To fix your quality issue, right click the layer that you are resizing. Convert to smart object then Ctrl+T it will keep the quality of its original size. Hold shift for Accuracy while resizing. Thanks for the tutorial.
Thank you for letting me know! That always bothered me :'D
Man... Sims 3 had this so much easier... Sad they removed that feature where you had blank frames which you could add anything you want into...
There are blank frames but you can only add photos your sims have taken, not screenshots
I feel like sims 1 was super easy too, It's been years for me but I vaguely remember there being a folder you could add images too and your sims could paint them and then you'd hang up in the house. I could be wrong though.
I stumbled on this video looking for more youtube simmers. I heard ur voice and instantly subscribed! I love ur accent lol and thanks for the tutorials im going to try it!! Im ur new fan!
Aww Thank you! :D ♥
Thank you so much for this! I've never seen this done before, but now that I've seen it I know I'll do it forever. 😂
Aww no problem :D
Thank you so much! I hate that there's no easy way to put the screenshot in game. I was originally just going to do loads of individual pictures but this makes way more sense!! Thanks!
This was so much more easyer to follow then James/the sim supply did it, so thanks
Thank you! :D I'm glad it's easy to follow :)
No Problem :D
Theres just one thing, can you do it n paint.net as on it you cant resize pics on that.. and i dont know how to fix it, anyone know how???
omg! i needed this video! gonna credit you when I post the final cc on my blog becuase your amazing!
Aww thank you! :D I'm glad it helped ^^
I finished the post! Please could you check it out? luke-sims.tumblr.com/post/160272908138/through-the-trees
Of course I can :D
TYSM! this helped so much very simple and straight forward, also if u want to upload ur build to gallery but it says it includes cc u can make ur sim take a photo of the photo ( sounds weird ik) and then it'll still count as cc but it wont actually be cc so the pictures will still be in the build when someone loads it up in their game
OMG this video was so helpful. by the way I love your content on your channel!!
Thanks! :D
I've found that if I resize the image (making it smaller by going to the 'Image' tab and then 'Image Size.' I then copy/paste it from there into the frame ... or whatever other picture I have up that I'm working on, and it seems to come out less pixel-y. Not sure why that makes a difference, but it makes one for me. Thank you so much for posting this video! I had no clue how to put them in game
Thank you for letting me know! I'll try it :D
Not sure why 4 people disliked, but I found this tutorial very helpful and well done. I just started playing Sims 4 this year because I've been waiting for Seasons. I wasn't interested until then. The photos you picked are very cute, by the way.
Thank you :D I'm glad this helped you
I love your background. TMNT is still my favorite
Thank you! 😊
I just found this
Hello, first I want to thank you for this video, managed to get my screenshots into it very quickly. Also if you didn't found out by now (even if I think you actually did been a while since you uploaded this video :P), it still might be useful for others. To increase the quality of the screenshots just change the texture(the picture you're editing) dimensions from in example:
The original size of the image she has edited was "1024x512" just double it to "2048x1024" so changing the size of screenshots won't get to blurry/pixelated, probably it also could be trippled or quadrupled to something like "3072x1536 or 4096x2048". It is also possible to change it to something like "1024x1024" but it will be stretched so it would be the wisest choice to just double, tripple or quadruple the dimensions of the texture used.
Also for people asking which tool to use if you have not photoshop, she told about a free program which is even found and linked in the Information at the video... "Paint. NET" you could also go for "GIMP" both should do the trick.
Once more, thanks for the video it showed me all the things I needed for editing existing ingame pictures and make a own unique mod of it.
best regards!
Thank you! I will try that out :D
@@LaulauPlays You're welcome, hope it will help you out. :)
@@ragnara2109 do you change the dpi at all? When I resize, the ingame portrait gets crazy when I zoom out [looks great zoomed in all the way though]
@@toxiclovee17 Hey, if I remember right, I only changed the dimensions, just be sure to just double it or something like I wrote there so in example: Original Size 1024x512 to 2048x1024 depending on the image size of the texture. Hope it helps you somehow. :)
This is so helpful, thank you!
Thank you so much for this!
Thank you for the tutorial. :)
omg, what a life saver!
Hi Laulau! I have a few tips maybe that might help others.
1: use a FREE program that's easy to use called Medibang Paint Pro (For drawing/editing)
2: Unless your using the entire screenshot as you did with the one at 8:00, what I did with mine is I cropped mine which saved
some of the Resolution (Not by much but it does help)
3: I used the Blur tool from my program to lightly blur any obviously harsh pixels so the image still looks smooth!
Thank you! :D I pinned a comment from someone that has a tip that should help fix some of the pixelation from resizing the image ^^
When I try to add my edited image back to the studio nothing changes. What should I do?
very cool thank u i just subscribed nice explained thank u
Thank you! :D
Thank you so much
thanks sm for this video. ❤😊
Awwsome thanks
I think this video is old but it was very helpful!!! Thank you!
Pretty old xD I honestly don't even know what I say in it, but I'm happy it's still current and able to help people :'D
thank you i have now officially created my first piece of cc
It works for you? When I put my cc in my game it looks weird...
@@bonniepage7604 so the first time i did it, it came out weird but i realized the i didnt have the picture the same size as the background when i changed that it was fine came out perfect x
Awesome! If you want the picture to have better quality in game, try to find Vonnie Daniels comment, I pinned it, so it should come up first ^^
Really helps
i just discovered ur channel ur accent is cute lol , thanks for the tutorial
Thank you! :D
Late comment, sorry, just found this video. Thank you, your instructions were very helpful. I put my image in my mods folder but i cannot find it in the game. Not really sure where i messed up.
I figured it out, I have to put the actual mod file in the mods folder, NOT the image 🤦🏻♀️. Lol. Again, thank you for this tutorial. I'll be watching it every time I want to do this bc I'm old and can't remember anything 😂😂😂
I can’t find it in my game, I did everything I was supposed to. I spent over an hour trying to do this all for it just not to work.
After you're done with the file, you have to move it to your sims 4 mods folder, located at: C:\Users\User\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4\Mods
If you already did and it doesn't show up:
1) make sure you have mods enabled in your game options;
2) don't use sub-folders in your mod folder, because the game can't read them, it can only access main folders;
3) make sure your game is updated, as well as the sims 4 studio;
4) move your mods folder out of the sims 4 folder (you can move it to your desktop temporarily), open the game (the game will create another mods folder), and then close the game, and move only the package file you made with the sim s4 studio into the mods folder, see if it works. If it shows up it could be another cc item that's conflicting with the game, if it doesn't, it's a problem with the sims 4 studio. But if it is that, your work is not lost though, because you have the png file. You can start a new project in the sims 4 studio and just import the png texture, save and try it in your game again.
I never had that happen to me before so if none of that works I'm out of ideas, but it'll help you narrow it down if the problem is in the game or in the sims 4 studio.
I know this comment is 2 years old and I hope you figured it out! But I was having the same exact issue. And I found out I had 2 mods folders somehow. I had a desktop>sims4> mods folder, which was the one that wasn't working, and then another was documents>electronic arts>sims4>mods, which was the correct one. I don't know how there is two different ones, and I'm not sure if that's the what's preventing you as well, but it could be the issue possibly. I finally got it to work one I used the documents EA one and not my desktop sims 4 folder.
how do I find my screenshots?
No objects show up when I use S4S
super easy thank you so much :)
I assume any other drawing software works (Krita Sai, Medibang) If not please correct me ;-;
I'm just using those just because I know how to use them
Well, I know how to use Sai more than anything (aside from IbisPaint but thats a mobile drawing software oof)
OFF TO BEGIN MY IM A LOVER CHALLENGE AND CREATE MEMORIES AND STUFF AND TO FILL MY MODS FOLDER WITH OVER A HUNDRED POSES FOR MY OWN SCREENSHOTTING OBSESSION XD
I like your voices
nothing shows up for objects when I search?
I am trying to do this on mac but am struggling to find a photo editor that cuts the picture out in the way that an overlay can be placed in its spot
Gimp works for mac, and from what I remember of it you can work with different layers just like on photoshop :)
If i do those steps and save it and put it in my mod file the pictures turn purple 🥺
My objects don't show up in sims 4 studio, help pleaseee 😭
I have a windows computer it's running on windows 10. Everything was fine before, now nlthing shows up and when I click on "My CC" it freezes and crashes 😕
what cc do you have there? is it compatible with the current version of the game? :c if you have more than one thing there move everything out except for what you want to recolor. They also have a forum, maybe you can look there to see if anyone has gotten that issue before :/ sims4studio.com/board/8/creator-help Also try either getting an older version or a newer version if you don't have the newest version out so far :)
I don't have any cc there. Thank you, I'll take a look. I think I need the latest version.
please, do a video of how to do thumbnails
I did a video some time ago on that ^^ ua-cam.com/video/asRsNqO4Qtk/v-deo.html&index=2&list=PLX7e8-wYFlsFioDctUQkMwSlrLpquknKb
How did you get the photo album on your desktop?
It's a regular folder that I created on my desktop :) I just right clicked it, went to properties, customize, and changed the icon ^^ But I wouldn't recommend it! Changing too many folder's icons can make your computer slower :c
When trying to open the application it says it might put my computer at risk what should I do?
With sims 4 studio? As long as you downloaded it from the official website, you're good, it won't put your computer at risk: sims4studio.com/
@@LaulauPlays thanks!
I think I'm having a problem with the destination of the files. Where do your have your path linked to? The path I chose is: C:\Games\The Sims 4\Game \Bin. Is it wrong? Cuz I only got like, 5 stuff shown up.
The folder you found is where Origin installs the game. The one you want is over at your documents folder :) C:\User\Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ^^
There you have a folder called Screenshots, which is where the game saves the screenshots you take while playing the game, and you also have the mods folder, which is where you're gonna place the file you created with the sims 4 studio at the end :D
Oh My Plumbob thank you very much! I'll give it a try 😄
tmnt!!!
Can Canva be used as the Photoshop app?
If it can open png files, then yes 😀
how do I save photo
Taking photos in game? You press the key "c" and that takes a screenshot :D To then see the images, you go to your sims 4 folder (to where you usually install cc and mods) and there should be a folder there called screenshots ^^ More info here: kotaku.com/how-to-step-up-your-screenshot-game-in-the-sims-4-1653301553
But if you mean on photoshop, I made a tutorial on how to use it. Here: ua-cam.com/video/asRsNqO4Qtk/v-deo.html
Is there a way to do this with Mac
Yeah, sims 4 studio has a mac version :D
I still dont know how to put the photo in the frame....
Is it work on ps4?
Shatha xx no, only pc. Sorry :(
In game *
Is this really the only way to do this? I know its not that difficult, but I feel like there should be a simple mod that just converts your screenshots into in game place-able objects. Whether you take a picture with your sim camera, or the screenshot camera, it all goes to the same folder it seems. There has to be an even simpler way. Is there a camera mod that allows full range free roam when using the in-game sim camera?
As far as I am aware, this is the only way :c The mod you're describing is what I do in the video, there is no mod that does this for you and to me that makes sense. I am someone who takes a ton of screenshots, currently I have 732 in my folder, and I can only imagine how much that would slow down my game to load up all those screenshots in the game as items. The pictures you take in game show up in your screenshots folder if you use the c key instead of clicking on the camera button, so the in game pictures and screenshots, although they share the same key shortcut and can both show up in the same folder, they're not connected.
If you have Get to Work, you can have 2 sims take pictures together, or have one take a selfie, the pictures will show up in your sims inventory and you can hang 'em on a wall. Family portraits are not possible, unless you use pose player (a mod), download poses and set the sims in place, while another sim takes a picture in the photography studio, but it's a lot of work to get the sims in the right places for the photo and make it look right :/ But if you do follow that route, there is a mod that adds in custom frames for the pictures you take: peanutbutterjelly2002.tumblr.com/post/183165404405/functional-photo-frames-in-storylegacysims so the wall isn't the only place where you can hang them. But that's it in terms of alternatives.
can i do this on ps4
I'm not familiar with the console version of the game, so I don't know :( if you can have mods on there, maybe it could work, but I would check the Sims 4 studio website for more info
LaulauPlays i believe you can’t because we can’t have mods. but thanks.
voce e do Brasil? :) Fala ingles muito bem!
Não, sou portuguesa :D Obrigada
I was hoping for an option without downloading anything 😩😩 but great video!!!!
As far as I know, there is no other way. But since I made this video, the sims 4 moschino stuff pack came out, which expanded the photography skill we had in game, and you can take much better photos in game, that you can frame.
LaulauPlays i actually caved and downloaded it 😩😩😩
what if you dont have photoshop...
Watch the video, she told about a free variant, it's called "paint. net" it's also linked at the description.
best regards.
OMG! I'm first yay!
Good for you :) bc you are XD your not lieing
Welcome! :D ♥
This seems hard to do .
It's not hard, but it is annoying to do, especially if you want to make more than one :'D
This is so complicated 😭
Jpegs are poor quality. Saving as PNG is clearer.
This is waayy too much doing for pictures in a game
This video is from 2017, since then the Moschino stuff pack came out, and with it, you can take pictures of your sims in various poses (it pretty much expands the photography stuff that came with Get to Work) :) But without any packs, this is the only way that I know of.
@@LaulauPlays thank you yeah I know you can do it that way I was just looking to see if you can use screenshots as well
@@alexivulcano6517They should make it a feature, it's a lot of work, and sometimes it doesn't even end up looking good :(
@@LaulauPlays I know right! I tried putting all the pictures i took of my sims on the walls and it just looks tacky
