One thing I noticed is ever since I started cooking only from raw ingredients, my taste buds have become more and more sensitive, and I can not stand the strong sauce, spices, or artificial flavors anymore. I enjoy the original smell and tastes of meat, fish, vegetables, fruits, oils. My son eats the same way since born and he naturally enjoys food as they originally are.

Great video ❤I have Crohns so I am non- GMO,gluten free,no dairy, no oils (except coconut or olive oil),VERY low sugar, and if I buy something other than veggies-the ingredient list must be short AND I must be able to pronounce them. Doing these things has relieved ALL bloating/discomfort and constipation. Now I am tackling getting rid of plastic products in my life…. Thanks so much for your insight,Dr.Mindy!❤

Every time I see "Natural Flavors" on a label, I put the item back. If they can't be bothered to say what is in the product, I can't be bothered to eat it.
*Even Keto Chow - I asked them directly and got back an email saying it was "proprietary information!"

After 30 years sworn off my yo-yo dieting lifestyle, throwing the scales away, with no intention of letting thoses numbers rule my life again. I finally discovered the fasting lifestyle. Your videos, together with Jason Fung have been so helpful.
I still dont know my current weight, or where I even started this journey 6 months ago. My doctor had recorded my weight five years ago, which I never knew either. I was really encouraged when rhe nurse got me back on the scales, with the instructions to keep the figure to herself, I did however ask how much since my last weigh in. A whole 18kg, no matter how you look at it that is one fantastic result. One day when I feel I'm at the weight my body decides is my perfect weight, maybe then i might get to know the numbers again.
I'm 63 years old and soooo pleased to have now changed my lifestyle for the better. Thankyou for the advice, I'm so thankful to good people like you that are truly concerned about folks health and wellbeing.

My parents moved to Vermont and went back to the land. We ate out if the garden and locally as best they could. I got hooked on junk food in my 20s and was obese by my mid 20s. At 48 I went whole foods plant based and lost 100 pounds. So many changes occurred in my body and I got to eat as much as I wanted. I do fasting of some sort every day. I listen to my body and what it needs. And I have maintained that weight loss, I am 56 now. It is true. We are not meant to eat highly processed foods. And my body thanks me every day! ❤

Not new to me but a good refresher. I can get almost angry grocery shopping. I look at ALL ingredients unless i know its safe from previous scrutiny. Takes so much time. But the most agravating thing is when i pick up an item advertising to be safe & see toxic ingredients among the healthy ones. Like they will tote good oils & then throw sugar in it. Grrr. The more aware people are, the better chance we have of changing course of bad health into good.

I have been fasting, eating whole foods and building muscle for 8 weeks now and the physical and mental benefits have been noticeable (weight loss, decreased menopause symptoms etc). This is after 44 years of constant yoyo dieting and 5 years of miserable peri menopause symptoms. I am trying to bring this new lifestyle to the whole family and i am keen my children (ages 9 and 12) learn along with me. Slowly i am seeing them get on-board (more wholefoods leading to less requests for junk food, fizzy drinks etc). They are particularly enjoying the gentle exercise/muscle building element. It would be great if Dr Mindy could do more on how best to teach some of her messages to kids (and possibly also teaching husbands!). I will definitely get my kids to google some of the ingredients as suggested in the video above! A big thank you to you and your team 🎉

My cravings have definitely shifted after four months of serious fasting. I've done about ten 72-hour fasts, dabbled with 12-hour dry fasts, and if I'm doing neither of those things on any given day I probably eat one large meal mid-day and sometimes a small snack about four hours later.
I still eat garbage on special occasions (birthdays), and I find that I crave healthy food afterward much more than I was craving the junk food. I used to eat dessert after every single meal, and now it's a couple times a month (and it's not as good as it used to be!) I'm more likely to have a ferocious craving for something like sauerkraut or a particular fruit rather than ice cream or cheesecake.
    I'm down 25 pounds since April 1st.
Thank you Dr. Mindy!!! I'm 52 and I wish I had discovered fasting decades ago.

Hello Mindy and team. I turned 65 this year and I have been checking labels for over 40 years and I have been watching the changes. The ingredient sections within the products labels over the passed 30+ years are very disturbing even some ( a lot!! ) of the vitamins supplements are dodgy and dangerous as well.
I feel for those that have know idea and more importantly don`t care, it is disturbing. I see more pregnant women eating junk and obese children with bad skin problems. It scares me and I feel helpless, the majority of the population looks sick (dull skin, fat, grumpy, depressed etc,). Mindy thank you and your team for doing what you do. Fasting has help me and that is because of you Mindy and those that do care out there. You are appreciated Thank You All for caring and sharing with the world.🤗🤗❤❤🦘🦘🦘🦘

Been doing IF 16:8 then went to 18:6 but then I got a parasite from a triple washed bagged salad. Its been so hard getting better but finally Im making progress again. And Im so excited cause I pre-ordered fast like a girl but I’m so excited and I cannot wait till October to get it so I ordered some of your other books on Amazon so I could learn your approach and I’m so excited. Currently my cycle is supposed to be starting, but I still haven’t seen it and I’m worried that I might’ve fasted too much because I didn’t know you weren’t supposed to fast the week before your period. No one ever taught me that in the fasting world, but of course all the women I talk to were well through menopause. So I can save my period and rebalance my hormones.

I’ve been vegetarian most of my life, but until I started intermittent fasting a few years ago ( with a few extended blips ), I had no intuitive understanding of what my body wanted and needed. Maintaining a healthy diet was incredibly hard work because I didn’t recognise my own body’s responses to what I was feeding it. I started intermittent fasting to loose weight but the other benefits continue to amaze me. Eating healthy real foods, even in fairly complex variations depending on my needs, has become almost entirely intuitive. The communication between my body and my mind is now like a trusting easygoing friendship, where once it was an awkward and confusing battle of wills. My diet isn’t perfect, sometimes I eat a sugary cake or something nutritionally rubbishy ( and enjoy it ), but even then my body and mind seem to deal with occasional rubbish meals with zero drama. It’s still amazing to me that there is ( and probably was always meant to be ) this synergy that comes with simply changing how often you eat. It’s such a joy to eat now, there’s none of the guilt and misery involved in trying to maintain a healthy diet and constantly failing or just feeling deprived and hungry and suffering with all the horrible symptoms of insulin resistance. I’m so grateful to your channel, learnt so much over the last few years, such a brilliant resource to visit and revisit. Thank you

Use several cups worth to help you leech the chemicals they are pouring in to food. My tinnitus decreased greatly after doing this. Natural flavors have MSG....this will cause the brain to fire up and the tinnitus goes way up. Hope this helps...keep it up sister. PS. Lovin those Orchids.

Until I saw one of your videos and red “The menopause reset”. I’m forever thankful for your work. I started to fast, did slowly but steadily to the point where I can do 36 hours easily and had done 72 hours with some effort. I am just 5’ so any extra weight shows really fast and also I have lipedema and my weight concentrates on my hips and legs. I started weighting 168lb and I am down to 138lb, and that in 3 months 🎉 I have never felt better, I have lots of energy, sleep well and I am not swelling like crazy anymore. Thank you for this video! My concern lately regarding fresh veggies and fruit from the store is a coating on them called Apeal (I may not be spelling it right) that cannot be washed off and from what I read, it penetrates into the fruit/veggie. How do we tell if we have purchased this because it is not labeled as such? I do grow my veggies and purchase at farmers markets but in the fall/ winter we do not have that option. I am so concerned as to how our food is being manipulated to cause us ill health.

Thanks for your continued efforts in highlighting this.
You are correct that it’s the responsibility of oneself to ensure that they are having a balanced healthy diet !! By doing this really does make you a healthy more energized person especially along with fasting in a way that works for the individual and their lifestyle.
Whilst I accept that there is less unhealthy ultra processed options you are right that everyone has the power to just say no and stick to healthy Whole Foods as much as possible…. Where my biggest pet hate is those food companies that provide so called food that are full of chemicals, preservatives etc but market this in a way that it’s healthy and good for you… You are correct and profit is the big food companies aim above human health.

It must be taken into consideration that in order to feed millions people, some preservative are necessary. Summarily condemning preservatives in foods is near sighted. Fact is, not all preservatives' are dangerous for human consumption. From time immortal, salt, peppers, drying and other preservation methods have been employed. One can argue those methods have been improved upon.

Yes except that’s not what’s being used anymore. It’s literal poison.
But to your point-what we need is a revamping of how food is supplied. Focusing on growing and normalizing locally sourced food from regenerative farms is what we need to support. And we need to get away from monocultural farming practices.

I have heard that some organic fruits and veggies have organic chemical pesticides sprayed on them, is that true and are they safe to consume? Because fresh food doesn't have labels to tell you what has been sprayed on them. And now some food are being coated with apeel that's marketed as an all natural coating, but I've heard that it's unhealthy to consume, is that true and how should we know if something has been coated in apeel?

If you can't buy healthy food, then work on fasting and drinking lots of water. Some cheap foods that that are really healthy. Celery is a very healthy herb, cilantro and parsley mix in with your process food. Mix one fresh vegetable with your process food. Then try two next week. Hope this helps you in your journey. Just realized that a lot of food that says healthy looking at the ingredients are not. Baby steps ok, you coming on her UA-cam and listening to her is a huge step in health. She is giving a lot of information for free. If I went to a specialist it would be like 300$.

I'm a disabled vet. I get a VA pension of 1379$ a month. I eat grass fed beef, eggs and grass fed beef liver. I spend 10$ a day at most. The BS that low income people can't afford to eat healthy is an excuse. My A1C is extremely better since I have been eating the carnivore diet AND it's MUCH cheaper to eat this way than to eat the standard American diet. Most grocery stores have grain fed ground beef on sale for 2.99 a pound and eggs are 2$ a dozen. Anyone can live on a pound of ground beef and a dozen eggs a day. That's less than 5 dollars for the most nutrient dense food that keeps you satiated AND is the most healthy way to eat. Dr. Anthony Chaffee and Dr Ken Berry on UA-cam if you want more information. ❤❤

I'm not finding much info on this…my cycles: irregular as in rarely miss a period, usually really really short cycles/short luteal phase, not usually same length but often drastically differing cycle lengths. Due to this, it is hard to plan my Dr. Mindy fasting/work lifestyle schedule when I can’t predict when each phase would start/end. Trying to sync my cycles with the moon phases to keep more consistent/predictable (moon cycling). But if I am practicing Dr. Mindy’s lifestyle recommendations that make me do the opposite of what my body is currently doing then I'm not supporting my hormones in the present day. I'm sacrificing their lack of support now with the hope to have my cycles synced in the future/supported in the future.
For example: My period started much earlier in the Nurturing Phase than per the moon cycle schedule. So, I'm not fasting and eating low carb (ketobiotic) like I should while on a period. But instead everything for supporting Nurturing Phase instead of Power Phase because I’m still following the moon cycle schedule, not what my body is doing on its own.
    1. Will my cycles ever sync up?
    2. Is it worth the sacrifice now?
    3. Is any of this the proper way of doing this?

Sautéing veggies in olive oil with just some salt and pepper and garlic is wonderful. Roasting them in the oven is great too (after tossing into extra virgin olive oil with salt and pepper, and garlic). Just keep it simple. Add the spices and herbs that you like. Season your meat with sea salt, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika. Pan sear, grill, air-fry-whatever you like. Bake a potato and throw that in there too if you like. Eggs in the morning, anyway you like. Add some greens like spinach or broccoli, or mushrooms, bell pepper, onions. It doesn’t have to be complicated at all.
I haven’t gotten it yet, but I would bet that Dr. Mindy’s new book “Eat Line a Girl” would be tremendously helpful for someone like you who is new to all of this. Good luck! You can do this. ❤
