Loving the dust free sanding! The cove molding looks great, blue color is lovely and the wallpaper is serene, delicate and very French. What a beautiful room…. 🎉🎉
I really enjoy your no nonsense explanations, written text and no annoying music. That blue is a lovely shade, the room looks great!👍 Happy New Year to you all. x
I love the drywall sander and wish they'd been around 45 yrs ago when I built my house. Glad you're including little details like the molding and rose.
I love the colors you chose. I think the ceiling fixture is a little too big. I bet you could find an appropriate vintage chandelier at a brocante or flea market (three bulbs would be a good size).
Just discovered your channel and will be marathon watching, I guess. Love that blue colour on the walls. I am really envious of your skill set and your energy! Great job.
Coming together beautifully! Great colour choices. Can’t wait to see when it’s all complete. Must be exciting to know you are close to having one room done 😊
Painting over lining paper is something I've done several times. The lining paper in my home was installed long before I moved in. It has a texture. No matter the type of paint (I use matte or satin) the surface is much more interesting than plain plaster walls. I enjoy watching your projects, meticulous approach.
What I wasn't aware of is that lining paper has two different surfaces depending on which side you have out. One side is smoother than the other. I used the slightly rougher side as it is meant to minimise roller marks
Fab job love the blue, the room looks nice and clean, and the wallpaper is beautiful, looking forward to the finished room. Happy new year to you and your Wife, take care Sandy xx
The pasting table is horrible to use though, it is very light and moves all over the place when you try to brush on the paste. The legs are too close to the middle to give good stability. I may have a go at improving it before I next use it. I had a great table but it was too narrow so I thought I'd treat myself to a new one, may transfer the legs from the old one
I was a little worried that it would look a poor substitute to plasterwork too, but it actually looks rather good. I think a coat of the wall sealer does a lot to improve the surface before final painting
Great work, the room looks beautiful already. Wallpaper matches perfectly with the paint. I think very light blue sheer curtains complete the room. Thank you for sharing ☺️
With the small roller I don't get the same splatter that you get with a big one. Plus I can hold the paint tray in the other hand, so no bending or walking over to the tray.
Looks really good. May I make a suggestion? Why not put all your moldings and floor boards on after you paint and paper so you don't have to spend so much time with the cutting in and painting around the them?
lining paper is designed to smooth out imperfections. Normally you hang it horizontally then paper vertically as normal over the top of it, but it also gives a good surface to paint onto too.
@@frenchhouseadventure Interesting that you normally hang it horizontally. Nope - never heard of it. I have wallpapered plenty. My mother used to say a test of whether or not a marriage will last is to have the couple wallpaper a small bathroom together, lol. Enjoy your vids. Beautiful work.
I have been following your french adventure for a while. Its so nice you decided to buy an old house with so much potential and giving it a new life. Congratulations and keep going !!
Beautiful work. The “finishing paper” is something I’ve not heard of... do the paper seams not show when painted? Suppose it also adds to the “antique” ambiance of the walls. Very nice finish!
Really great work!!! I have one small complaint tho, the windowsill, think they look much more finished off if the wood is bought beyond the reveal for a couple of inches and not cut off straight with the reveal!!! Happy New Year,,,,
That is what I was taught then I saw a professional butt joining some so asked him, he replied that for plaster mouldings that was the case but when it is extruded plastic then a factory but joint will hide just as well
When you fit skirting there is always a small gap that needs filling along the top edge so you would still need to touch up the paintwork. At some point you have to cut in the paintwork.

Bedroom is looking good. That’s a lot of work putting up the lining. The paint colour is wonderful and feature wallpaper outstanding.👍

Very impressive coving application - particularly the finger tool! Very efficient.
What a superb finish to that bedroom. Great to watch someone doing such a thorough job.
That blue is a gorgeous colour. It would go beautifully with French blue & white country style paper and bedding 😍
I never heard of lining paper before, I can see where it would help on older plaster walls with a little bit of a rough surface. Nice job!

Looks great. You're very good hanging wallpaper.

Looks great!! Well done.
I enjoy the time lapse because it makes the task seem like much less work than it actually is :)
gorgeous!
This is beautiful!
Thank you
That's a sexy cutting table there. I reckon with as much wallpapering as you'll do it's absolutely necessary.

Bravo !!!! Quel beau travail 👏
This room looks lovely and I’m enjoying your process and explanation. You would never know that the detail at the ceiling isn’t plaster. Thank you

Wow, great job. Just wondering if next time you wall paper around the plug ins, could you show how you do that. Thanks. 🇨🇦
Look beautiful. It has a mystical look. Cheers from Oz.
Looks lovely, great progress.
The room turned out great but I have to say that is one small roller. oh and a beautiful colour.
With the small roller I don't get the same splatter that you get with a big one. Plus I can hold the paint tray in the other hand, so no bending or walking over to the tray.

Very pretty and very good Job!
Hi
Very pretty
Lovely!!!
very nice! I like the wallpaper.
Love the trim demonstration. Beautiful
well done!
You make papering look easy! Great job! Can’t wait to see more.
Papering is my favourite thing to do
Beautiful work.
I've never heard of liner paper. Good to know!

As long as you get the edges of the paper close, but not overlapping, then the join doesn't show when it's painted
Really great work!!! I have one small complaint tho, the windowsill, think they look much more finished off if the wood is bought beyond the reveal for a couple of inches and not cut off straight with the reveal!!! Happy New Year,,,,
It is behind the curtains anyway so its not a detail I felt necessary to do this time.
When jointing 2 straight pieces of coving, you will get a better joint and finish if you use 45 degree instead of 90 degree cuts.
That is what I was taught then I saw a professional butt joining some so asked him, he replied that for plaster mouldings that was the case but when it is extruded plastic then a factory but joint will hide just as well
Wouldn't it been easier to paint first before you put up the coving and skirting boards?
When you fit skirting there is always a small gap that needs filling along the top edge so you would still need to touch up the paintwork. At some point you have to cut in the paintwork.
Did you have to take down the chandelier or cut Rosette in half to install?
The chandelier was taken down to fit the rose
I love that blue. Could you tell me the name and the company please?
It was brico-depot's own brand "GoodHome" and the colour is toulon
@@frenchhouseadventure thank you
You can put music over the sound of the video.
you've got to be joking using that ugly wallpaper !!!
Was that necessary? He not decorating your home.
I choose the wallpaper and it is beautiful and suites the room
