lot about her.
Weiss' songs are always my favourite because theyre deep and it shows much much more emotions than the other characters... which made me love weiss cream so much! :3
This is honestly my favorite song (series of songs) in RWBY. Honestly the whole dang soundtrack is amazing, but this one always hits the personal note for me. This turns the hated rich bitch in vol 1 into one of the most dynamic characters throughout the whole show. I love how the show at face value develops characters, but the song lyrics always add these extra layers that just add so much to the meaning of everything. Not to mention the songs always somehow perfectly mish-mash different song genres into each other. It never seems out of place or awkward that a slow emotional song, an opera sort of thing, and rocky metal just fuse right into each other so perfectly. A+++
Ruby Rose was a cheerful girl Yang Xiao Long was a tough girl Weiss Schnee was a polite girl Blake Belladonna was a scarred girl Jaune Arc was a scared boy Nora Valkyrie was an eccentric girl Lie Ren was a tired boy Pyrrha Nikos was a strong girl . Ruby Rose is a gentle girl Yang Xiao Long is a scared girl Weiss Schnee is a calculative girl Blake Belladonna is a free girl Jaune Arc is a healer Nora Valkyrie is a powerful girl Lie Ren is a quite boy Pyrrha Nikos is a dead girl
For the longest time, I thought Weiss's scar was a power up... because in her trailer it was highlighted. So I thought later in combat it would glow and grow, and she'd get cooler or stronger powers... but no. The scar is just a reminder of a past fight.
I felt this song so strongly that I can barely breath right now after listening to the lyrics, I felt every word of that and my chest hurts, I feel so emotional and numb all at once now
Dude, I just found out that Oli London's song has the same name as this and I felt like I just watched a Kris Jenner's unfinished clone flexed on me. I was looking for this but I got curious which I immediately regret as soon as I watched it for like 3 seconds. Thank god there's something great with the same name. Thank u because u saved me from having nightmares about Oli London.
Wiess is one of my favorite character in rwby because of her back story i have heard her song so many time and think of what the song mean and I think the 'mirror' reffer to her self she has been reaching out for her self want to be free from her father control she wanted to changes but she don't want to be a disappointment for her father, but in the song of 'this life is mine' she change, when she say 'servility' it mean please other people when she change her self the mirror is broken and her mind and heart are one now,she is free from her father control and have the courage to fight back.
Weiss. A little girl abused by her father and neglected by her mother. But she's rich, so everything's toxic-free, right?...no. Weiss might have came off as cold, but beneath that exterior lies a good heart and a wounded soul. It's hard to feel sympathy for a drunk mother who at best, helped Jacques Schnee into raising racist ideals into Weiss and her siblings from fucking childhood. Only Weiss had the strength to change her heart for the sake of a new friend dear to her (Blake). You never saw Willow, Winter, Jacques or even Whitley do that. RWBY has kinda fallen off the deep end to a point _I_ could assist in its writing as a CRWBY member (something I'm willing to pursue in life at this point), but I will always see Weiss as an icon, because she had that strength to change over time and become a stronger, better and lovable person for it overall. She really is an underrated queen, both in and out ❄ (And her voice is fucking uniquely iconic, shoutouts to Kara Eberle!)
What disturbs me is that no one during Weiss's concert ("Mirror Mirror") understood (or didn't bother to care to understand) the underlying meaning of her song. It feels to me as if she crying for help, yet no one bothers to really care. Weiss is a mere trophy. Beautiful voice and appearance, yet they saw her as a pretty doll. marics YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH😂😭
You had to go there, didn't you?
The transitions are just so well put together, why doesn't this have more likes and views?
So, who else is here binging Weiss songs after Season 5 Chapter 11?
stomyn 😢
Casey Lee Williams, and my enjoyment of singing along has, as of *right now* encouraged me to get better at singing, and otherwise general voice control
I would like to see Weiss change her outfit to something more fitting of an outcast. Something more rugged, or functional.
So, hobo clothes?
Then season 7 came
@@rogaldorn605 Yes. Yes it did.
@@zachbrancato1970 lmao
If weiss dies...
there's no ice queen ;-;
...We will all have to LET IT GO if it happens.
I usually like puns, but that one took it too far.
DuckOliver19 dude just chill out
Winter
She'll be melted and evaporated
I stopped watching RWBY after volume six, but I always come back to the music. The character development that Wiess had was A+ and her songs perfectly display that. I dunno what they've done with her in recent volumes but she was by far my favorite. Still love her. Also her songs are my favorite, I really love the style they feel way different than most of the RWBY songs and I'm here for it.
I miss the old days of RWBY.
Same
Same, past me
I feel like a teenage girl that's going through her rebellious phase listening to this
Basically what it is except Weiss had full right and reason to do so.
@Allan Vega yikes dude
Honestly I cried the first time I heard "This life is mine" because I relate to every word in that song. It was so surreal. Weiss as a Character is like a Carbon Copy of my life. Down to the way her dad acts and everything. I love this comp.
I didn't remember Weiss had 3 parts. Also DAMN that transition from part 1 to 2 is amazing.
I sat down to watch this. Worth it.
The Gummy Chair your making sitting down look like a bad thing
I know these songs by heart at this point and play them in my head on a regular basis. But it’s just so much more powerful and beautiful when listening to them.
such voice is one of the best i ever heard!
Now we need the 24 hour version
Nooo.
s o f i u u h just loop it UA-cam that that feature (on the PC no phone version loop I don't think) for a reason 😂
These are some of, if not the most beautiful songs I’ve ever heard.
So happy this was finally made!!! It's really well done too! Great job!!!
There's another now. In the new Weiss character short. But I love these, keep it up.
Anova 20XX That's not mirror mirror that song is called Path of isolation
Anova 20XX I knooww I'm working on making the edit now hopefully with the videos and lyrics included but I have to wait for the volume 5 ost to come out so I can get the official version of the new one
GamingNinja999 This Life Is Mine technically isn't part of Mirror Mirror but they both mention the mirror.
Path of Isolation
"Mirror, what's this thing I see?
Who is staring back at me?
A stranger to me heart and mind.
Mirror, help me
Who am I?' in the rhythm of Mirror Mirror
This Life is Mine
Now this conversation's finally over
Mirror mirror, now we're done
I've pulled myself together now
My mind and heart are one.
I would argue that It's My Turn isn't part of the Mirror Mirror arc because there is no mention of the mirror, rather she is just talking about her dad. If you try to correct me on the lyrics I really couldn't care less
Anova 20XX that's path of isolation
I made that comment on my phone. Looking back over it on the laptop... Why the hell did I say it isn't part of the mirror Mirror arc? What in the world is wrong with me? Of course it's part of the Mirror Mirror arc!
it's nice to finally find all these songs pieced together in one video. though, if I were to make a request, I'd ask that you add "It's My Turn" to the video. The song applies to Weiss, just like the others, and says a lot about her.
Fusiongamer777 Except that doesn't talk about mirrors at all.
Flametusk I guess that's true, but you could flub the name of the video a little bit to incorporate it.
Flametusk it does talk about mirrors she finally found herself or "shatters" so two parts could be one
Fusiongamer777 Well a new one was added today.
KhaanMan66 if you mean the one in the volume 5 character short that isn't mirror mirror it's called Path of isolation
I got literal chills in my spine while listening to this
Nobody:
When you enter the velvet room: 1:40
Her Armored Knight is just her Persona
I was listening on, them I hit the first transition.... And the like button. Great job on the transitions!
might be my fav song
I love this song!
Thank you!!!
Omg, thanks for replying! :)
OUR LITTLE SNOWFLAKE HAS COME SO FAR IM SO PROUD OF YOU BEST GIRL
1:19 that piano gets me every time
Ruby Rose was a cheerful girl
Yang Xiao Long was a tough girl
Weiss Schnee was a polite girl
Blake Belladonna was a scarred girl
Jaune Arc was a scared boy
Nora Valkyrie was an eccentric girl
Lie Ren was a tired boy
Pyrrha Nikos was a strong girl
.
Ruby Rose is a gentle girl
Yang Xiao Long is a scared girl
Weiss Schnee is a calculative girl
Blake Belladonna is a free girl
Jaune Arc is a healer
Nora Valkyrie is a powerful girl
Lie Ren is a quite boy
Pyrrha Nikos is a dead girl
Why you gotta come at me with Pyrrah being dead
Damn thats just cold like Ice queen
Why did I laugh at the pyrrha being dead I love her she was and is my favorite character
Jaune isn't a healer, he's a battery
@@cjthenarhwalking1378 this was the corniest thing ive ever commented why would you remind me of this

Mirror mirror part 2 has such a lo-fi feel to it, it's amazing.

Sky澄 Skychen fuck you she's mine
Whoaa not so fast boys
Damn you guys cold like Ice Queen just Damn
This life is mine is also called mirror mirror III its written on the albums playlist
I love these songs so very much!:)
For the longest time, I thought Weiss's scar was a power up... because in her trailer it was highlighted. So I thought later in combat it would glow and grow, and she'd get cooler or stronger powers... but no. The scar is just a reminder of a past fight.
I felt this song so strongly that I can barely breath right now after listening to the lyrics, I felt every word of that and my chest hurts, I feel so emotional and numb all at once now
The "tell me can a heart be turned to stone" is the first refren like phrase i ever heard which i am sad is not repeated
You should do one with all the current RWBY openings back to back
ill try to do that
I appreciate the fact that you did this. I live for the RWBY soundtrack so this was awesome, thanks
add a zero to each of these numbers now :v
Ive bin searching all over youtube for the last 1 minute of this video. This is the only place
When the full version of Path To Isolation hits, you'll need to add it to this.
lol i will
Those are some of the smoothest transitions ever
Finally, someone did this. Thank you
Thanks Eail!! I enjoyed this a lot!!
Good job on the transitions from song to song I wish I were that talented
This is probably my top favorite songs from RWBY. There isn’t a bad song but these just have a feeling behind them.
i love this song in RWBY what a voice !
Hmm yes
Perfection
Such great music!
Damn, this makes me cry just like Red Like Roses part 2 did!
It seems like the new short is a bit of prequel to the first part here, and I love how it all seems to flow together into one complete progression.
The character with the most character development shows the most development throughout her themes as well.
Character development, the musical
Now I can relate to Weiss .... So much of the feels 💙💙💙😓😓😓
Wow I got tears in my eyes it’s just so lovely and I want this to be played at my wedding reception for the slow song lol
khia griffin i have tears im my eye for a different reason
3rd song.....GO WEISS😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁!!!!!!!!
woo
Rogue Shadow222 yeah!
She really is an underrated queen, both in and out ❄
(And her voice is fucking uniquely iconic, shoutouts to Kara Eberle!)
The second part hits me so personally cause I can relate to so many parts of the lyrics
I really love how Monty designed Weiss to have a scar looks like a beauty mark on her left eye..
all 32 dislikes are Jacques fans
it’s 60 now
How does that many people like that big of an asshole
it's now 70
naw it's just a ton of SDC bots that Jacque has XD
The transition between songs is so smooth I hardly noticed it all of em might as well just be one giant ass song
I sang the whole thing!~ this is so amazing!~
This Life Is Mine is 100% my favourite Weiss song
