Listening to these Havamal readings exposes me more to the pronunciation in ON, helps me understand a bit more about prefix and suffix use to change the meaning of words and keeps me interested in studying the language. At this early learner point, I get excited when I can read a word here or there or even figure out a phrase. These should be even more interesting when my vocabulary is bigger.

Yes. As Dr. Crawford has said in many videos, Old Norse was written in the younger Futhark. Elder Futhark was used to write Proto-Norse and other languages of earlier times.

Did Old Norse have a genitive absolute? Could that be what's going on in the first line of stanza 53?
Does "er vel mart vitu" also have a connection to the Swedish concept of "lagom"?
