    Hello Gareth, another great video, well done, its great that you take the time and put in the effort to show how fishing is in reality, many times I am sure we have all been freezing cold or soaking wet but still enjoyed the day. Catching in that weather was a good result and I was pleased to see the reward for your efforts. Keep up the good work, look forward to the next one.

      Thank you Rob, appreciated as always. Yeah that was a tricky session as the wind and rain just got worse but I'm glad I stuck it out as the Congers kept me busy ha! Can often rely on them when nothing else is feeding. I like it down there and over the years I've had some good fish, anything can turn up. Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching! 👍👍🐟

      Cheers Dylan. Man that weather was shocking, when I arrived I almost went back home but I thought I'd brave it and I'm glad it did, an enjoyable session and just about managed to scrape a video together. Ha very true, more like Windy City that day, those winds just got stronger and it hammered down towards the end of the session. Tight lines for your next session, have a good weekend bud 👍👍🙏

    Gareth another great video I watch loads of fishing videos on UA-cam and your attention to detail quality of filming camera placement is great I would just like to ask you to take some of the pressure off yourself we know how difficult it can be to get a fish by order, your doing great I really look forward to your videos and even when you struggle that's OK by me! we've all been there. I look forward to your next blockbuster hopefully a little more often I wish you all the very best keep going forward your doing great trust me! cheers m

      Hi Mark, hope all is good with you. Thank you for the kind words and I'm pleased to hear that you enjoy the videos. I must admit that I miss a lot of fish as I'm usually filming the scenery etc whilst the rod tip is bouncing away! I sometimes feel a little paranoid when no fish to show as when you have a fishing channel, you kinda feel obliged to catch! But as you say, that's fishing and we all have those days. The marks I fish are not as productive as they once were but I still go back to them as they're special to me, if you know what I mean. Cheers for the continued support, it is appreciated, hopefully plenty more to come! 👍👍🐟

      So sorry for your loss Scott, what a shock this must have been for you and your family, very sad news. No amount of words will make you feel better at the moment but what I can say is that it will get easier, time really is a great healer. As you can probably tell from my videos, I enjoy reminiscing about Dad as I find this comforting. The coming weeks will be hard but rest assured that each day will get easier and you will find a way of accepting the fact that your Dad is no longer with us, I promise. I truly believe there's an afterlife and no doubt you'll see him again. Even now, four years on, I still have the occasional wobble when I'm missing Dad and this is to be expected, perfectly normal. Keep talking, surround yourself with good people and most importantly, take your time. I used to fish off the beach all of the time and had some lovely fish but the only problem with it these days is that it gets busy (lots of new houses have been built there) and so if you are going to fish off it, opt for early morning or night when it's quieter. Or what you could do is to fish off the flatter rocks (opposite side of Jackson's Bay) and you'd be casting onto the beach. Hi hello, Gareth I'm not quite sure if I'm right as to exactly where you are fishing but I'm sure that it is the same place, basically I noticed you mentioned about safety regarding the rock's and the railings getting onto the breakwater. I was made aware by a youtuber that you have to get a code for a door onto the mark from the only person around the tackle shop opposite? Because I definitely would like to at some point fish there, have I got the right place or not? Cheers

      Hi Terry, I think you must be thinking of a different mark. There is no door or code required and no tackle shop nearby. So the breakwater is owned by the Association of British Ports and the gates at the entrance to the breakwater are generally locked and therefore, you need to walk around the railings...they have no problem with people fishing there as I contacted them years ago. So this is next to Jackson's Bay, may be take a look on Google maps and it will become clear then. You can park along Redbrink Crescent on the right-hand side of the road within the white lined area but you only get two hours. Better off parking in Nell's point carpark and then walking around, will take around 15 minutes (just check current open/close times for the carpark. Hope that helps. Cheers 👍👍

      @@riversidewithme Hi Gareth thanks for the response and thanks for the info it definitely looks like a great place to fish 👍. I think the place I might be thinking of is a disused pier in South Wales possibly Newport 🤔. Anyway cheers mate thanks for the info and have a good weekend.

    Hi, I'm wanting to fish this mark but where do you park?

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  Рік тому

      Hi Neil, parking is an issue at this mark now as the council have recently made the surrounding roads residents parking only. You can park on the right-hand side of Redbrink Crescent within the white dotted line for free but only for 2 hours. I now park in Nell's Point Carpark and walk to the mark, takes around 15 minutes or so via the footpath. The car park opens at 8am and closes at 11pm.

    Is there much of a cod run in Barry?

    • @riversidewithme
      @riversidewithme  2 роки тому +1

      It's like most places around here mate, not what it was in terms of the Cod run but can still produce on its day. Just a case of being in the right place at the right time. Cheers 👍👍

      Hi John. Dad passed away in 2018, cancer caught up with him unfortunately. He loved this mark and in fairness to him, he had some nice fish and I like to reminisce, nice to keep those memories alive. Cheers for watching 👍👍

      Hi David, nice to hear from you again. Ah yes Ogmore Deeps, great mark isn't it, I've fished it many times over the years. Yes, I'm sure that can be arranged, you can show me how to do it! I used to fish the mouth of the River Ogmore quite a bit too and I must I must give that another bash! Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍👍🐟
