Oh man, poor Apex. Did so well all race but couldn't handle the bamboozling. I'd like to think he met Barry R purely due to shock and awe.

Seems like Apex had their lines down pat, but the moment they had to deviate was the moment they failed to compensate. Even the best make mistakes, Apex was definitely living up to their name until the mishap occurred.
He just gave up and made it look like an accident, i'm pretty sure of it.
When I turned my turn signal on at 5:16 I was actually asking you to notice how lovely the wall looked! My biggest life accomplishment has been staring at the same wall with you, Steve.

I'm the same. I don't know why I expected pure mayhem but seeing his clean driving and how that puts you with other clean drivers made me give it a shot. It gave me entirely new life as racing game fan and player.

I feel bad for Apex. I think he must have aggressively stomped on the throttle to keep up as you shot around that curve, but the tires weren’t having it.

Awe man was waiting for a replay of that move!!! I guess no need to rub it in but I needed to see it from outside the car.
That first race crash reminds me of a mod for EA Sports F1 Challenge 99' - 02' that added the Valencia track for the EU Grand Prix, and so many CPU cars would drive through a faulty raceline that they ended up slamming the front left at T3. And in the first lap it would produce apocalyptic scenes of 80% the cars crashing either on the wall or in another car that also crashed. 6 year old me loved to load that race with the cpus and watch the replay of the catastrophe.

I’ve had that freezing issue. You need to do a cache reset, database rebuild then reinstall the game. Fixes it all.

I did this race once this week, driver rank B and fairplay rank A/S lobby, around half of the players quit after meeting with wall or other incidents, haha.
