      "I don't do maintenance"
Then loses two solar panels when the wind picks up. Lol.
I really like Barry. I enjoy following his journey. I prefer the sailing bits, though.

Hi, just wondering what you do to look after the steel hull, and protecting/treating rust. Does the interior have to be removed ? I chatted with Nick Skeates some years ago, (he designed the Wylo yacht). He reckoned every 5 years taking everything out of his boat to sort the hull, which apparently rusts from the inside.

Every upload, no matter how harrowing the conditions it portrays, is assurance that you're still out there, somewhere safe enough to upload a video. You're on an amazing journey. It's hard, it's tough, it's dangerous, but it's the most beautiful journey one can take. Amazing.

If you don't enjoy sailing in rough conditions you can stick to day-sailing close to home in fair weather and calm seas. However, everyone prefers to watch videos of those who are adventurous and skilled enough to safely sail the oceans. As a skilled and lovable but geriatric blue water solo sailor, Barry is in a class of his own!

Chances are you will never see this post, but let's give it a try. A video has been recommended to me by UA-cam. A "flopper stopper". A "device" to stop the boat from rolling around at anchor. It's just a flexible bucket tied with a rope to the jib pole and left to hang over board, deep in the water. Should maybe help with those nights at anchor.

You should consider "sea dog clamps" for your solar panels. They're incredibly strong (I've had two hold a 100 watt solar panel through 100kmph winds). Plus if you're concerned about the weather over night you can easily remove the panels and put them down below. I highly recommend them.
