As a “car stereo guy” with almost 35 years experience, there aren’t many automotive-related videos with cars being disassembled and put back together that don’t my cringe or curl up in the fetal position. Great to see someone doing this stuff correctly.
What a great finish! I am so glad you got a hold of this vehicle versus the other builder who would’ve half aced it. So, I still maintain, I would buy any repaired vehicle done by Scott and his gnomes, sight unseen, other than watching the video of The actual repair. Best builder on the channel bar none! Have a great weekend Scott, you’ve earned it!
Scott, I find how amused I am at my OMG moments at how cars go together today. I worked on cars in the 80's, but they were from the 60's. Nuts bolts screws, no tabs, now trees and no one piece of anything. I see you putting parts back on with your "bumper installation tool" and just LOL. So, one of the things I enjoy about your videos is seeing how cars "Snap" together and marvel at how you know where the pieces come apart and a time later where they snap back in. Thanks for all that. Rich
Excellent rebuild again Scott. Were I in the Midwest of the USA I'd not have the slightest hesitation in buying a vehicle from you. Your quality and transparency sets you aside.
I don’t know what it is watching you put the vehicle back together scott but it’s so therapeutic for me, I’m sitting here just after giving my vehicle its annual wash yep I’m like you I don’t clean things very often and I’m very chilled, great post again scott
Scott, it' great to see you using mostly power tools to disassemble and reassemble. The rookies uploading videos here are using hand tools and wasting everyone watching's time. I bet Mr. Spotty also uses power tools. I bet at some point in your life you were a flat rate mechanic. Great clean, thorough work. I know many out there don't understand, but by you using cavity wax on rebuilds is a sign of a true craftsman that cares. Much props to you.
I am still a flat rate mechanic as my real job and learned long ago that you buy the tools and let them do the work and you make the money. Unless a power tool won’t fit or isn’t strong enough, the hand tools stay on the tool box!

Whoever buys it can be assured that it's done right and even the servicing is done, so it's like buying a brand new vehicle. No wonder your vehicles sell faster that you can rebuild them. Looking forward to your next video. All the best from Queensland Australia.
Yep, all I want the new owner to worry about is oil changes for as long as possible. The Terrain that I got back, that is all he had done with the exception of brakes and tires in the last six years.
This was a great video Scott, a little complicated but nothing a craftsmen like you can't handle. Scott: When using the manual pneumatic pop rivet gun people using it are often afraid of bouncing the tip of the gun off freshly painted surfaces and sometimes do just that. I have found that as you are finishing up the pop rivet, just before the rivet shaft breaks (pops), switch from pushing down the pop rivet gun to pulling it away from the rivet. When the rivet pops, the pop rivet gun will pull away from anything in danger of damage and all will be well!
I do like their ceiling design--- with it being all one piece, and every mounting point has a dual purpose, being a grab bar, or sun visor, or the clothes hooks in the back-- nicely refined. The trim around the windows sure seems like they could reduce by 3 or 4 parts. lol.. There are a lot of little pieces that layer onto it and only click together. I can see those being rattling headaches by the time this thing passes 300k miles.
38:14: you just gave me flashbacks to working in a battery store where the number of people who did this was not zero. Bringing back a battery and i pull off the little caps to test it, and they go "oh." Or seeing it installed in a car like that in the parking lot.

Tip When using a hand powered riveting gun there’s always the risk of scratching the crap out of your nice shiny new paint job when the rivet shaft snaps and the gun jumps around.
