I can't thank you enough for your video's. I lost my Dad last year and he was our repairman for everything. It seemed like everything was falling apart after he passed, I'm single so I had no one to call. I realized I was on my own and then I found your video's and it was like my Dad was here. You walked me through it just like he would have and it was fixed just like that! Thank you thank you thank you!! You are the man!
Thank you, I realize that your video is 4 years old but you should know it’s still helping people fix their lousy Frigidaire dishwashers. Very helpful 👍
Lousy lol you do know it's not lousy. It's your lack of dishwasher knowledge that causes issues right. A dishwash is not a dishwasher but as sanitizer. You cannot put greasy dishes in a dishwasher or dishes with food on them inside of a dishwasher or you always get this problem. You have to hand wash first and then put in the dishwasher.
Yup!! Last method worked for me, some sort of build up in that small pipe. So happy I came across this video and didn't have to pull the dishwasher out and take it all apart.
Thank you Jonah! That fixed my problem. I can hardly wait to tell my fiance when he comes home that I fixed the dishwasher. The look on his face is going to be priceless!
Perfect. My return hose to the garbage disposal was clogged. Unhooked, used a wire hanger, boom. I will eventually unhook and remove from the dishwasher and replace with a brand new when I get time. This was awesome Jonah.
Thank you so much for this. Im a single mom and have nobody to help me when stuff like this happens. Being able to handle home repairs myself makes me feel so good, independent, and saves me so much money!! I appreciate all the videos you post!
I don’t usually comment on videos but this worked. Great info too. Step 3 was a kinked hose from too much junk under the sink pushing on the hose. Almost bought a new unit! This saved $$$$ and solved the root of the problem. Also helped me get the filter installed again, for the life of me I could not get the 3 o clock and 6 o clock positions right until your video. Thank you!
Man thank you so much. My dishwasher had been out of action for almost a week. I’d watched dozens of these videos and did step 1 & 2 repeatedly. Even pulled the pump apart to clean that. I’d given up and called a professional. Your video popped up late night and I check the pipes - build up of sludge and now it’s working perfectly again! Thanks again!!
THANK YOUUU JONAH!!! I’m on maternity leave and have only been in my new home for 1 week when my dishwasher stopped draining. Hubby was at work, so I decided to give it a go. Thanks to your trial, error, & success video I got my dishwasher drained. Thanks again!!
Thank You So Much For Your Video. My dishwasher was not draining. It was hair. I was surprised to see that in there too. The steps to remove the items and screws was a life saver! I couldn't have fixed it without your video!

Thank you Sir for your life saving video. I tried the first two problem solving methods with no avail. I tried the 3rd one, and Lord and behold, the dishwasher air gap was clogged with 2 pieces of plastic fork and lots of ugly matter. Thank you for saving me a plumber's bill. Needless to say, I am a 67 years old grandma and I did it all by myself. I learned a lot from your video. I will pass on this information to all my single mothers.
You just saved me, my fiancée, and my future mother-in-law from buying a new dishwasher! Thank you for showing the whole process, including the failures! For us, it ended up being a clogged drain hose, but going through the other steps left us with a clean machine so I'm not complaining!
I worked all the three steps, through two afternoons, and finally hailed as you: "hallelujah!" I almost gave up because I didn't dig out too much solid waste in the tubes. But the magic happened as I finished the step 3. Really appreciated of your good nature and detailed instructions!
I forgot to say that I repeated step2 at least three times, which made me crazy and fatigued, before I made up my mind to unscrew the tubes that I was not confident.
This video was fantastic for a 73 year old woman who has NEVER in her entire life ever ever ever fixed anything! @@jonahvlogsdiy4143 Thanks again! I was wondering the same thing about all that non-food stuff in the filter and realized that washing the occasional dish sponge or scrubber in the dishwasher might be a source of lint and fiber. If that's the case, I'm glad the filter is catching some and not just dumping more plastics into the water supply. And thanks to you, it will be easier to check and clean this more often.
I watched several videos trying to figure out how to fix my dishwasher and failed with every one until I saw yours! My dishwasher is currently working perfectly and I'm so grateful!
This is the exact video that I have been looking for! I have been fighting with my dishwasher for months. It kept throwing a breaker, and I knew the pump was not working because I had standing water in it whenever I would open the door. I disassembled everything according to your steps and found it absolutely caked with calcium. Three bottles of vinegar and a box of baking soda solved the problem. I want to take everything out again and clean it more thoroughly, but I got it running again. Thanks for posting a "regular guy" video. There aren't many out there.
I read a lot of articles and watched a few videos and this is the one that worked for me. The third attempt was the answer. Just wanted to drop you a message to say thanks. The dishwasher wasn’t working on Christmas of all time and this saved it.
Well done! Thank you for including the "fails" as well in this final cut. Although they weren't the main issue, they're worth checking regularly to properly maintain our machines.
You are the man, the last one did the trick! I had cleaned the filter, did the baking soda, changed the drain pump! But it was just the drain hose valve at the end
Your video was the first one to pop up when I was looking for a problem solver for my dishwasher. I did the 3rd suggestion 1st and it completely worked! I have the same exact dishwasher but different year model so it looks exactly the same on the i side. Somehow a thick plastic straw from a cup had got clogged near the end of the drain line. Thanks for the vid. I was getting ready to claim my "broken" dishwasher to my homeowners insurance! You saved me money. Only cost me about 10 minutes of my day. So worth it. Thanks again for the very helpful video!
I really appreciate your video. This is my second time fixing my old dishwasher. The first trick works the first time, but not this time. I followed the third trick and that works great. It saves me at least 700 from buying a new dishwasher.
Age doesn't matter. I searched for quite a while and follow many (without success) until I found this one. I was clear and concise, and it worked. I am still marvelled that the internet can provide ALL solutions, sometimes you have to poke for a while. I watched the video completely first and then decided to go to all three solutions at the same time rather than have to reassemble and disassemble between attempts. Yup, hair too!
You have just helped me to remove an annoying problem and saved my health. The stuff I found when I took this apart was horrifying. Thank you so very much for this video.
THANK YOU!! I am a si hole mom with 3 kids and was so worried it was broken for good! You have no idea how much I appreciate you and your wife taking the time to show me this fix ❤️ God bless you both!
Thank you! As my husband and i tried each step, and failed, your optimism to keep going kept us going, and finally the third try worked! Wonderful narration!
Thank you! I fixed my problem using your first and second attempts. Luckily didn't have to move onto the pipe cleaning step. The fact that this video has 700k+ views means you are a great teacher and Frigidaire has some re-engineering to do.
Thank you! In case any of you have a problem locating the “switch” underneath your home, I recommend grabbing a flash light. I had a knob that said “pull to close” on it. I pulled it and that shut off the water line. Hope this helps someone down the road
I appreciate the showing of the fail attempts shows the key process to fixing things failing at fixing them during the process thank you man really helpful
I had almost the exact same dishwasher and couldn't figure out why it's not draining, turns out it's the exact same reason as yours, thank you so so much !!!
For me the 3rd attempt was what led me to figuring out my issue. Same as what was found here. I had a pistachio shell stuck in that drainage tube where it joined with the drain.
Thank you so much for your help! I'm a single mom and have been struggling with fixing my dishwasher for months. This video finally helped me get to the bottom of it. So excited to have properly cleaned dishes again! 💚
Great video man. I just want to personally say thank you. I tried the first 2 tricks before I looked at your video. When I tried the third one my dishwasher immediately started draining. So, thank you so much for saving me money, this veteran appreciates it
You probably saved us a lot of money. Like you, I tried all of the other options to no avail. After watching your video I asked my husband who had recently "installed" our new food processor if he had removed the plug. He, like a lot of us, failed to read the instructions so missed the step of 'knocking out the plug'. We removed the plug and viola, our dishwasher now drains. You are not only cute but also so helpful. Thank you, you deserve a large pat on the back.
Thank you for sharing this..My Dad and I went through the entire video step by step and we also finally fixed the problem with the last step!! And we are SO not handy people so thank you, your video was PERFECT!!! Plus I like that the first couple steps forced me to clean the dishwasher which I never knew how to do before! Feeling accomplished, thank you!
I know right . The previous owner didn’t tell me about the filter in the bottom of the dishwasher. I’ve never had a dishwasher like this before now I can take better care of it.
Thank you for the great video. I started where you ended and found my problem right away. I’m in a new apartment and haven’t had a garbage disposal in a really long time. My dishwasher drain hose is connected to the garbage disposal. So I ran hot water and the disposal about a minute. Voila! Thank you for all your attempts so I didn’t have to. 😉
Thank you so much!! I have a new dishwasher and I was really mad! I thought I had bought a lemon. I had watched other videos and did all they said but you were the only one that went through the whole process. It was the last step. The drain line going into my sink drain was clogged up. Thank you so much!! I am WOMAN!! Hear my ROAR 😂
Thank you so much. Me and mylady just recently moved and came to find all that mucky standing water. While the problem ended up being our disposal sending water down into the dishwasher. All your steps were very helpful!!
Thank you for this video! I took my dishwasher apart to clean in and I wasn't paying close enough attention to see exactly how it should go back together. Your descriptive explanation helped me get it reassembled. I appreciate your sharing this!
I'm going to add something to your troubleshooting process. My Frigidare was sporadic on draining. Sometimes it would drain it all, sometimes the whole bottom would have an inch, sometimes, just the center would have water. Sometimes the water was clean, sometimes still cloudy. So, I figured the drain pump was going bad. Ordered one from Amazon at 1/3 cost of OEM and replaced it. Worked great right out of the box. Next day, once again, water standing in the bottom. Kept researching and found someone suggesting to make sure the hose was clear where it entered the P-Trap. Took that hose loose, poked around with a screw driver, nothing there. Put it back together, sometimes worked, sometimes didn't. Today, took off P-trap and found debris in here. In fact, found a metal elbow fitting, like would be on the input side of the dishwasher. This had to have been there for 30 years! Removed it but wasn't satisfied that that was the issue. I am sure this was causing some issues with slow draining but couldn't be the whole problem. My dishwasher draining issue had really become a problem in the past 2 weeks. Went back to the drain connection at the dishwasher, removed the hose and this little black rubber piece fell out, all deformed. Started looking into this and discovered it is a back flow prevention flapper. Cost about $10 on Amazon. It's purpose is to what? Block water that is in the discharge hose from entering back into the dishwasher! I've got one on order, should be here in a couple of days, but I'm betting this makes my problem totally go away.
Wow that's great. I hope it did the trick. Thanks for sharing that with our viewers. The more we help each other the better for everyone. Thanks again.
Thanks for getting all the way to step three! Didn't realize when I installed a new garbage disposal there was a plug in the dishwasher drain receiver... Without your step three I would've been searching for Gremlins! Thanks so much!
Had already done method one and jumped to method 3. Found a lot of crud in the hose which got cleaned out. But it still didn't fix the problem. After the baking soda/vinegar mixture it finally cleaned everything out and it's back to draining. Thanks for the help and fun presentation!!
Wow! It’s a wonder.. The step by step detail you have here has helped us. Ours is similar like yours clogged outlet near the sink. We cleared in 3 trails.. don’t know how we would have managed this without people like you.. Thanks you so much!
Thanks to this video I fixed the dishwasher! I have never fixed much before, because my husband does it all. Your instructions were simple and easy to follow!
Just fixed my dishwasher clog after watching this video.. Thanks for putting this together in a fun, yet educational manner for us. You rock man, keep up the great work!

Thank you Mr. Jonah I had problems with my dishwasher draining I watched your video and I did all the steps that you did and my dishwasher is working properly again thank you so much for sharing it I really do want to call a plumber or dish washer repair man you saved me some money
This was informative and funny, my husband and I enjoyed your video, thanks for the tips. I appreciate the fails too, it makes us know you are human. It was good to have options.
HALLELUJAH! IT WORKED! I know EXACTLY how you feel! There's been countless times I felt that way at the end of a repair project, I hope to add another one as I attempt to fix this standing water problem in my dishwasher. Thanks bro.
Tossing in a healthy heaping of baking soda and clearing the line at the drain worked for me! Saved me a lot of headache. Thanks for the excellent video.
This was a great video - very clear, and the debugging aspects were great. I went through all of your steps (I have the exact same model) but alas, it did not work......AT FIRST. I too thought that the drain at the sink side was clogged but it was not. I wanted to move the dishwasher out but the prior owners had attached it to the granite countertop underside with a very rigid epoxy, so I would have needed to chisel that away to get to the drain hose end near the pump.....before I did that project, I went back to your baking soda and vinegar suggestion. I did that process (baking soda+water, then vinegar, then boiling water no less than 10 times.....probably used 1.5 - 2 kg baking soda (4 small 500 g boxes) and 3-4 litres pickling vinegar....BUT after that.....it drained! So there *can* be blockages at other areas, and the vinegar+baking soda will work, but you may need to do it a number of times (like I said, for me it was at least 10 times). Thanks again for the informative and, more importantly, useful video! Showing the failures is as important as showing the success. Please do keep it up!
I tried step 3 first and found half a pistachio shell and it fixed my issue. After that I was able to clean the filter without siphoning. Thank you very much for saving me the trouble!
Hi Jonah! Thank you so much. I watched your video months ago when our dishwasher broke. I wanted to try everything before replacing it but had to replace it anyway due to motor. I learned all about keeping these areas clean by your video... so I just took apart our new dishwasher after a few months of use and there was debris in all those areas. No idea how this happens since I rinse before putting the dishes and items in. Thank you for this video. I feel so good that I cleaned it myself! It will be routine now. God bless you and those you love! Peace, Lynne 🍃🧡🍃

Thank you, I realize that your video is 4 years old but you should know it’s still helping people fix their lousy Frigidaire dishwashers. Very helpful 👍
Yes it seems like there is still the same problem with their dishwasher like mine. Thanks for watching.

So glad I did all the tricks.
The third method fixed my machine too! Thank you!!! Now I don't have to call a repair man!
Excellent! Thanks for the visit & stay safe.
Mr. Rodgers fixes the dishwasher. Great simple explanation, I wish all these self-help videos were like this.
Thanks. Simple is the best.
So glad you found my video & it helped. Thank you for watching.
Didn’t find dirt or slush anywhere but after following all suggestions we are back to a working dishwasher! Thank you!!
Im glad it worked out for you.
So elated I could cry! My dishwasher was fixed by me, no repair person. Thanks for the detailed video.
You're very welcome! Thank you for the visit.
This video just saved me from having to call a repairman. Thank you so much for making such an easy-to-follow video!
Glad it helped. Thanks for the visit & stay safe.
Thank you Sir! Option three did the trick. Saved us some bucks! Thanks again!
5 years later and your video still showing us how to great job ! 👍
Yeah I guess there's still a lot of drain issues with these dishwashers. lol
@jonahvlogsdiy4143 they really do mine just like that
I have used this video 3 times now to aid me in cleaning out our dishwasher. It is SO helpful! Thank you for how thorough you are!
You are so welcome! Super glad it still worked out for you. Third time is still a charm.
You have just helped me to remove an annoying problem and saved my health. The stuff I found when I took this apart was horrifying. Thank you so very much for this video.
You are very welcome. And thank you for watching.
Your the best man. Helped me from spending minimum of 200 for a service call. That last attempt was what sealed the deal for me
Awesome! So glad my video helped. Thanks for the visit.
THANK YOU!! I am a si hole mom with 3 kids and was so worried it was broken for good! You have no idea how much I appreciate you and your wife taking the time to show me this fix ❤️ God bless you both!
You are so welcome Rosemarie. Glad my video helped out. Thanks for watching.
Thank you! As my husband and i tried each step, and failed, your optimism to keep going kept us going, and finally the third try worked! Wonderful narration!
Glad you were able to get it working!
Thank you! I fixed my problem using your first and second attempts. Luckily didn't have to move onto the pipe cleaning step. The fact that this video has 700k+ views means you are a great teacher and Frigidaire has some re-engineering to do.
Great job! Thanks for the compliment.
Thank you! Just helped my gf fix her clogged dishwasher and I'm now the man of the house again lol
Lol. Glad I could help!
Thank you!
In case any of you have a problem locating the “switch” underneath your home, I recommend grabbing a flash light. I had a knob that said “pull to close” on it. I pulled it and that shut off the water line. Hope this helps someone down the road
Thanks for sharing. This may help out our viewers.
I appreciate the showing of the fail attempts shows the key process to fixing things failing at fixing them during the process thank you man really helpful
So glad my video helped. Thanks for watching!
This was an EXCELLENT WALKTHROUGH and deserves more attention
Thank you and thanks for the visit. Stay safe.
I had almost the exact same dishwasher and couldn't figure out why it's not draining, turns out it's the exact same reason as yours, thank you so so much !!!
Glad I could help! Thanks for watching Kaze
Thank you! Thank you! Fixed mine! Was in same progression as you went through and I was stranded. Third thing you tried fixed mine. Much appreciated!
Fantastic! So glad my video helped.
OMG Thank You so much!! This saved us calling the plumber, which we can't afford these days. 🙌
No worries! Glad my video helped.
Great video man... love the honesty! Showing the 3 failed attempts & not just the success? I'm a fan!
Thanks CW. Hope my video helped.
😂😂😂
For me the 3rd attempt was what led me to figuring out my issue. Same as what was found here. I had a pistachio shell stuck in that drainage tube where it joined with the drain.
@@zatarregaza Pistachio shell was my problem too. hahaha
Very good. Think I'll start with the drain tube first. Very helpful information. It wouldn't hurt to clean the dishwasher either.
Thank you so much for your help! I'm a single mom and have been struggling with fixing my dishwasher for months. This video finally helped me get to the bottom of it. So excited to have properly cleaned dishes again! 💚
@@carissatawney9854 awesome! So glad my video helped
Great video. Shows you how a typical DIY video should be done…by illustrating the 2 failures prior to finally identifying the issue.
Thank you so much Ron. And thanks for the visit.
I very much appreciated that you had to do three different fixes to get the problem solved. Thanks for showing the whole process!
Glad it helped. Thank you for the visit.
Great video man. I just want to personally say thank you. I tried the first 2 tricks before I looked at your video. When I tried the third one my dishwasher immediately started draining. So, thank you so much for saving me money, this veteran appreciates it
So glad my video helped. You're very welcome.
Thank you and thanks for sharing your story.
So glad my video helped. You're welcome.
Glad it helped! Great it worked out for you and thanks for the visit.
3rd solution was my issue and I watched the entire video before doing anything saved me the first 2 steps of troubleshooting. Thank you
Glad it helped. Thanks for watching.
You just saved me the price of a repairman. Thank you from North Carolina
You're very welcome, Thank you for the visit.
Glad it worked Monica.Thank you for sharing your success with our UA-cam viewers.
No Problem, Glad my video helped.
Your voice is so relaxing and reassuring! I haven’t even fixed my dishwasher yet and I already feel better about it 😂 thank you!!
Thank you. And I hope it works out for you.
Yes, followed your third step and cleaned out a gunk clogging the pipe into the disposal. Thank you!
So Glad it helped! thanks for the visit.
Thanks for getting all the way to step three! Didn't realize when I installed a new garbage disposal there was a plug in the dishwasher drain receiver... Without your step three I would've been searching for Gremlins! Thanks so much!
So glad it worked out. You're welcome.
Mine too! I was wondering if anyone else discovered that from step three!
Thanks so much! My husband. Works way to much so I tried to fix it. Step one fixed it! Thanks so much your amazing!
Fantastic! So glad it worked for you.
Had already done method one and jumped to method 3. Found a lot of crud in the hose which got cleaned out. But it still didn't fix the problem. After the baking soda/vinegar mixture it finally cleaned everything out and it's back to draining. Thanks for the help and fun presentation!!
Good stuff. Im glad if finally worked. Thanks for sharing with our viewers.
Wow! It’s a wonder.. The step by step detail you have here has helped us. Ours is similar like yours clogged outlet near the sink. We cleared in 3 trails.. don’t know how we would have managed this without people like you..
Thanks you so much!
You're welcome! Glad it was helpful.
I like how you showed your unsuccessful attempts! Great problem solving.
Thank you. Hope my video helped out.
Thanks to this video I fixed the dishwasher! I have never fixed much before, because my husband does it all. Your instructions were simple and easy to follow!
Awesome. Glad I could help!
Just fixed my dishwasher clog after watching this video.. Thanks for putting this together in a fun, yet educational manner for us. You rock man, keep up the great work!
Great job! Thanks for the visit & stay safe.
Thank you so much for this video. My apartment’s dishwasher has been broken for months, I’ve never thought I could do this. But your instructions were so helpful, and though my model is a little different, every step was practically the same
Awesome! So glad my video helped.
This was so easy to follow! Fixed our problem without having to call someone. Thank you so much!
Awesome! Glad my video helped Christina.
I just used this video to fix mine , thanks a lot and I appreciate it
Thank you Mr. Jonah I had problems with my dishwasher draining I watched your video and I did all the steps that you did and my dishwasher is working properly again thank you so much for sharing it I really do want to call a plumber or dish washer repair man you saved me some money
Awesome! Always feels good to save money. You're welcome.
Dude you are a life saver . Cleaned it out . Took apart the computer part cleaned it now working like a charm
No problem. Glad my video helped bro.
This was informative and funny, my husband and I enjoyed your video, thanks for the tips. I appreciate the fails too, it makes us know you are human. It was good to have options.
Thank you for watching. Glad you enjoyed it!
Thank you for this video!!! Thanks to you, I got to impress my wife and get it right the first time. My problem was in the exact same spot as yours!
Excellent! So glad my video helped.
HALLELUJAH! IT WORKED! I know EXACTLY how you feel! There's been countless times I felt that way at the end of a repair project, I hope to add another one as I attempt to fix this standing water problem in my dishwasher.
Thanks bro.
Excellent! Glad I could help.
You nailed the EXACT problem that I was having. Here I go with the fix - THANK YOU!
Glad I could help Eric.
Tossing in a healthy heaping of baking soda and clearing the line at the drain worked for me! Saved me a lot of headache. Thanks for the excellent video.
You're very welcome. Glad my video was able to help.
Super glad it finally worked. Thanks for the visit.
I tried step 3 first and found half a pistachio shell and it fixed my issue. After that I was able to clean the filter without siphoning. Thank you very much for saving me the trouble!
Nice work! Glad my video helped.
Thank you Lynne. So glad my video helped. God Bless.
@@jonahvlogsdiy4143 Hi JONAH! What a nice surprise to hear from you. I shared this video with one of my friends last night. She was so happy. It may seem simple to you but it's very important to those of us who have no knowledge on appliances. I am thankful. I am a teacher, a homeschooling Mom, I own a craft and jewelry business, I am a private tutor for children in academics, and I own a dance business. I teach all ages and all abilities to dance! I also have a food pantry and a ministry with my brother. We became a church last year after 6 years. I'm very busy... so learning things on UA-cam helps me and my family.
I enjoy learning! Thanks again for the free advice... I asked God to bless you and those you love.
Peace, Lynne 🍃🧡🍃
I did it ! Thank you so much . Saved me 300 bucks . I thought it was a goner ! I did both the technics you suggested . I will take better care of my dishwasher now. I sure know more about how it works . It was a plug in the drain connector under the sink. But I’ll keep doing the vinegar to keep it cleaner. Thanks again.
So glad it worked out for you. You're welcome.
