Okay, I followed the Zebra's footsteps, and I can tell you Paolo knows what he is talking about! #6 - Yukari - I went there twice. The first time, I found the chicken to be a bit dry. Not sure if it was the spicy flavour that I ordered the first time, but I did a return leg the following week and ordered their regular fare and thought is was quite good. #2 Sekine - Their Nikuman was excellent. The ladies behind the counter were awesome. Everyday I would go, they had a good laugh because I would always order ichi Nikuman. By the thrid day, they were running to get the Nikuman before I ordered! It was hot as advertised and the bun was fluffy. The meat was juicy as shown in the video. Really nice taste! #1 Benitsuru - How good is this??? If you want a reservation, you need to get in line before 8:30am. I arrived at 8:27 and I was 15 people deep. I paid my 1,000 Yen and got the earliest reservation possible at 10:40!!! The pancakes were top drawer. I got the one with the fried eggs and bacon covered with the sauce. Great to have once...but if this was the daily diet, I would be dead in about 3 weeks! Service was great. People were polite. Couldn't ask for a better experience.
For benitsuru did they give you back the 1,000 yen when you went back for you reservation? Or is that just the cost of being able to eat there and they don’t give it back lol
Benitsuru.....Homemade Pancakes is one of the most memorable meals ever. Basic rules. 1. Get there around 8.30am to 9.00am. Book in your reservations. The earlier you get there the more chances you will get in for a booking to suit your time. (I got there at 9.30am and got a booking at 1.15pm for 4 people) Make a booking and do Paolo's favourites in the area... Menchi Katsu is a winner. 2. There are several menu items. Honey butter, Strawberry, Chocolate matcha, seasonal fruit and Banana and Eggs Benedict. You can order basic Honey and Butter with extras. Extras are Whipped cream, ice cream, custard sauce, chocolate sauce, roasted nuts and rum raisin. The will also have a seasonal fruit. For example Strawberry or red grapefruit. 3. He only serves 6 people at a sitting. If you want the best possible pancakes you have ever had.... this is the place. Easily!!! This is on another level to the other pancakes
The lady in charge speaks English. The menu is simple and you wont have any problems. I hunted food for my entire holiday in Japan, watched all of Paolo's videos and found my own favourites. This place is on my number 1 favourites. Im a chef at trade and this place blew me away
Will they only start taking orders when they open at 10 or can you get there around 8:30 to secure a booking before they open and walk around asukusa whilst you wait for your time?
@@jelgaerlan8280 The line starts at 8.30am and that is just to wait for a reservation. We got there at 9.00am and we were 20th in line already! (This was in mid April) They open at 10.00am but basically someone comes out at about this time and starts booking everyone in for the day's reservations. By the time this happened, there were about 30 people behind us. Once we secured our booking (11.30am for 4 of us) we walked around and explored Asakusa! It was definitely worth the wait.

I know how Maiko feels!! Yesterday, we went to Yukari, Asakusa Menchi, and Sekine and I’m stuffed. Today, we are now standing in line for reservations for Benitsuru. Got here at 8a, and already a person in line!

Paolo fromTOKYO Very informative video. Every looks so yummy! I noticed that in order to secure the reservation from Benitsuru you mentioned it required a 2000 yen deposit. Do you get the money back if you show up for the reservation and buy something?
@@gaspode7 Actually, the required deposit is a thousand yen per person and it will be credited to your bill. If you don't appear at the reserved time, the thousand yen will be forfeited. I was lucky I saw this video while I was in Tokyo. Out of the 10, I hit 3. I ordered the bacon and egg and was it ever delicious. I would order extra bacon as it was so good. Don't know if they will do it with extra money. Would have loved to go back for another 3 tier but I was short of time.

Hi Paolo, just returned from Japan 2 days ago. I really wanted to try out the onigiri place but unlucky for me, he was close on my last 2 days in Tokyo. So will have to make another trip to Japan next year. I hope you'd mark off a map where each of these places is located so we won't waste time looking around for them. Yes, please shoot a video on the street foods of Kyoto too. Thanks Paolo.

Japan is saved from tourists.
@@Laperdash thats a bad thing
Hi Paolo, just returned from Japan 2 days ago. I really wanted to try out the onigiri place but unlucky for me, he was close on my last 2 days in Tokyo. So will have to make another trip to Japan next year. I hope you'd mark off a map where each of these places is located so we won't waste time looking around for them. Yes, please shoot a video on the street foods of Kyoto too. Thanks Paolo.
Have you made any video for Kyoto ?
I love Maiko so much. She is great!
Can I come to japan for alone for 10 days maybe? I asking myself if i can have fun without my friends when i am alone in japan...
I went to Japan for 2 weeks by myself, it was really fun, definitely worth it

Brad Brooks Do you know where the best bars/clubs at Tokyo especially for tourist is, who visit that city for alone?
You and Maiko did it again 👍 awesome food tour in Asakusa. And yes I like my chicken crispy. I heard a lot about fluffy Japanese pancakes 🥞 A few funny moments in this video as well, I love it. Thanks again Paolo and Maiko. Much success to both of you.
Thanks Diana Of Markham! Glad you like fried chicken too!
