SAILING 628 MILES WITH ONLY ONE WORKING SAIL - SwT 187 - I FINALLY MADE IT TO BALI
Вставка
- Опубліковано 30 чер 2024
- 628 nautical miles is a long sail with only one sail left that's working!
Sailing nonstop from Timor Leste to Bali Indonesia with strong ocean currents and not many sails left after my eventful sail earlier this year. Hopefully, there is a sail loft in Bali that can help me fix one of my main sails and even my genoa. Bali the island of Gods has been on my top 10 list for a long time and I can't wait to explore. But also this time I was delayed by customs and immigration due to some errors from last time in Indonesia. The bureaucracy for yachts entering or leaving Indonesia is quite a task and I really recommend using an agent.
With great assistance from my friends here and even in Jakarta everything finally worked out smoothly and I can now enjoy Indonesia for a long time.

ABOUT THIS CHANNEL:
I'm a sailor with a UA-cam channel and not a UA-camr. Sailing around the world in a Bavaria 55 Cruiser mostly solo, making videos whenever we have time for it.
Comfortable at sea with 4 decades of sailing experience and hundreds of thousands of miles behind me.
Even though this is season 6 on UA-cam I did not make that many videos in the beginning, and obviously not from my entire sailing life. Before full-time sailing 6 years ago, I sailed several seasons in the Mediterranean, and obviously also in Scandinavia. I had my first sailboat at age 7 and have been sailing and racing ever since. Also, more than 10 years of experience as a captain in Search and Rescue at sea in Norway.
So many remarkable moments in this video when you arrive Bali. The dinghi sailor at the sunset, the guy laughing hard when you told him he will be in the next video. And obviously the pollution at sea, once more a reminder to all of us. Thanks for sharing Thomas 👋
I'm shocked at your subscription levels. Your knowledge, experience and planning skills are worth a huge audience.
Thank you so much for your kind words🙏🏻
All the best
You get, what you give! You definitely deserve the care given. Another great episode. Thank you
I think this is a very good comment. I would give it 10000 likes if I could.
Another outstanding video Thomas, great job putting it together. It is so wonderful that you had great friends anchored beside you to help you through your immigration process. Enjoy your new adventures in Bali! Fair Winds & Following Seas Thomas!
I hope Precision Sails has come through for you since we last messaged. I love your music free sailing. Hearing the wind, sails, and ocean. 👏
Sending out concern and well wishes for everone and everything in Beryl's path. 🙏
Thanks for sharing your lovely reception and friends, Thomas.
Still the best sailor with a youtube channel 👍
Another great video!!
Nice passage through two difficult currents, looking forward to Bali content. Fair winds Thomas.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
It was quite interesting passage. Can’t wait to share my Bali experience as it’s so much to see and do here.
All the best
Thanks again Thomas for all the nice videos. I really like to watch your adventures. Keep save.
Thank you so much for being here and for your kind comment🙏🏻
At one time I had a girl friend who told me she had visited Bali. She kept it short, said it was beautiful.
Guess she had a good time on the island that never sleeps. It’s for sure a beautiful island 🏝
All the best
Great episode, thomas! Glad that you made it to bali with only one sail! Enjoy your time in bali 😊
One sail passage! Well done.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
All the best

Thank you so much for kind words and for being here 🙏🏻
Selamat datang di Indonesia lagi!
terima kasih banyak! bali adalah tempat yang ramah
Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
What an awesome video. So relaxing while you are sailing. Thank you for sharing! ❤ ⛵️ 🛥
Thank you so much for your kind comment and for being here🙏🏻
Love watching your adventures and great content! One thing I have learned about sailing through these pacific island nations is that Bureaucracy is unbelievable! The Caribbean seems like more fun and simpler!
Thank you so much for watching. The Caribbean is for sure super easy compared to the South Pacific not to forget south east Asia. All the best
The black dust is what makes Indonesian soo rich, volcanic ash
I grew up on a sailboat named Free
Take care Thomas💙🎉🦋👏👍
Thank you so much for watching and for being here 🙏🏻
Benoa has days when the nearby garbage incinerator adds to the environmental imbalances.. Head up to North east coast has a few lovely places with good anchorages.
I’m for sure gonna check out the northern part of Bali as well. I have heard it’s really beautiful there.
Thank you so much for watching 🙏🏻
incredible how you captured the confused sea, i almost got sick from watching the troubeld waters
Thanks you so much for watching and for being here! I’m glad to know you could see the waves and get a feeling of how it can be sometimes. All the best
Good to know you did arrived to Bali safe
Thank you so much 🙏🏻 Warm greetings from Bali
Great video! My husband and i are cruisors also but just starting out. You mentioned not using your water maker and instead getting water delivered locally. My question is how do you ensure the delivered water is ok to drink? Thanks Thomas and fair winds and following seas in your travels. Maybe some day we will catch up to you! SV Dulcinea
Thank you so much for watching and for being here.
I have filters on my water systems but still don’t trust the delivered water. Only use this for shower and cooking. Drinking water is so cheap here so are buying big (19 liters) bottles to be on the safe side.
Enjoy your sailing and cruising life⛵️
Warm greetings from Bali
It's so sad to see all the garbage in the ocean 😢.
Nice sailing though. Regards from Sweden. 😄
Thank you so much! Yeah it’s definitely not nice to see all this plastic. Warm greetings from Bali
69 Patreons, could be more to help you out with new sails 😉
Thank you for caring and support Miq! I’m so thankful to see the Patreons are growing for every day. It’s a big support for a small channel 🙏🏻
Hey man. Good to see you back in port. Good luck sorting the sails.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Show my dream.👏👏
Thank you so much for being here 🙏🏻
You deserved a wonderful passage, making it look easy too! The fastest line isnt straight, master class. The Volcano on Lombok is massive, it blew my horizon when l saw it. Its very busy there and you didnt encounter any massive car ships going south in the straight?
Great video ad usual.
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Great ace to be Tomas!
Been there 5 times! Love the pace and people are so great!
❤ from 🇨🇦BC
Thank you so much for watching and your positive vibe 🙏🏻 Warm greetings from Bali 🏝
@wolfandrabbit I was just thinking the same thing! I sort of expected similar subscription levels as Delos or Nahoa. Thomas is very underappreciated .
Thank you so much for your kind comment and your support 🙏🏻 I try to stay away from exaggerating drama and click baiting. And offcourse no bikinis and BS. So it’s definitely hard to break through the noise with this strategy. Lots of potential for improvement for sure, yet it’s truly amazing to se how this channel is still growing for every day.
Thank you so much for being here 🙏🏻
Great video Thomas best sailing filming as ever.
Thank you so much for your support and kind words 🙏🏻
Hi Thomas, best beer you can get in Indonesia is San Miguel which is a Filipino beer absolutely delicious better than Bing Tang
Stå på Thomas. Bra video
Tusen takk 🙏🏻
👍🍻
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
Trist å se all søpla. Du e flink Thomas 😎👨✈️
Tusen takk 🙏🏻
Hyggelig tilbakemelding er alltid motiverende for å holde på med videoer.
Varme hilsener fra Bali
An other great video.
All that plastic floating in the ocean makes me sick.
Cheers
Thank you so much for watching! Yes it’s a sad sight for sure. All the best
Thank you Thomas.
For sharing your life and vast experiences on Be Free. I envy you.
Sadly my guess is that the dirt is from Air Pollution.
Fair Sailing, from South Africa
Thank you so much for tagging along on my adventures.
All the best
Hi mate from Brisbane Australia…….black dust could be graphene oxide ..comes from chemtrails…..use a magnet over the dust and see if it sticks to it
There are videos on line where people are using magnet and picking up black dust on our white beach sand…..
Hi there! Yeah you could be right, I didn’t think about this.
I do know there is lots of crazy experiments going on.
Even mainstream media back home are telling its viewers that within 10 years the companies where even Norway are involved will be able to reduce the global temperature chemically enhancing the clouds.
As a sailor living in touch with the nature and understanding a bit about weather I believe it’s extremely dangerous when humans trying to play God.
I think Gee is also in Bali 😃
✌️😁
What makes you think that?
Thank you so much for watching
@@SailingwithThomas I saw a picture of her at Bali....on Instagram
It's a shame to see all of the plastic and other garbage floating around the ocean. Perhaps others seeing this will reduce their usage of single -use plastic. Thomas, Cheers from Los Angeles.
Thank you so much for watching and for being here 🙏🏻 It’s terrible to see all the garbage I have sailed through. Not only here but even when crossing the Atlantic. Some parts of the Caribbean as well. Really sad
Warm greetings from Bali
Jakarta? Did you go there by plane? To get permission?
No I didn’t have to go to Jakarta. I have friends there that have been very helpful.
I’m so privileged to have so many amazing people helping and supporting.
South East Asia has probably the worst polluted seas.
That’s probably true but sadly I feel I have been sailing through plastic and garbage ever since leaving Europe. The worst experience so far is still along the coast of Dominican Republic in the Caribbean.
Thank you so much for being here
I imagine you only have 23000 subscriptions as you dont use boobs and sex shots in your lead photo. God Bless you.
Your channel is a breath of fresh air in a world of fantasized reality. As you have stated... "this was a real storm not a youtube storm"
Annoying how the third world countries invent endless rules for people like you but they clearly have you at a disadvantage. Anyone that shows up there on a yacht is rich. might as well take some of their money.
I would rather see poor countries taking advantage of you than rich corporations extorting the poor for things they need... which happens every day.
Loved the boat shots of sailing. Breath taking.
Thank you so much for being here and for your kind words as well. Sadly I believe you are correct even though I also know I have a huge potential to improve. But for sure trying to stay away from BS and drama etc is not the formula for fast growth of a channel. The interesting fact is now and then even I receive click bait drama accusations, but I guess it’s mostly from viewers not familiar with this channel.
My goal is always to surprise my friends here with more and better content than the thumbs and titles promise.
Not always I succeed but this is what I try to do. Sometimes even the most boring thumbs can have the best videos.
All the best
@@SailingwithThomas Holy wow dont I feel special. Thanks for the reply. You are a celebrity to me so I am so flattered.
For fun I think I would try a few pictures of a babe on beach and tittle the video. "This woman is not in this video. Its like a joke to click baiting.
I used to watch numerous sailing channels but they just got worse and worse for naked women and stupid content as it gets hits. You are now one of two sailing channels I watch. Your travels of the last six month have changed my perspective on that part of the world.
cheers.
Hi Thomas, unfortunately there’s 280 million Indonesians and there will be a lot of pollution in the ocean. Unfortunately this is a third world country and pollution is fairly high in the air on the ground and unfortunately in the ocean
YOU DESERVE FOOD REST A FACIAL A SHAVE ,FULL BODY WORK ! SWIMMING IN FRESH WATER ! A FULL RECOVERY ROUTINE !
Thank you so much 🙏🏻
I look tired from extreme weather and quite long sailing with lots of challenges.
Some rest will do me good now!
All the best
Thomas you put us all to shame, 4 days now I'm Fcking round trying to leave and you've done 600NM!! Garbage is a huge problem from SEC Sea... Runs out of the rivers from all of the Europeans recycling waste thats sent to asia...
SAfe Watch
And much of this rubbish ends upon the beaches of northern Australia and in the Gulf of Carpentaria.
@@True.blue-Aussie makes it all the way back to the UK/EU that sent it… that’s why you got that massive Rapid increase from early 2000.. they sent container ships of “recycling” for years to China & SEA. 90% of it not recyclable. Instead of putting it in an EFW and getting rid of it for ever with some free electric on the back
