When I was a youngster, it was always my dream to get out to that island and hideout there. Now I’m lying in bed watching my dream fulfilled. Fun video, and you’ve captured my all time favourite views.👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
The trick with inflatable kayaks is to inflate up to pressure, have a quick paddle which will cool the air in it down and reduce the pressure, re-inflate back to the recommended pressure and you are good to go. Don't forget to let some air out when you take it out of the water again otherwise it may burst. If you want a stable kayak with loads of room, maybe look at a Sevylor Colorado. lovely camp and thunderstorm - It helps me a lot in those rafts to pop something of weight in the bow, keeps it down in the water and helps with stability. Would love to be out there wild camping like that. I live vicariously through you.

Your tent spray was probably due to the speed of the water droplets hitting the fabric that hard it was shattering into a fine spray, your tent held up really well considering, but it just goes to show how quickly the weather can change in an instant.

Have a look at Loch shiel at Glenfinnan in Scotland. Nice little island to camp on with easy parking and launch from the memorial car park in Glenfinnan. As far as your paddling technique, your doing fine. A wide boat will always restrict your stroke with a double paddle. I use a single canoe paddle to help stay dry when I'm in my sevylor inflatable. Did you know you can now take your boat on ladybower with a day launch ticket..... top end of the res is quiet enough for an overnighter if you get tucked away. 😜

the shin noodles are great for camping you can add anything or nothing to them and they are still substantial unlike regular ramen but if you do add ... well you can take pre cooked bacon ... hard boiled eggs lunch meats like turkey or roast beef fish if ya catch em

They Are somehow so calming.
Quick and easy change you can make for your paddling is to sit up straight with your legs bent. You’ll use your core and shoulder strength much more efficiently. Also if you’re venturing up to Skye etc don’t be paddling in the sea in that inflatable! Get yourself a roof rack and a touring kayak and you’ll be bossing it!

Always enjoy your trips. The drift may have been caused by the wind. You should sit up right, slightly forward and central. Any weight to either side will start you turning. Always look in the direction of were you going as this places your body in the right place. Personally I always wear a helmet when on any water, but Ive all the gear and a white water kayak. In the end be safe, enjoy. Final observation In strong wind I imagine you will have trouble paddling in the direction you wish for, as the boats are light. Have fun.😂😎👍

I did exactly same camp same situation in kayaks with few mates ten years ago was a right laugh I remember one mate who was behind me on the kayaks on the water close to the island being dive bombed by a bird probably protecting its nest on the island never forget him trying to paddle frantically while trying to shoo off a bird in the water losing his balance funniest thing ever try loch lomond we and a few others have done this also many times lots of islands to choose from one even has a pub on it and lots of exploring to do we parked at Luss pier near the houses car was safe and easy launch for the kayaks as there's a beach and a cafe for sausage Square sandwich have fun mate and do some more kayak kids

Yeah i did the West Highland Way and a lot of my camps using a 35L pack.. main compartment only 28L So i got pretty light, much prefer it.

The first thing is you need is the right length of paddle for the width of the Kayak, I have the Decathlon Itiwit inflatable and used my existing paddle, I soon found it was a 'pain' as I was having to 'lean-in', into each right and left paddle, as it was too short. I had to order a longer paddle as the Decathlon Kayak is very wide. So make sure the paddle is the correct length for the width of the Kayak, so you are not having to 'sway' left and right.
Kayak needs a fin under to keep it steady and can steer more effectively. I had one before I got my paddle board.

That rain, I was in my Lanshan 1 one night last year and it got battered by rain like that for about 4 hours, not a drop got through but I wished I'd brought earplugs!
