Thanks Robert. This is one of my favourite marks, I've been fishing it for many years now. Yes definitely, fishing is a great form of therapy, it usually does the trick. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Thank you John, I appreciate the kind words. Yes that's a nice thought, knowing that Dad is still fishing with me. I always like to reminisce as it keeps those memories alive. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Thanks Stu, glad you enjoyed it. I know that you've been asking for a Nell's video for a while and I finally got around to doing it ha! Yeah was a really enjoyable session, a nice variety of species and that big Pouting made my day, brought back some great memories. Cheers as always, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Simon. Yes I like talking about Dad, it's nice to keep those memories alive. No doubt your Dad is looking down on you and he will be proud that you're now teaching your boys! Well done 👍👍
I was born in Barry, grew up in Sully, Cogan and Dinas. Left in the 80s, live overseas now. Fished Jackson’s bay, penarth pier, sully island etc with my mates, we were young lads we’d cycle down. Fished charter boats and fly fishing lakes with my Dad who I miss greatly. Great session and great vid, cheers.
Thank you Steve, much appreciated. A quiet session but enjoyable all the same. Sounds like you have some great memories of when you lived in the area back in the day, good times no doubt. Yes I can appreciate that you miss your Dad, not easy is it. Same here, it's been 4 years but I still have the occasional wobble, especially when I'm out filming. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Cheers Kenny, much appreciated. Glad you enjoyed the video, it was an enjoyable session and the weather behaved for a change ha! Have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Kevin. One of my favourite marks is Nell's and this session was very enjoyable, a nice variety of species and great to see the Codling at the end. I'll hopefully be back down there next month, see what's about then. Cheers as always 👍👍
Great vid by a Great guy of a Great session, love Pouting very tasty eating. Your vids are a joy and sooth to people who do the daily grind and enjoy fishing. I,m with you,you have to recharge every now and then, the daily 12 hr shifts just to pay a morgage finally done me thats why 5yrs ago i took the plunge sold me Bungalow and took the profit move abroad rent no morgage retired 51 happy days. Keep up the good work your vids mean so much to so many your a Star mate
Thank you Michael, I appreciate it. It was an enjoyable session, great to see a few different species. That Pouting made my day, used to get loads like that back in the eighties but they sadly disappeared. A tough mark to fish is Nell's but it can throw up some nice fish. You made the right decision mate, can't fault it...good on you for taking the plunge. We're all brainwashed into joining the 'system' but it doesn't get you anywhere, just creates debt and misery. Pleased to hear you're enjoying the videos, hopefully more to come soon..Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
You're welcome Les, glad you enjoyed it. A nice session and was great to see a variety of species. I love Nell's, not an easy mark but full of surprises. Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching 👍👍
Thanks mate, it was a really enjoyable session and was great to see a variety of species, I love it down there. Yeah that's it, I enjoy telling those stories, good to keep those memories alive! Cheers for watching, much appreciated 👍👍
Thank you Leighton, hope all is good with you! One of my favourite marks is Nell's, probably one of the hardest I fish but it can often throw up some nice fish. An enjoyable session, great to see a few different species. Haha you're right, it will be rammed...I'll head for Newport instead 🤣. Cheers as always, take it easy 👍👍
Hi I have been following your program for quite some time now but not for as long as I have been fishing and there are three main things I that drew me back towards you 3 the fishing 2 the scenery shots and finally 1 is something that is special to me you speak of your dad in the past tense it was resentful I had been fishing at Dungeness and had the two zZipplex up and I had my dads rod and reel it was a 10ft peer rod made by leader I put a two hook flapper on and palled in two doggies witch seriously bent the rod as you have said great memories cheers steve man of Kent
Thanks for the message Steve, please to hear you're enjoying the videos, hopefully more to come soon. Yeah that's it, I like talking about Dad as it keeps those memories alive and I guess anglers such as yourself can relate to it. What is it with our dad's rods and them bending ha! I bet you thought there was something big on the end, although two doggies are quite weighty. I often use Dad's tackle and I keep his rigs in my rig wallet, although I won't use those incase I lose them! Cheers mate, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
@@riversidewithme I’m hoping to get out this week to go fishing and like yourself I have been fishing for many years, more years then I wish to remember 50 plus years but there is a fault in my fishing. I am very neat and tide with my rigs and I like to use quality line and hooks. I like to keep my hooks as simple as possible I have four main rigs. Main one for Dungeness is my two hook pulley rig main hook 4.0 then 3.0 circle hook I also use a 2 hook flapper for other species hook size varies to where I fish I use a 2 hook down and a 2 hook short snude boom rig. For my reels I use Abu 6500 cts I also use a lot my red penn mag 3 thick spall I choose vercelli Continental 14ft I have custom zziplex very stout rods can bang them out for bigger species I also have Diawa and I do like to keep good freash bait native to areas but there issue don’t laugh I have never caugh a cod although I have caugh many great fish I have never caugh a cod I return all I can but have been known to take occasionally for the table. I come to Wales a lot as me and the wife have family there perhaps we might be able to meet for a coffee and a natter look forward to your next incounter on the screen cheers mate Steve I would appreciate if you could say I to joe on you next video my little grandson wish you all the best
Fantastic video mate, absolutely chuffed for you! I could feel the excitement of catching that cod, brilliant… 😅 Spent many a cold nights looking for a beut, and will spend plenty more. Nice when it all comes together. That pouting was a cracker as well.! Your on a good run mate long may it continue. Thanks for the video. Enjoy your Sunday. See you on the next adventure 👍🎣
Thank you Matt, it certainly was an enjoyable session. Not an easy mark but it can reward you and often produces some nice surprises. Used to be popular back in the day but hardly gets fished now, usually have the place to myself. The big Pouting was a blast from the past, made my day that and getting the Codling on the ebb was superb...classic Conger bite but when I saw the gold bar break the surface my eyes lit up! Hopefully we'll get a good run of them, does seem to be a few about at the moment, although that might be the only one I get this Winter ha! Yeah I have caught a few fish of late and so that blank can't be too far away now, back to normal soon no doubt 🤣. Cheers mate, same to you...enjoy 👍👍
well done gareth great vid and a unicorn to boot, nice marks along nells. used to fish it a lot, remember one summer all i could catch there was loads of tiny codling...never did catch a decent one but loads of dogs and bass and thornies and some scary big eels,
Thank you Peter, appreciated as always. Yes you're right, some lovely spots along there, full of mystery and often full of surprises. Sounds like you've had some good sport at Nell's yourself over the years, good stuff. I prefer the left hand side where I was in the video but I also like the spot where it merges with Whitmore Bay, that's often produced a few fish for me. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you mate, much appreciated. I love fishing at Nell's point, one of my favourite marks. Nice to see a good variety of species! Cheers for watching, hopefully more to come soon 👍👍
Hi gareth you ok pal, another great vid cheers i enjoyed that. Everything you said gareth bang on. I had years of working somewere were when the alarm goes you want to just run away somewere. Pressures of kids wife house n losing my father led to addiction to get threw. Now i'm in a not bad place and like yourself the sea angling takes me somewere i love. Well done on your catch , and your face was like mine early wednesday morning when i landed my first codling of autumn winter close to grimsby docks entrance. I felt a million dollars walking off the beach hahaha. Look forward to your next vid. All the best gareth from GRIMSBY.
Thank you Carl, appreciated as always mate. It was an enjoyable session, a nice variety of species and great to get my first Codling of the Autumn, hopefully the first of many ha! Yes definitely, life is stressful isn't it, the pressure can get to us at times. Sounds like you had a tough time of it but well done for getting through it, good on you. You got your first Codling too, can't fault it, you deserved that one as you put the effort in! Cheers as always, take it easy mate! 👍👍
Thank you Ian, appreciated as always. One of my favourite marks is Nell's, rough ground but can produce some nice fish on its day. Enjoy your Sunday, cheers mate 👍👍
Cheers Andrew, appreciated as always mate. It was a really enjoyable session, good to see a variety of species. A hard mark is Nell's but it can often throw up some nice surprises. Hope you're well mate, have a great weekend 👍👍

Thank you Michael, it was an enjoyable session, great to see a variety of species. I love Nell's, a difficult mark but great on its day. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Hiya Nathan, nice to hear from you again mate. Thank you, nice of you to say, it was a tricky one to film but I just about managed it ha! I love Nell's, full of surprises and you never quite know what's going to turn up. That Pouting made my day, brought back some great memories. Cheers as always, have a great weekend 👍👍
@@riversidewithme cheers Gareth we used to catch nice pouting like that all the time many years back not so much anymore, was the cod a keeper or to small ?
@@Unclebrisbaitadventures1979 Great those Pouting weren't they, such a shame they disappeared. The Codling was a keeper, I didn't mention that as some people don't like fish being taken. To be fair I don't take many these days but nothing wrong with keeping the odd one or two. We're having it tonight...will shallow fry in a nice beer batter (I filmed this one Thursday) 👍👍
Thank you Martin, much appreciated. I always enjoy fishing Nell's point, one of my favourite marks. Nice to see a variety of species, good fun. Cheers for watching 👍👍

Thank you Ade, I appreciate it. Yes I have fished Sker, although I've not been there in a little while. I also like Pink Bay just next to it and Sker beach itself. Hopefully more videos to come soon, cheers for watching 👍👍
gareth another top class video mate , what a nice venue too chap . well done on the codling and nice size pout its good to see the better pout about again . i do love the big eels such a nice fight in the rip tide . take care on them rocks mate . regards from us
Cheers Tone, appreciated as always mate. It's a lovely mark, tricky to fish but it can throw up some lovely fish, usually produces a nice surprise. Yeah that Conger was diving for the rough, I could feel it grating against the rocks but I thankfully managed to get it in. Great to see the chunky pouting, made my day that did. Hope you and the family are well, looking forward to your next video. Have a good weekend mate 👍👍
Thank you Ian, appreciated as always. It was a nice session in fairness, great to see the bonus Codling at the end! I love it down there, one of my favourite marks. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Thank you Andy, this was a great session at one of my favourite spots. Ah yes, I can appreciate that it's not easy but you'll get there. Time is a great healer and whilst we never fully get over it, we learn to deal with it in a different way. I still have a few wobbles but that's perfectly normal. Take it easy 👍👍
Thanks mate. The path starts up at Nells Point carpark and goes all the way down to Jackson's Bay beach, that's where it stops. Hopefully more videos to come soon. Cheers 👍👍
Great video mate an got to say bloody well done on that cod now we no there down our way everyman an his rod be out now wanting a cod guess I'll be back out tonight then lol keep up the good work mate thank you
Thank you Paul, appreciated as always. An enjoyable session, great to see the big Pouting and the Cod was a nice surprise. Ha yeah, you're probably right, lots will be after the Cod now. Hopefully we'll see a good run of them this winter, that would be nice. Tight lines for your next session, have a good weekend 👍👍
Lovely viewing all your vids, never have you kept it secret where you fish. I've notice on some of the other fishing channels it's never mentioned where they are. Keep them coming.
Thank you Jeff, appreciated as always. Yeah I have no issue with saying where I'm fishing as the marks don't belong to anyone. Hopefully more to come soon with a bit of luck. Cheers 👍👍
I was down at Brixham 10/ days ago but never got a sniff. Like you I fished from the breakwater . It was on the ebb tide. It was my first time fishing Brixham, so next time I go I will fish on the floor and into the dark. Thanks for the Vids. Mandy I'll catch (next time) cheers. Blood from london.
Shame you didn't getting anything mate but like you said, next time fish the flood into darkness and you will get fish, I'm certain of that. The bottom fishing tends to produce as soon as the light drops. I'll hopefully be back down there in January for a few days, see what's about then. Cheers for watching 👍👍
To tell anyone who will listen ,when it c gomes to technology I am a (cabbage) so hope you all understand but all the angels I know are up in heaven .ElP. Tight lines!!!

Glad you enjoy the stories, I like reminiscing, good for the soul...I have plenty more to tell ha! Hope you boys are doing ok, will look forward to your next video. Tight lines bud 👍👍
Great to see that codling Gareth. What a great session. Like you, I take comfort in living in the past…..often find myself thinking about years gone by. Hearing your stories about your dad often brings back memories of the days me, my brother and dad went fishing in many of the same places you often visit. I am instantly taken back 40 years and it truly brings a smile to my face. Keep the memories coming mate 👍
Thank you mate, appreciated as always. It was a really enjoyable session, a few different species and plenty of bites. Nell's is probably the hardest mark I fish but it can often throw up some nice surprises, full of mystery. I'm glad the stories bring back some nice memories for you, fishing with your brother and dad, that's great. I do like a bit of reminiscing, always makes me feel better, I guess it's how we're wired. Hi Gareth I found your channel this morning and I really enjoyed the video I also suffer with Stress and Anxiety and it's great to see someone that enjoys nature I think it's the only thing that keeps me sane. I now live on the east coast of Scotland but was born in Neath and used to fish a lot on the Swansea wall for codling. If there was a way to get a chat with you I might have something that might interest you for June of next year.Cheers Vernon.
Thank you Vernon, much appreciated, pleased to hear you enjoyed the video. I love Nell's Point, an old favourite of mine, usually produces a few fish. Yeah definitely, I'm the same and being next to the water is what it's all about for me nowadays, the fish are a nice bonus. I bet the east coast of Scotland is a nice part of the world and I suspect the fishing is quite good too! I've not fished down Swansea way for a few months now but I'll hopefully be back down there soon! Cheers for watching, have a good week 👍👍
@@riversidewithme Hi Gareth I go to Norway at least once a year and we are off there in June next year for two weeks it's just myself and my best mate that are going. Our next trip is well into the artic circle this time we are staying in a two bedroom cottage right on the side of the fjord with a hired boat for the two weeks I have payed for the trip in full as I save up through the year until I have the money to pay for the trip if you would like to go Gareth all you would need is to pay for your flights so we will be fishing mostly for cod and big halibut and anything else that comes along lol so have a think about it .Cheers Vernon.
Thanks for the kind offer Vernon but I will most likely be away myself then. Sounds great though, I'm sure you'll catch lots of fish. Never fished that part of the world before but I've seen and heard good things. Good luck! 👍

Awesome mate your videos always make me wish I was out there fishing with you maybe one day can’t find the link to your Patreon page I’d give a couple of quid to help you make more videos keep up the good work mate
Thanks mate, much appreciated. I enjoyed this session, everything fell into place and nice to see a few fish too, the bonus Coding at the end was a nice surprise! Don't worry about making a donation, nice of you to offer but no need, the best way to support the channel is by liking the video and commenting, that would be great. Hopefully more to come soon, cheers for watching 👍👍
Hi Gareth, nice scenic intro to video , have to say you looked in your element today , lovely pouting and codling looked in great condition nice quality fish and yes I often think of the past have nice memories, until the next time all the best. P.S is there anyway to stop the fish biting while you were talking the intro in ,there's just no consideration these days lol. Again all the best.
Thank you David, much appreciated. It was an enjoyable session, nice to see a good variety of species. It's a hard mark to fish, very rough ground but it can often throw up some nice fish. Haha indeed, as soon as the bait hit the water I was getting bites and I just couldn't get that intro done...I'll have a word with those fish!! Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Been watching these videos for a bit and had to leave a comment... Amazing videos bud takes me right back to where I started, fishing the local marks as a kid with my Grandad. These videos help me bring back some amazing memories bud. Thank you Matt
Thank you Matt, much appreciated. Glad to hear the videos have brought back some good memories of you fishing with your Grandad. Cracking session Gareth, couldn't agree more about needing relaxation to clear your mind. Maybe we can swap, I give you some blanks and you send some fish my way...😁
Thanks mate, hope all is good with you. Yes definitely, being next to that water provides the perfect relaxation, always does the trick. Ha well I wouldn't worry as I'm due a blank very soon and I'm sure you'll get a few fish. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Hey Gareth, what a session! I am one of the viewers who find your videos relaxing. Thank you for all the effort you put into creating your videos. I always get excited when you upload a new one. I would be your camera man 😁 Looking forward to the next video.
Thank you mate, I appreciate it and I'm pleased to hear that you find the videos relaxing. This was an enjoyable session at one of my favourite marks, nice to see a variety of species. A tricky place to fish but well worth the effort. Haha thank you, I shall bear that in mind! Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Steve, appreciated as always. I love Nell's Point, an old favourite of mine. Yes I could do a catch and cook, will add to the list. Did that Codling in some beer batter on Saturday, delicious! Cheers for watching! 👍👍

Thank you Jack, appreciated as always. Yeah rotten bottoms are a must there, the ground is very rough, bumpy and rocky with lots of kelp. I tend to fish it 3 to 4 hours up and then say an hour into the ebb, although I did stay a little longer on this occasion. Cheers 👍👍
Brilliant video as usual mate, some nice catches aswell. Never mind the missed bites lol. I went over the knap last sunday and caught a lovely thornback ray 10lb 12oz. Shame i cant show you it. You should set up a facebook group mate so we can share our catches, be another good way of being part of the channel. Just a thought 😉
Thank you Scott, it was a great session, that jumbo Pouting made my day and the Codling was a nice surprise. I missed so many fish ha, faffing about with the camera as per usual! Well done on the Thornback, that's a cracking fish, can't fault it! Bet you were super chuffed with that! I don't really use Facebook or Twitter, although I could use my community tab on here to post catch reports. I could provide an email address so that my subscribers can send the photos/reports and then I can post on here...I need to think about it more thoroughly but I guess it's an idea. In the meantime, if you want to show me the Thornback, feel free to send the picture to riversidewithme@outlook.com. Cheers mate, have a good weekend 👍👍
@@riversidewithme ye it was a lovely pouting that mate, they all seem to be a good size this year around barry. Its been fishing really well lately, lots of rays being caught off the knap lately. Ye ill send you a picture over now. Hopefully get out for a few hours tomorrow.
Evening Gareth I'm new to sea fishing my first trip is Monday 21st this month fishing the knap just wondered if you could give me some advice on how to fishing. Loving the videos
Thank you Paul, pleased to hear you're enjoying the videos, hopefully more to come soon. Well it might be a good idea to fish with two rods down at the Knap...try a three hook flapper rig on the one, say with size 1 or size 1/0 hooks...this rig would be for smaller baits such as ragworm or lugworm, tipped off with bits of Mackerel or Squid...this rig will pick up a variety of species, such as Whiting, Pouting, Codling, Rockling. On the other rod, I would suggest a pulley pennel rig with size 4/0 hooks and this one will be for the bigger baits, such as whole squid, big piece of bluey, double sandeel etc...this rig will pick up Rays, Conger, Bass, Cod. I'm no expert but the above should cover all bases...I hope you manage to catch a few! Cheers for watching 👍👍
Some great sized fish there Gareth. I don't think I have ever seen you catch a pouting that big before. It looked huge!! Don't worry about reminiscing. It's part of what makes your channel so enjoyable to watch. I don't think there is anything wrong with "living in the past" to some degree. The past helps us inform our future. I am one of your viewers who often comes home from work, sits down and watches one of your videos to release work related stress. It works! Without realising it, I often find myself smiling when watching your videos. If I was a little closer, I would be happy to do the videoing for you.
Thank you David. It was an enjoyable session at one of my favourite marks, not an easy mark to fish but enjoyable all the same. I was chuffed with that Pouting, we used to get loads like that back in the eighties but they disappeared, hence why I was so chuffed to see it! A nice bonus Codling at the end, hopefully they will hang around for a few months. Yes I agree with that, the past does help to shape our future...I enjoy reminiscing, always good to keep those memories alive, I guess it's how we're wired. Ha yes I'm sure you would help with the camera, although I'd have to pay you in bait! Hope your travels are going well, have a great weekend 👍👍

Smashing session Gareth. Nice to get out in a bit of nice weather for a change, and you got into a lovely codling. I personally absolutely love your channel, and you come across like a genuinely nice bloke mate, keep doing what you do. Because when I'm not fishing, I'm watching fishing, and yours is my go-to channel to get my fix👍👍🎣🎣🎣
Thank you Dylan, nice of you to say. The weather certainly has been shocking of late and it was great to get a window last Thursday, few showers but not too bad. I love Nell's Point, it's an old favourite of mine, hardly gets fished these days but it can be full of surprises, many fantastic memories. Great to get the first Codling of the Autumn, there does seem to be a few about at the moment which is a good sign. Cheers as always bud, have a good week! 👍👍🙏
Awsome vid, ive been there once after the whitelight proved too dangerous to scale down.. but sadly the weather ruined the trip and we were blown off the point and forced home.. it looked so much safer and promising than other barry points.. your vid has inspired me to go back.. is there any tips i need to know now ive proper rods anx rigs.. also was that nice deep water you had at the end of the vid ..lowtide.. i realy need to find a deep water mark since my desasters to porthcawl.. stuck fishing in wasit deep water.. 🥰
Thank you mate, appreciated as always. Ah yes, I remember you telling me about the bad weather when on the white light. Where I was in this video is not an easy mark to fish as the ground is very rough and so if you do fish it, you will need to use a rotten bottom setup. The water is deep on high tide, the fish come close in. Another option is to fish the right hand side of Nell's Point where it merges with Whitmore Bay (Barry Island) as you're casting onto sand and no need to worry about snags. Or maybe try Friars Point...fish on the left-hand side about half way up, again you'll be casting onto sand. Hope that helps, cheers 👍👍
@@riversidewithme hey i dont know if you see this now. But i just fished Nells point today after your vidio.. at low tide with my tide feeder ball i made myself.. i caught my ever 1st second fish.. 1st a 15" codling.. and followed less than 20mins into next cast.. a huge fight pulling out a 46' conger and its all thanks to you.. for inspiring me and showing me the mark.. you've done me such good to my well being.. keep inspiring peaple.. and keep the good show comming.. 🥰
Another cracker,I went for a walk the other night around there, and people were fishing of the beach at Jackson’s bay is it any good ? To fish from, cheers ,I really enjoyed that video ,nice fish
Thank you Andrew, appreciated as always. I have fished off the beach many times and caught some lovely fish, although these days it can get busy as lots of new houses around there. Haha ok no problem, will let you know when I'm hiring...I'll need to win the lottery first so that I can afford to pay someone!! Cheers for watching, much appreciated 👍👍
Was thinking about you today hoping you would have another video soon I must have had a sixth sense for you sat twiddling the dials on the editing software. I had a toss up between the channel or the Avon with the lure rod and made the wrong decision, Avon was running chocco and fast and it was too late to switch plans. Ah well!
Ha, you must definitely have a sixth sense! Sounds like the Avon was tough going, hopefully it will clear a little during the coming days. I wouldn't worry, I've made so many bad fishing decisions this year it's unreal ha! Hopefully the channel will fish well this Winter, the signs are good but we'll see. Cheers mate, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Great video Gareth, Also some nice scenery shots to set the mood nicely, Isn’t it amazing what catching a particular fish does to your morale, really makes the difference, but having said that just sitting next to the water enjoying your surroundings is good for the soul Great stuff pal 👍
Thank you Nigel, hope all is good with you mate. Yes you're right there, lifts you instantly and it's great for the confidence levels. I love this mark, it's a hard place to fish but it can also reward you, full of nice surprises. Definitely, being next to the water is what it's all about for me nowadays, that's what I look forward to the most. Cheers as always, have a great weekend 👍👍
Well done mate. Its cracking watching u on these sessions. Very passionate and its awesome to hear of your stories from years ago. Look forward to the next one
Cheers Alex, pleased to hear you enjoyed the video. I enjoy telling the stories, nice to do a bit of reminiscing. A tough mark is Nell's but it can often throw up some nice fish, hardly gets fished these days. Thanks as always mate, enjoy the weekend 👍👍
Cheers Gareth ... Cracking session mate nice Pouting, Conger and Codling 👏Nothing wrong with going back to where great memories were made and reminiscing it would be sad if we couldn’t ... take care mate and thanks 🙏
Thank you Stephen, hope all is good with you mate. Yeah it was a great session in fairness, despite the fact that I lost loads of fish ha! That big Pouting made my day, brought back a lot of great memories. Love Nell's point, full of mystery and full of surprises. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Thank you Alan, I appreciate it. It was an enjoyable session and it was good to see a variety of species. A difficult mark to fish but it does produce some nice fish. Hopefully more to come soon with a bit of luck. Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
Hi Gareth just watching you on nells point I used to fish the white light back in the late 70s used to catch the train from up the valleys and stay for the weekend always caught lots of whiting pouting and congelooking at you there brings back many happy memories please keep up the good work and keep the memories
Sounds like you have some fond memories of fishing down there Gareth, great spots aren't they. I love the white light too, an old favourite of mine, although I haven't fished it much during the past few months, need to get back down there. Hopefully more videos to come soon, cheers 👍👍
Thank you Chris, that's nice of you to say. I try my best to make an enjoyable watch, although I still have a lot to learn when it comes to filming. Hopefully more to come soon, cheers for watching 👍👍
You park on Stephenson Street, plenty of parking available on either side of the road. Then walk towards the bridge (dogs home is on the left) and take a left onto the coastal path/grass bank. Walk at least 80 metres up from the bridge as the ground is cleaner and pick your spot.
Gareth great video mate. I'm like you say when I'm fishing I forget all my problems and just relax. Pure heaven.
Thanks Robert. This is one of my favourite marks, I've been fishing it for many years now. Yes definitely, fishing is a great form of therapy, it usually does the trick. Cheers for watching 👍👍
What a lovely bloke you are gareth your dads proud of you & fishing alongside you in spirit.
Thank you John, I appreciate the kind words. Yes that's a nice thought, knowing that Dad is still fishing with me. I always like to reminisce as it keeps those memories alive. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Ahh you got out there!! Great session buddy, what a pout! Thank you so much for another great vid

@@riversidewithme Thank you for the kind words mate your channel is my fav the welsh stick together all the very best Simon
Great watch, thanks bud 🏴

Gareth thank you for another amazing video keep going 👏 🙏
You're welcome Les, glad you enjoyed it. A nice session and was great to see a variety of species. I love Nell's, not an easy mark but full of surprises. Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching 👍👍

Gareth that was a great watch with some lovely shots and obviously some great 🎣 Barry will be ramed this weekend 😀 👍
Lovely Codling that Gareth, was so pleased for you mate, well done & keep it up fella 🦈🦈🦈

Yes that's right, you can't beat it can you and the feeling never changes. Hopefully many more fishing trips to come 👍
Hi I have been following your program for quite some time now but not for as long as I have been fishing and there are three main things I that drew me back towards you 3 the fishing 2 the scenery shots and finally 1 is something that is special to me you speak of your dad in the past tense it was resentful I had been fishing at Dungeness and had the two zZipplex up and I had my dads rod and reel it was a 10ft peer rod made by leader I put a two hook flapper on and palled in two doggies witch seriously bent the rod as you have said great memories cheers steve man of Kent
Brilliant codling well done Gareth
Thanks Larry, it was a tough session but enjoyable all the same, nice to see the Codling at the end. Cheers 👍👍
Fantastic video mate, absolutely chuffed for you! I could feel the excitement of catching that cod, brilliant… 😅
Spent many a cold nights looking for a beut, and will spend plenty more.
Cheers for watching, have a good weekend 👍👍
thats the blank out of the way mate nice couple of fish so far mate
Another great video. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to your next one 👌👌🎣

Yeah that Conger was diving for the rough, I could feel it grating against the rocks but I thankfully managed to get it in. Great to see the chunky pouting, made my day that did. Hope you and the family are well, looking forward to your next video. Have a good weekend mate 👍👍

Great video again Gareth also that path behind you how far does it go and where does it start from ? Keep they videos coming mate

Shame you didn't getting anything mate but like you said, next time fish the flood into darkness and you will get fish, I'm certain of that.

Lovely cod mate
Thank you mate. It was an enjoyable session in fairness, a few different species and plenty of bites, can't wait to go back. Cheers for watching 👍👍
@@riversidewithme you are my favourite fishing UA-camr mate. Keep up the good work
@@GaragE36uk Ah thank you, nice of you to say. Hopefully more to come soon with a bit of luck 👍
Hey Gareth, what a session!
I am one of the viewers who find your videos relaxing.
Thank you for all the effort you put into creating your videos. I always get excited when you upload a new one.
I would be your camera man 😁
Looking forward to the next video.
Great video Gaz, perhaps a catch and cook at some point? 👍
Thank you Steve, appreciated as always. I love Nell's Point, an old favourite of mine. Yes I could do a catch and cook, will add to the list. Did that Codling in some beer batter on Saturday, delicious! Cheers for watching! 👍👍
There's nothing wrong with revisiting the past. What is our life but a series of hopefully happy memories.
Cracking video, thoroughly enjoyed that.
Thanks mate, appreciated as always. An enjoyable session, nice to see a variety of species. Yes you're right there, I enjoy reminiscing, good to keep those memories alive! Hope all is good with you, cheers for watching 👍👍
One of the best yet mate. Never tried that side of nells is it rotten bottom? Also did you do 3 hrs up to high ?
@@riversidewithme qthank you for replying I will try to rods keep up the good work
Good video as always m8 u need a gow pro for filming
Thanks Stuart. It was an enjoyable session, nice to see a variety of species, the Codling at the end was a nice surprise.
@@riversidewithme Haha bait is always as good as currency! I'm not doing a lot of travelling at the moment. Will probably do that again in December and January. Hope your weekend is off to a good start too.
Thanks for sharing these great videos I always look forward to seeing them you do a great job and help a lot of people,I always remember going with my dad too he passed away this year and fishing reminds me of happy times spent with him only started again recently after many years and blanked all 4 times I've been but your videos inspire me to keep going as I remember my dear dad while I am doing it keep sharing those memories and God bless you
You're welcome Adrian, I'm pleased to hear that you're enjoying the videos, hopefully more to come soon. Nell's point is one of my favourite marks, it can often produce a few fish and it's just a nice place to be. Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing, I can appreciate that it's not easy, although it does get easier, time really is a great healer and I'm sure he's in a better place now. Unlucky on the blanks but keep going, no doubt your luck will change soon and you'll catch a few! Cheers for watching, have a good week 👍👍
Another fantastic video Gareth.
Love seeing all the different marks in our South Wales area.
Great to see a Unicorn caught too lol. Can't wait for the next video, thanks again for sharing as always.
Thank you Richie, appreciated as always. Yeah I love Nell's Point, a tricky mark to fish but it can produce some nice fish on its day. A nice variety of species and was great to get the Codling... probably the only one I'll catch this Winter ha! Hope all is good with you, have a good weekend 👍👍
@@AutisticsRule That's excellent mate, sounds like you had a great session there. A nice Codling and Conger, can't fault it!! Well done indeed! 👍👍
So if I fish the beach these days, I either do a night tide or early morning as much quieter then. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Keep up the great work mate, your videos are awesome and appreciate all your hard work
Thank you Alan, I appreciate it. I love Nell's Point, an old favourite of mine, was nice to see a few different species and the Coding at the end was a nice surprise. Hopefully more videos to come soon, cheers for watching 👍👍
Well my Gareth... what can I say!!! I get absolutely drained just fishing, let alone trying to film aswell.. massive congrats on the video, awesome session 👏. Lovely cod, fantastic pouting, and 8lb of pure muscle conger. Probably a better session than I've ever had. You should be proud. And regards remembering your past... don't you ever forget your past.. your past is what makes you who you are today. Have no regrets and make Lovely memories. God bless you and your family. Regards John
Thank you John, appreciated as always. I love it down there, one of my favourite marks. A difficult mark to fish but it's full of mystery and can produce some nice fish. It was great to see the big Pouting and it certainly brought back some good memories. The Codling at the end was a nice surprise and a great bonus, I was super chuffed! Yes you're right, our past certainly does shape our future and I always enjoy reminiscing, good to keep those memories alive. Cheers for watching, have a great weekend 👍👍
Excellent video as always! Gimme a shout if you are taking camera man applications
Thank you mate, it was an an enjoyable session in fairness. One of favourite marks, will hopefully try it again before the year is out.
Great video again mate some nice fish too Great to see a nice codling come out. Look forward to the next one
Thank you mate, appreciated as always. Yeah nice to see the Codling, hopefully we'll get a good run of them this year. Cheers for watching 👍👍
Great video Gareth,
Also some nice scenery shots to set the mood nicely,
Isn’t it amazing what catching a particular fish does to your morale, really makes the difference, but having said that just sitting next to the water enjoying your surroundings is good for the soul
Great stuff pal 👍
Hi are you using pulley rig? Thanks
Hi. No I don't use a pulley rig at this mark. Just a standard paternoster rig with a rotten bottom setup. Cheers
great video and a good days fishing, i appreciate the amount of work that goes into these videos..and look forward to future days caught on film
Gareth, so much joy watching your sessions. Much prefer watching you over any other of the mainstream TV programs,
Thank you Chris, that's nice of you to say. I try my best to make an enjoyable watch, although I still have a lot to learn when it comes to filming. Hopefully more to come soon, cheers for watching 👍👍
Gareth after some advice where is the best place to park to fish by transporter bridge
You park on Stephenson Street, plenty of parking available on either side of the road. Then walk towards the bridge (dogs home is on the left) and take a left onto the coastal path/grass bank. Walk at least 80 metres up from the bridge as the ground is cleaner and pick your spot.
Cheers Gareth
