The way they add all stages and condense is how I always assumed the game was supposed to be tbh
You're not wrong. A bunch of acts in Colors were supposed to be optional but at some point everything was cut up and remixed to pad runtime. So a full Generations/Unleashed style level will then get chopped into two or three acts, and then the four or five bonus acts were made mandatory. The limitations of porting Colors levels to Generations actually ends up condensing everything into an all killer no filler package, as it was originally meant to be before development priorities changed.
I like how it looks.
Seems like sonic colors but less gimmicky and, as a result, speedier.
So basically, Sonic Colours but with flow? I like it.
You could convince me this is Sonic Colors Ultimate
I really like that Sonic’s feet actually move at a believable speed while boosting.

Wild that the entire boost line up of 3D Sonic has been ported/remade with Generations.
I kinda want the next boost game to go beyond the limits that Unleashed and Generations so we can see something that won't be possible to recreate and outdo, but given how Forces turned out. Maybe it is for the best that they don't try.

Also, why would you say that? SEGA/Sonic Team SHOULD try to make good Sonic games, REGARDLESS if the last one was bad or mediocre.
@@DarkShadowX9 I'm talking specifically about Boost games. Colours and especially Forces outside of relatively minor additions are diluted versions of Unleashed/Generations as I understand it.
Colours, Unwiished and even Forces have the right to be developed but it is less interesting if we are replacing it more than appreciating it.
If they made a Boost game to surpass Unleashed/Generations or better yet IMO, something different, it would be nice to see. Lost World wasn't perfect, but it was the only non-boost game in 3D since 2010. It has almost been ten years, so I hope Frontiers carves a niche rather than being a bad parody of Generations.
@@thelastgogeta Yeah, no.. I can't appreciate ANYTHING about Forces, that game was awful.. in my opinion. Even Colors was mediocre, but I could appreciate SOME things about that game, especially Unwiished (even though the HD version of Unleashed is my favorite version of the game).
Colors is fine even the ds version was good but hey opinions.
Id say forces was really very average as a game itself but if were comparing it to his other ones then yes its the weakest one. Main problem for me was the length of the levels, how sonic controls and drift removed (idk why they did)
I would still play forces over sonic 06 because good god that game was ultra dog shit. Only saving grace is breaking the game
i couldnt care less about his stories after unleashed especially since most his stories are always simple/basic. I still give sonic props that they least try different things in his games unlike some games where you played one you played them all.

Replicating Wisps in the very level design is really cool!(how are they replicating Laser?) It'd be neat if it was like that in actual Colors and so on

Yup! It's an issue with the HUD & UI mod, but unfortunately it's not something that I can really change

Actually, I just noticed that your game displays the “Good Great Awesome” etc. messages. The mod I use only does the audio, which mod is adding the text? Is it the UI mod?
I actually thought it was the audio mod, but perhaps it is the HUD afterall. It's one of the two but forget off hand.

Anyway, I sold my PS4 and bought a series S with sonic colours. Runs way better than the PS4 version. Way more addicting and responsive. Try it on next gen as soon as you can
