You are absolutely KILLING it with this truck. All of your mods/improvements have been done the right way and they look fantastic. If there's such a thing as a "truck meet", I would be psyched to see this there.
Thanks! Definitely coming together. I'd love to do a black interior swap honestly, I think they look so much better than the tan. Or maybe maybe make it two tone? Idk, just depends on if I find parts for a decent deal
@@AllThingsBoost Yes, that’s the key. I bought an old ranger last year and was able to swap out most of the interior from an XLT in a junkyard. Yours will likely be more difficult to find good used upholstery.
You need a key on power on source. I used a add a fuse to my fuel pump, looking back, probably not the best place. Use a multimeter to find one, then use it as the power wire for the DRL
Did you get the headlights with the amber in them bc I can’t find any with good ratings without the amber and I wanna do switchbacks and I’m afraid if I do that it will look goofy I’m just wondering if your lights have the little amber peice in them
Pretty sure I got both off Ebay or amazon. The tailgate I took off the plastics and repainted, then added the letters. It is all documented on my YT channel
If you have 2 bulbs/wires for high and low beam than you have the sport style headlights. The base 2nd gens like mine share a single bulb / plug for high and low beams
Quick question, I'm trying to do this to my 1999 1500 sport, and these headlights descriptions are sayying non sport headlights and I can't find the sport ones, what's the difference they seem similar
@@AllThingsBoost ah ok, so if I'm understanding it right there the same bracket mounts/design, and the only thing that's different is the housing..? I'm just asking before I spend money on this product
If this is your first time, I'd suggest wiring it into the parking lights. Pull the blinker bulb, and find out which ones get power with a multimeter when the parking lights are on, then tap into that power wire and use a ground for the headlight LED bar. That way the DRL comes on when you turn on parking lights. I knew of a key on power on wire readily accessible (not there on a stock truck, it went to a aftermarket lift pump, so I tapped into that and ran my own wires so the DRLs come on when the truck is on. Hope that helps a little.
I'm currently running a factory style led bulb 6500k. Unfortunately the set I ordered swapped the high and low beams, so that's annoying. I need to do a retro fit eventually to a projector setup, the light output was degraded pretty hard with the smoked lense.
It states on Amazon that these are only for dual function factory bulb replacement. My 2002 3500 doesn't have factory DRL in the blinker. They are just one function I guess. Just want to make sure these will work. I have already similar headlights.
I dont think I understand. Mine doesn't have factory DRLs in the blinker either. The duel function bulb means that the same bulb can do high and low beams. Unless you have the sport edition 2 bulb design, you have duel function bulbs.
Ah, I see. Yeah, mine are the same, parking and blinker. I wired up the DRL leds to a known key on power on wire in mine so I effectively have a daylight running light. Ive also done it to the parking lights in the past, obviously you dont get the nice running light feature without manual input. They will work just fine to answer your question, just up to you on the final wiring for that DRL feature.
I just got them off amazon. I cant recall if we have 9004 or 9007 headlights, but like I said in the video I got it backwards and installed the other ones. So my brights are low beam and low are high beam. Once you find which one they are supposed to be, just put "900* led headlight bulbs" in amazon and you'll find them.
Been holding up pretty well, after they got aimed I dont have any complaints. Light out put is mildly affected by the tint though, so dont expect them to be much brighter than stock even with the LEDs
@@AllThingsBoost I’m having to get rid of a set on my 1st Gen Durango because of the tint. On my 2g ram I’ll be going black background clear lens because of it, switching everything over.
I did not. I dont think the 2nd gen incorporated the hyper blink that you generally get when switching to LEDs, I needed them on my 2002 avalanche, but the dodge was plug and play no issues
@@kennethhelfrich3803 no, parking lights are when you flip the headlight switch to turn on cab lights, amber lights and tail lights, but the headlight bulbs them selves are not on. Running lights are on no matter what as long as the vehicle is turned on
I just wired them up, I don’t know if I connected it to the high beam or the ground because all my headlight wires are different colours, only the blinker led strips are on and the main light ones aren’t lighting up

Sure. Wish you would have added the wiring part of that. Don't look like anybody on UA-cam has a video on that
Same can’t figure out the running light wire
Since there is no law that states we need daytime running lights, why can’t we just not hook that part up?

They were from Amazon, just search the bulb type and LED conversion

I’ve got a 96 and have been looking everywhere trying to find that tailgate marker assembly. Is that OEM or aftermarket?
Aftermarket
Those bottom bolts are a pia, with the bumper attached,, prob worse with the brush guard.

Will those fit sport model? Some say not fit sport
I believe the sport models have a 2 bulb housing design, so no, these would not work. The sport models are considered an upgrade to these style.
