I like this strategy. I lured Yurgir out to the initial staircase - by the elevator to Shadowfell - and just bombarded him with grenades and spears on my Barb. I did utilize Gale's sleet storm to keep him prone, so not quite solo but still utilizing the LoS advantages against AI. I really enjoyed building Karlach as a spear-chucker, but have since moved on to other incredibly fun builds. BG3 is a gift that keeps on giving!
That's dope! Yea BG3 has a ton of fun builds for sure. I'm sure with updates and changes we'll get a bunch of different options as well. I have a good handful of alternate builds that I'm going to end up tossing up sometime soon. What builds are you enjoying atm? I wish Karlach's infernal fury worked with throwing would have been insane
There's some absolutely cracked combinations; the most hilarious among them, arguably, is having a druid like Halsin go Owlbear (wild shape with greatest weight) while Gale enlarges him. Then just throw him around with Gale's telekinesis and do 2-4 THOUSAND damage each turn.@@dakquan
@@zasterheffor I saw a clip of that recently lmao. I tried out Eagle Heart Barb again to see if they got the fall damage from the jump but didn't go through. I wanted to make a wrestler vid lol
why did none of his guys attack you or come after you? That fight was a nightmare for me on my first run.. i ended up using a path bug so i only got the 2 cat things and the main guy..
Probably due to getting the surprised effect on them partially due to being invisible then popping up. I messed with the fight and it's opens a few times and was typically first and was able to avoid the bomb spam thankfully. It's definitely one of the harder fights for the Act
I actually didn't even think to try that out. When I get back I can see if it's possible to throw them which probably is the case. I'll send through another comment. I should have a save from earlier. For whatever reason if I fought in the open on that first turn they would all throw consumables that would do a good amount of damage so found wrapping around the corner is a way to not have to deal with that
the bombs when i picked them up and threw them to aoe the targets for some reason didn't end up hitting multiple people so that could just be a bug on my end. Was getting slammed by bombs during the turn for around 10 to 20 under resistance. We should be able to out damage the bombs if they aren't aoeing with the throws
@@dakquan interesting, I did a couple of times and could trigger lots of explosions, but maybe I just got lucky with their position. It was a few days ago so I didn't remember how much dmg they were doing, so was a bit curious if it would be better than normal throw xD. Love your build though, had a lot of sucess playing it in act 3
@@MrBaumgratz I love some good ol explosions lol. I'll end up running into the fight again and give it another try eventually. Game is wonky at times and I would imagine the bombs are supposed to work the way they did for you and not how mine just decided they didn't want to deal aoe damage lmao. Glad the build is working well up in Act 3! I have some more testing to do for the min maxed version. Want it to be as close to optimized as possible just to see what we can do number and fun wise
can just put on fire resistance helmet and get the same result. Warding bond does not matter in this case. If you need some help trying to solo let me know
hit him with the classic slander and it actually worked lol. I didn't have enough charisma on this character to hit the 21 charisma check without getting the nat 20s lol. It's a 1200 exp difference but the game caps out exp anyway so long run doesn't matter for sure
