Test Your Metal and Tonight We Ride are both fantastic ones to get into the band with, and Northwest Passage is a really cool take on a canadian folk song as well. This is my favorite band up there with Nightwish and Jinjer. Something people often don't know that the extend of their reallllly power metal style songs is pretty much half of each of the last couple albums, but they have a good mix throughout their years of all sorts of metal that is well worth a listen in my opinion.

I know it's a bit late, but last year, I was supposed to see them with DragonForce and Visions of Atlantis. But UtA has the same kind of power metal sound as Iron Maiden, with the speed metal prowess of DragonForce.

You need to check out Opeth, preferably Deliverance, great intro to their sound. They are a progressive death metal band incorporating various styles with clean and growls done by the same person, who also happens to be the guitarist as well. Another Swedish band. Great video as per usual man! 🤘🤘🤘

I get a Judas Priest/Iron Maiden vibe from them, which is all good. This is power metal, which is the same genre Dragonforce plays in so the comparison makes sense. I think these guys are more talented than Dragonforce, and she is a super talent. I could watch their drummer do crazy galloping beats and awesome fills like this song has all day.
This band would play with bands like Gamma Ray, Helloween, Symphony X, 3 Inches of Blood, Sabaton, Powerwolf, Blind Guardian and so on. It's more the power metal scene than the metalcore and standard heavy metal stuff you mentioned.

Still don't get why this kind of "stigma" is still around in the Internet. There are some live versions around from one of their first world tour's (Ultra Beatdown if i am not mistaken) where they had some pretty bad sound engineers (they had horrible Monitoring etc.) and they had a couple of gigs that were horrible, even the band don't deny that. Nevertheless, like them or not they are amazing live, super energetic and pretty onpoint even with the harder stuff. Yes, they are goofing around alot of the times ,but thats part of the live show. Do they play everything perfectly? Of Course not, nobody is doing that, but still i don't get why people still think or say that they are bad live. I bet most of the people just heard from someone that they are bad live and just take that as truth and spread the word, dunno but at annoys me tbh >.
