- This is a step by step, how to video, showing how to spray paint camo on your gun using dish soap as a stencil. This easy painting technique allows for simple or complex free-flowing shapes and interactive layers. The outlines made by the dish soap are more crisp, and are obtained without cutting stencils.
0:00 Introduction to spray painting a gun using dish soap.
2:03 Spray painting the gun with a solid base layer.
3:19 Adding soft and misted stencils to the base layer for organic shapes and gradients.
4:40 Overview of the first layer.
5:04 Time for the fun part, the mystery part, the soap.
5:52 Visualize what you want to keep from the previous layer before you put down soap.
7:17 Applying the first layer of soap onto the gun, then spray painting two colors for the second layer of paint.
9:03 A very soapy gun with fresh spraypaint.
9:36 Putting down the 1st layer of soap on reverse side of gun.
10:25 Painting on top of soap on reverse side, with a spray painting tip.
11:16 Washing off first layer of dish soap. Reveling 1st and 2nd layers of spray paint and patterns.
12:00 Applying 2nd layer of soap to gun. Lightly using 4 colors for 3rd layer of spray paint.
14:09 Soapy close up of freshly painted gun.

I paint as a professional, and I am very impressed. Awesome job, will be using this method in the future. Thank you!
Awesome, I appreciate the compliment!
Washing your gun on the side of your kids play pit is a uniquely American vibe
It was the best tool for the job, well atleast the best object closest to the hose.
You guys don't paint your guns? Where are you from? I'm in Kansas, most tactical guns get painted here
Yea, why not.
Today's inner-city children frighten me more than a guy in his backyard with a gun.
It needed to be washed as well. Perfect tyming.
I did my own after seeing this video. Turned out awesome. Thanks for posting.
Nice, that's awesome! I'm glad you found this video.
This is one of the best camo spray paint rifle I have seen on UA-cam it turned out awesome I'm gonna have to try your dish soap method. Good job man.
Thanks a lot, I appreciate it!
That pattern is CRAZY looks professional!!!
Thank you!
Broham that is sick. Im 100000000000000% going to do it to my guns
Doooitt
Wow
Very cool technique. Looks sick!
I used a sea sponge my first paint job and it came out really nice and unique but I’m going to use this method on the next build I’m starting once it’s complete. Thank you for the technique. Turned out super rad
Yeah I just made a video using a sponge from a dishwashing scourer but yeah you sea sponge being natural must have made a great pattern
one of the best camo spray paint rifle I have seen on UA-cam
That's awesome, appreciate that! Thanks for watching.
I ain’t going to lie, this video is good. The paint turned out phenomenal!!
Thank you, I appreciate sir.
Id recommend getting one of those dollar store empty ketchup bottles and you have more control over the soap and the pattern. Best part about camo is there very few ways to do it wrong, awesome vid.
Dude I know, I have one of those hiding in my kitchen somewhere I can't find! Hahaha time to forget it and buy another one.
Your on to something there. Very nice result
I like this better than multicam. Awesome job bud. If I were closer I'd let you do my AK, 😁😁
Haha heck yeah, thank you!
Great job. You have a good eye, I would have stopped to early. Thanks for sharing
Thank you, I was close to stopping after the first wash, it had more of an m81 look.
I'm a custom automotive painter and this looks awesome 🇨🇦
Right on, thank you!
You talked me right out of spray painting my rifle thanks bro better You than me. 🍻
Dude this is super badass I hope you're doing this on the side making money because I know a lot of people that are scared to attempt something like this theirselves on their guns and you're very good at doing it
Thank you dude! I'd like to eventually make a side hustle. It can be very scary painting a gun, especially one you really like!
@@SaveFace especially if it’s your buddy’s $3000 Noveske.
You never hear the end of it
@@jayonez137 hahahaha
I remember our buddy taught us this (-) the -soap- when I was in Iraq. He grabbed his twig and berries then went to find some sticks and showed us how its done.
This is the greatest hack of all time!
wow! Outcome is crazy 😧 love it!
Unique method to get great results. Looks like Rhodesian Brush stroke meets multicam. 🎩♠🏁🎯🏵🇺🇸💙💛🌻😎
That actually turned out really well
Yup, repainting my gun w this method. Good idea 👍🏽
Dude, thats purdy dern cool, good job.
Unusual method but you can't argue with the results. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for a great concept on painting camo 👍
Did not expect to hear June of 44 on a gun video. Hell yeah dude
Right on, one of my favorite bands. Poor choice for a youtube video I've learned haha.
I've been doing this for years... It looks way better than something done with stencils by far. Very easy to do. The soap will pool in some areas, so be mindful and use it sparingly. I use a good decreaser over rubbing alcohol. I would recommend using a big bottle and use a striping motion. Better results
Bro! This is what I've been searching for!!
Turned out amazing!
Thank you :)
One of the better looking rifle paint jobs I have seen. Good work
Right on, thanks for watching!
Looks super good, I'm gonna try this out. Thanks man.
Thanks a lot! Definitely helps the learning curve to practice on some random things first.
Awesome job! Also thanks for giving this method out. Seams way easier than a stencil .👍
No problem, thanks for watching! It's definitely way faster than stencils, it can be hard to visualize what you want with dish soap though.
Bro, you are nuts... But in a mad scientist kinda way. That paint job is badass!
Yooo, I'll take it! Thanks man!!
Nice job it's an amazing idea using soap, like it... 🤩🤩🤩
Indeed, very cool
Really sweet camo patterns, I definitely got try this
That looks great!🇺🇸
Looks rad. I'm definitely going to try this on one of mine.
what an awesome technique! great job, and it looks top notch!
Thank you sir!
That's a nice technique,,I'm going to remember this thanks
That turned out sick!
That’s a damn fine paint job.
I’m impressed with how it turned out.
I used a non slip shelf liner and pined it tight to my AR and sprayed it with 3 darker colors on a khaki base coat. It turned out great as well. Kind of a snake skin pattern.
Thanks man. That's cool about the shelf liner! I just painted my 10-22 using some shelf liner, it is a cool pattern, different from the usual mesh bags used.
@@SaveFace what other patterns have y'all heard of using?
@@clintmullins8670 any fabric with some openings, I've heard of people using lingerie etc haha. But most flora in your surroundings works great too

thank you sir!
Dude, that comes out amazing. Will be trying it!
Multi-pass awesomeness
I like multi-pass!

Thanks man, appreciate it
Dude that came out great, it looks amazing!
Wow, this turned out nicely! Thanks for giving me ideas :)
You got really nice results, awesome
Looks great.
Seriously impressive. I’m going to try this method with an older Remington 870 12 gauge.
I to may try this on cheap shot gun just as proof of concept
That’s freaking cool paint job, never would have thought of using soap, most DIY use a laundry bag. Good job
Thank you! I'm messing around with the soap and a mesh bag right now.
I just tried this. It's amazing
That's awesome!
Looks like a great addition to multicam range - ‘Multicam Arid’
Awesome kinda looks like multicam.
It's like hydrodipping in reverse. Very cool
Friggin sweet man!!
Now you gotta get a layer or seven of some good ol “battle wear” AKA go shoot the darn thing. Don’t reckon I’ve seen this method before it turned out killer! Well done thanks for sharing!
Thank you, yeah I've treated this like a new pair of white shoes the couple times I've taken it out haha. But the novelty will fade away soon enough.
Never been a fan of camo but that came out AWESOME Bro!!💯
Thanks dude!
Oh 👨 man i'm crazy about your work, you know since i've watch your own video like this i feel i ain't break to see this video, i always watching again and again...oh my gosh you are so awesome men

Looks sickk I love it I have to give it a shot on my AR
Very cool! I am inspired to try it.
very cool. totally original. can't say enough good things. Just amazing!!!!!!
Thanks so much!
I'm hitting the like button cuz the Montana can...
Seriously the best look I have seen A++++👍👍👍
Awesome, thank you!
@Save Face, you've definitely got tons of comments praising your work, rightfully so. I just wanted to say that I've been wanting to spray my ARs for a while now, and have watched plenty of videos on it. Some of them came out pretty nice, but still hadn't been "wowed" by them.
Then I saw this. Outstanding. I'm definitely going to try this method. I would have stopped after the first rinse, but you kept going, to my surprise, and it came out even better. Outstanding man!
Thank you so much man! I appreciate the nice compliment. I was kinda motivated by the lack of simple "wow" paint jobs. I personally think most of the laundry bag paint jobs could be much better with a little more planning/ another color. I was pretty close to stopping after the first wash. But I had done enough test runs to know a second layer of soap would be best. Thanks again.
Dam dude that is awesome, came out really nice!! Thanks for the info
Looks pretty darn good!
That's cool as hell. I like.good job
Good job! Looks Great!!
Looks awesome on an awesome gun dude!
Looks good, I Iike it. Will try this eventually.

Looks awesome
Pretty cool I’ve painted a lot of rifles never seen it done like that .
Looks good
Hey thank you.
I painted my first AR today before I saw your video. I just used the Tiger stripe method of different colors diagonally adjacent to each other. I absolutely love it. And then I saw this and I'm doing another one tomorrow. Your weapon came out bad ass!
Thanks man! That's awesome, there's some solid tiger stripe methods out there for sure.
This is really cool
That's really nice looking! I might try that using urban colors on my AR pistol. Thanks for the idea.
Hell yeah:)
Way cool man! Great job!
Looks mfing Awesome! Watching you pump the soap on cracked me up! LoL
