- Flipper's is the OG soufflé pancake in Japan, boasting a cult following throughout Asia. It's finally made the move to the States, opening its first US outpost in Manhattan. With a pancake that takes 10 times as long to make as it does to eat, the line of customers waiting to try this delicacy stretches out the door.

Japan's Cult-Favorite Fluffy Pancakes Are Now In NYC | Line Around The Block
"What's better than pancakes for breakfast?"
Me: If I'm in that queue, it seems like I'll only get the pancakes for lunch
Better than nothing dude, and it's delicious 😋
Nurul Fitriya Ainie haha for real
IHOP and Denny's: we make great pancakes
Japan: Hold my sake
don't knock it if you don't try it :)
I'd rather go to ihop and not have to wait. Give it a few months, nobody will be lining up.
And I'd rather eat at IHOP or Denny's
The problem is, that I still have to travel to try those anyhow. I'm in California. 😂
@@yourdaddyonceler1239 hey daddy ! I got something you could taste
Let’s be honest, most people in that line are in it for the gram.
FBI u on a mission too

@@NotTheFBI_OFFICIAL what agency? And which one are you
Well we're going to need a new saying, now that "flat as a pancake" is no more!

Passion for food tbh, your profile picture looks like a serial killer
@@experience1735 lol well crap I guess I need a new picture huh?
this girl gets paid to eat what a job
@It's a Bunnay I think so too
but she's annoying as shit
Same girl who was sent to bbq place where she most food are pork and she cant eat it. Lol
I just hope they gave that chef that created their miracle pancakes the respect that’s owed to them 💵.
They didn't at all. The owner who does nothing got all the attention.
thats now how food works. Nobody should own recipes… if you can recreate it then you can use it.
Unfortunately, just like the guy above said, you can't own recipes. But the first shop that served these Souffle Pancakes were insanely popular and the owner is incredibly successful already. Just imagine your recipe used all over the world though, just the thought of that is beautiful isnt it.
It's not Japanese. Soufflé pancakes were invented in Hawaii, by chef Nathan Tran in 2009, Cream Pot restaurant in Waikiki. Japanese chefs stole his creation. Just FYI.
@@pimaxuma That actually is very interesting so I did some more research on it. The only sources I could find was a Honolulu magazine and the instagram page of the restaurant. As much as I want to believe him because I hate to discredit people who deserve it, the only evidential proof he had are pictures of his own souffle pancakes which are taken way after the popularity boom. So I did more research in Japanese, and I found countless blogs that praised the Chef for his menu. So it's not like Japan discredits him and lies about how the Pancakes were invented in Japan. But you also can't deny the fact that it only spread worldwide because of the shop that opened in Japan. If I were Nathan, I would be happy my menu is known all over the world, instead of making hateful comments such as "they sent spies over to steal my recipe", which is very unlikable lol. But yea, cool story.
I don't even need teeth - straight from the lines of Mark Wiens
🤣🤣🤣
“What is it taste like?” “Sweet Clouds” 💕
Best description ever, lol.
When I was here, I showed up suuuuuuper early and was sat at the window. These souffle pancakes made me so happppppyyyyyyy. A must have. Thank you Flippers for the experience. Xoxo
Let's be honest, everything from everywhere is in NYC
Lol, that's the benefit of living here. I guess that's the trade off for the high cost of living.
@@chigasaki06 yeah I guess living there is pretty costly because you dont have to go anywhere, it must be fun living there
@@chigasaki06 I lived in NY for a year & because it's EXPENSIVE to live there we moved back to CA

@@leahrenee04 yeah LA too
I carefully made these at home I didn't use a mold either, they turned out so fluffy, they are amazing!! It was worth the effort. I will be making these again as a personalized birthday treat for my family members
Ok?
@@isntshelovely5823 i'm not sure what you mean?
Did you have a mixer?
Spectacular! 😉👍
I'm assuming people will still be hungry afterwards
lilktmus yup there pretty airy so they don’t fill you much
And it probably costs 30$
lolll
Not rly once I eat 3 of those pancakes I get so full trust me, and no in japan they’re 12 bucks
@@sofiaaa9169 you must have a very little apetite. I had these miracle pancakes and they're all about the air that got infused into them. To be honest the cream felt more filling than the pancakes 🤷 Definitely overrated
朝から美味しそうなの見れて幸せ
Can't wait to try these miracle pancakes 😍 I hope they grow outside NYC soon
Even pancakes are thicc now 🥞🥞

Madhurima Roy me too😆 Look at that soft pancake. It's going to melt in your mouth, right?😍
lol😂
Madhurima Roy leg day for all
LMAO
Thanks to Food Insider, the lines will now be 3 times as long.
How will we ever get our souffle pancakes now? 🙄
@@jlei1995 i would totally support that. Bring one to LA!
There's a good amount of restaurants who sell these souffle pancakes in New York.. I tried it in Brooklyn at a place called Taiyaki NYC (3 locations in NYC). It was good but I don't understand the long line that this video features lol..
Make them at home
@@jlei1995 It's a fluffy pancake, I don't think they have a monopoly on authentic Japanese style pancake; it's popular in Japan and now it's here. I wouldn't wait 40 minutes on line for one, my curiosity has been fulfilled with the one I had so I'm good lol...
You can make it yourself. It's not difficult
Wow, look at that soft pancake. I want to eat it right away😆😭👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻❤️
Me: this looks so good I want to try it!
Location: I’m about to end this whole mans career
Fingering Things Overused joke.
uh huh
Why do you always comment the same thing??
i got some this week and it's SO GOOD it tastes like a literal cloud im not joking
I liked ur comment, now it's ur lucky day number 69 except if someone liked ur comment before this day ends.
ive never been more moved by a food video, these look so amazing
I made them myself. No need to wait in queue for hours.
Recepie?
same they're the best things i've ever eaten hoping to open a food truck and sell them
Japan is like the France of Asia.
a lot of their recipes are based off of dutch btw (i know what ur sayin pls don't hurt me)
No way. France is like JAPAN in europe.
*vietnam
@@lampsenpai4325 Not really. Japan got the first western influence under the portuguese empire. That's when they started to bring in new flavors to their cuisine and gradually developped things like tempura.
But yes japan is like the France of Asia and french people had this fascination about Japan from a long time.
AWESOME!
The strawberry one looks so goood!
I would love to try some of delicious pancakes!🤤
Charlie Tellez
I really want to have some soft pancakes😁
Pancake house. German pancake chain. Significantly better than whipped egg whites.
They look like little fluffy clouds from heaven
Broseph Thomas they taste like it too
Thx for the ingredients. I'll save myself some money
Mouth watering 🤤
why tf do i need to wait 2 hours in a line to eat two little pancakes.
Accepted in places only as pretentious as Manhattan 🤷
3:55 When she smiled she was like “People would wait 20 minutes for this shit lol”
We have Flippers in HK as well. I’ve tried it and it was amazing
Sounds good
Nice
I went to flippers in New York and then remade them on my channel! Let’s say the ones at flippers are to die for!
I must try these
yum
Who else was drooling over...watching these yummy pancakes??..🥞🙄🤤
Wow beautiful 😋
I had this IS AMAZING and i made it before
TRY IT
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I agree! I will be making them again too.
Very good
Yummy! Who's craving for some pancakes now? :)
Some of the simplest things to make at home. If you can make a soufle. If you can make decent pancakes. You can definitely make these.
Beautiful look and this is delicious,
Is this ice cream?
Now I want some pancakes!
Angelica’s Recovery me too😆 I really want a bite.❤️❤️
"It definitely makes you feel like you're having a very healthy meal."
I don't think the word "healthy" means what you think it means.
No offense. They look amazing, but pancakes aren't health food, folks.
that's why they said it makes you feel like it, never said it is healthy
made some at home but not as big as Flippers.. quite long to cook but worth it. kids keep asking for more.
best pancake ever
extremely fluffy and jiggly
Wow 👍👍👍👍👍👍
wendy jenkins It's really amazing, isn't it? I think it's going to be very soft.😍
Check out Osaka-based Gram Pancake. First US outpost in San Francisco. I think they started this souffle pancake thing.
You can literally make this at home .. just add whipped egg whites to your store bought pancake mix
@array s a griddle pan works pretty well for me, but normal pans are fine too?
array s if I didn’t why would I make a comment on how to prepare them
Can you make a vedio about it????
Mikey Chen from Strictly Dumpling will kill the review by complimenting how fragile it is and so on 🤣😍
Lol here in Hawaii we can easily make the pancakes. I’ve been eating them for breakfast.
I like my pancakes better because it’s not too oily or dry and not too thick!! Aunt Jamima ❤️❤️
Wow! i like your job😂 you could skip the line and get inside without waiting
Next year, super fluffy egg omlett with bacon crisp sprinkle
you can buy that at any bakeshop in the Philippines. Its called Brazo de Mercedes...lol
I have not even got a chance to try this yet.
My man flopped harder than my life.
I visited the Flippers in Taipei twice
Wowww
Yummy 😺❤❤❤
My city loves a line.
Sweet Clouds 😂😂😂
I definitely like Flippers more than A Happy Pancake, but I feel that both of them have too heavy an egg taste. I love eggs, but I don't want my pancake to taste like an omlette.
There are some smaller pancake places in Tokyo that use more egg whites and the results are fantastic.
Theres a place like this in Cerritos California and I didn't have to go to Japan either... they aight!!!!!!
We’ve had a place in CA that has been making these for at least a year.
Can I apply here? I love this job. Hehehe but Philippines version of searching for the new restaurant.
Im gonna make it tomorrow. No need to go to Japan or America.
Thank u Japan for this pancake.
I’m bout to go makes some at this point xd
I love eating this
YASSSSSS
Does any of these cook through or it is just warm batter?
Lol we have this in Cali for years but only in Korean places.
I really want to eat that many people come to eat🤤🤤
Stefon on snl would recommend this plc
Oh yum a mouthful of egg.
Pancake batter and meringue...miracle..

In the middle of manhadden??
You Alvin from Tasty, He can make this pancakes.
Yuan Onio Oh yea, he’s a really great cook 👨🍳
Does anyone know the name of the instrumental playing in the background? (In the beginning of the video)
Where do they serve this is tampa florida or just in florida I'm going omg?!!!
I love Japan🇯🇵
My city needs to step it up 😂 Detroit
If I lived near there, I would have gone there everyday!
Paper Story -Short Funny Animatics I think so, too.😁👍🏻
The host has pretty soft and jiggly pancakes too ... Yummy 😋
tried this in tokyo was not worth waiting hours in line for. If you can find one where your wait is 30 mins its worth it.
Hey Medha. U are super cuter sister. I love ur expressions. Love from India
I love making these. But, for one recipe i have it takes like 25 mins to make 3 pancakes! hahahaha. Not that hard to make and super easy ingredients. But, time-intensive process.
There's hardship in everything
Except eating Pancake
Unless you pour syrup on it and the syrup gets all over your shirt
😻😻😻
Ha!! I make them 😇
Not a fan of fluffy food but these look delicious!!!
Mmmmmmm i will visit this Incredible Smorgus board melts in ur freaking Mouth literally fluffy pancake house Filppers soon y Viva Mexico!!!!!! Lol had to say that.
I like how the title says “cult”
Watching her eating those pancakes knowing that I will probably never be able to eat them phisically hurts. Why am I even watching this video?
I’ll wait 3 hours for this
U must have a sad life I suppose ☹️
Let's go Astros
I've been wanting to go but I'm waiting until the craze dies down a bit. I'm not waiting an hour for no damn pancakes, lol.
Smart. I will be patiently waiting your review
Keloco kesuno...😂🤣😅
