It's cool how you don't take yourself too seriously but are one of the most analytical and thorough and articulate people I've found giving solid guidance on these subjects.

Just found your channel and I'm really enjoying your style and approach. I've had a lot of different "stops" on my own style journey (especially since it's come during the pandemic!) - but right now, my best guess is that I'm a Kibbe Soft Gamine, soft summer coloring, with a classic-ingenue (and maybe a touch of romantic?) essence. I'm still working on my style map (great idea, btw), and my preliminary words are smart, sophisticated/refined, and mysterious/mystic/magical :)
Just found your channel yesterday and was inspired as soon as I woke up this morning to clean ALL of my clothes so I had a full closet. My style has always felt disjointed and copycat-ish so I'm excited to start this journey!

I fell in love more and more with the way she edits her videos. It brightens up my day 😂😂❤❤❤. All of this is very helpful . Interesting how I came to revisit her videos and since I progressed a lot, I found new information that I didn't get in the past .
Glad I found you! Personal style changes as we age and life changes, sometimes dramatically. I am trying to find my post-corporate inner hippie but keep it classy style. For most of us, our bodies change with age - what we used to like we no longer like, and what we used to not want to show off is now the area to highlight. I have cleavage now! My legs are still good, but bare legs are a definite not-ever-again-not-even-at-the-beach. Personal style is a process, an evolution.
Kibbe type: romantic Essences: ingenue, Natural, romantic Adjectives: encouraging, witty/hilarious, and playful Style motto: authenticity and beauty Style inspiration: 90s anime (sailor moon), Gilmore girls, vintage romantic dresses/clothes. Color: Deep Autumn I am a teacher so I think that helps with being comfortable and the playfulness I have (I am that way on the weekends too) How do you recommend getting fashion inspired by cartoons/tv and translating well to a person? For example, I’ve had a French fry purse that I loved because it was cute but everyone agreed that it did not match any of my outfits. How do I include playfulness while still looking put together and keeping that “romantic and pretty look?” Maybe it can be color?
Thank you for your wonderful commentary. I (an amateur) actually have a site where I tackle some of this, but I love how concise you are. I often think that what we are really shooting for is "the package"--(you use that term, too!)--and we get lost in the details. We don't know where we want to go...and we shoot for the fantasy (which is really a photoshoot) and not our lifestyle. It took me a very long time to understand this, and if I'd had a mentor like you it would have taken a MUCH shorter time. I was torn between creative dressing (labor intensive) and the capsule wardrobe (most of the examples don't really cover my lifestyle). I asked John Kitchener one time what he thought of the capsule wardrobe idea and he indicated it wasn't really where he was going--that he wanted women to dress more creatively. I thought about it a long time, and I don't have time to dress *ahem* "creatively" all the time. So what I have done is to apply creative thought to the "package" and I choose everyday capsule pieces that support that package. The "package" is based on my silhouette lines and colors. Then I add the creative parts in accessories and details, which I can often change out quickly (since I'm a mood dresser). For those who aren't sure what "package" they are shooting for, I recommend getting a copy of "Style Statement" if you can still find it. It gives you and 80% word to hold in mind as your base, and a 20% word to hold in mind for your creative edge (so you don't get bored with your base). It was a godsend for me, and I plan on actually reducing my wardrobe to only things I really, really, really LOVE and thus simplifying my life. Everyone's outcome will be different and original!

I’ve been binge watching your videos this past week and I love your approach to style and finding it! Id: Romantic Essence: natural, classic, romantic, & gamine (not particularly sure about this one but I wear a lot of colors) Adjectives: effortless, put together, feminine, timeless, 90s, minimal, clean, & elegant. Color season: deep winter I have been taking outfit pictures for about 8 months now and I’ve decided to take action with my style because even though the elements are there, I don’t like where it is at the moment. One big issue is that I don’t have clothes for different occasions. I can basically wear the same outfits to every event/ outing in my life, including work. I want to work on this because it has become an issue. I tend to have “I don’t have anything to wear” moments when It comes to events and dates. About to graduate and start working in a business casual setting. I like to dress modestly. Anything mini makes me uncomfortable and I don’t really know how to dress for my upper body since I am heavy chested. This leads to wearing a lot of “bulky” items that weigh me down.

your channel has instantly become one of my favorites!! i love this. its such a journey finding and maintaining some sense of style through all of lifes changes. ive totally lost my identity after becoming a mom and am excited to rediscover how to present myself to the world. here are my types, looking forward to seeing some real life examples in your next video! kibbe type - dramatic essences - classic, natural season.- dark autumn lifestyle - homesteading mom of two youngins (i dont get to wear fancy dresses and nice shoes often) style/vibe - i feel confident in sleek but comfortable clothing like high waisted jeans with tight tucked in tops, or band tshirts, minimal jewelry, and cute but functional shoes like chelsea boots or vans. for fancier looks im inspired by vintage, nature, forests, hobbits, boho, but i cannot pull off loose flowy anything.
I use the trick which I stole from the old-time actress (she did it in the movie). She casually flipped through a magazine, and covered the faces of the models with the back of her palm (probably to imagine herself in their place). This trick helped me to find great outfits for myself. It's still my favorite way to maintain my style.
Thank you for your super helpful videos. I have learnt so much from you. With what you said at the end of the video, i have a few things needs to be solved, hope you can help. I’d like to have some low effort flattering everyday outfits. Fitted basics with open necklines have been working great so far but still on the hunt for more :)

Hey Gabi! Thank you so so much Gabrielle. You have opened my eyes and I am slowly learning more about my personal style. You really are giving me strength through style. Thank you for that. I love the work that you have done on yt. ❤
Gaby this was so thought thru and deep, I love it! I had to pause several times to think and process😂🤓🤓🤗❤️ I loved loved loved your practical example with Jane, would love to see more of that! Me: kibbe R (or some rounded type) style essence: no idea Personal style: friendly, put-together but not classic Color: medium, soft warmish, warm but closer to neutral Style factors: I don’t know if it’s double curve or what, but I feel like I look very broad, like a guitar 😂 and I haven’t figured out how to dress for that (since it includes a bigger bust and behind aswell). people comment on my thin waist but it’s thin when seen in profile, not that much ”sinched in” when you look from the front. I feel constricted in stiff fabrics. Thank you Gaby🤗🤗😍
I'm so glad it helped! And thank you for your parameters, I'll include it in the example video and I'll try to workshop some ideas for styling your double curve/waist 🥰
Hiya.A new viewer/subscriber. The first video of yours blew my mind with the sheer amount of knowledge you have and research you have done. I had no idea fashion was a science! I had already discovered Kibbe, and know that I am cool and muted ( Olive) ( possibly dark winter but it was the video on dramatic essence , followed by ingénue ( of which I had no clue what it meant before watching your video on it). So I am romantic plus dramatic with maybe a hint of ingenue? I love your last point and fully agree. It's impossible to get the style right without making mistakes.
Well this is so old but in case you’re making a new list for anything… My issue is that I have two distinct styles both of which I love. One is classic, dramatic, natural the other is classic, romantic, ethereal. Mostly, I’m trying to transition out my more gamine and casual clothes from my 20s and embrace my femininity in a way that I’m still respected as an up and coming leader in the environmental science and corporate environments that I work in but in my own time I write poetry, listen to jazz, and make art. Kibbie: dramatic classic I’m a bit clueless about Kitchener. I have a very square jaw, wide face, thin lips, and high cheekbones but really full round cheeks, long forehead, almond average space eyes, and a fleshy bum chin that rounds out my jaw. I’m also 5’8 and grew up as a dancer so am long and lean but in my 30s have started to gain a more womanly shape. Vibe inspo: Monica Vitti (Italy cinema in the 1960s), vintage Chloe dresses, and the French existentialist philosophers
Another great video! Here are my descriptions: Kibbe DC, Ethereal-Dramatic-Natural-Classic essences (25% each, according Truth is Beauty system calculator), best colors are dark and muted, study and work in rather informal environments. Some items of my board, quite tricky to define the vibe succintly 😁 An Amazonian Shaman, a self-portrait of Artemisia Gentileschi playing lute, Samothrace Victory, Ellaria Sand from GoT, Pat Cleveland in a glam flowy dress, a nautilus with lines demonstrating its mathematical proportions, a work from M. C. Escher. My adjectives: powerful, intriguing, graceful
really enjoying your channel so far! excited to see what other ideas you have about fashion. I am very drawn to the way you think about self discovery. I am drawn to the methods you talk about a lot since they help me in other aspects of my life. I enjoy catagorization, exploration, moodboards, keeping data/journaling so I really vibe with you
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you've liked this methodology. You should try the personal style mapping- you might like the visual representation of your style 🥰
This is so exciting! Thank you Gabrielle and everyone who has commented! This is helping me tie everything together. To answer your questions, I'm a happy anomaly. You can use this if it's helpful. I have very Ethereal essence - and my body type is much closer to Kitchener's Ethereal / Angelic type than anything from Kibbe. In Kibbe terms, my nearest match is Classic / Dramatic Classic, albeit slightly scaled down as I'm 5'3''. I have a long, narrow shape and people don't usually realise I'm petite. My vibe would be my connections to the sea (primarily), sky and meadow. For colour seasons, I'm in between too: I have cool, pale skin and dark brown eyes, which suggests Winter; but my hair is mid-brown with natural highlights - more Summer?? - and is long and wavy. So, I wear lots of bluey greens, tonal looks, clean lines with a bit of flow... Also silver earrings shaped like seals and sea horses. My lifestyle is mainly about music (singing, songwriting, teaching from home), and time outside (sea swimming, dog walks, cat cuddles, gardening). My ethics are very much towards slow fashion, and in general, to take what I need, no more, no less. I wear almost all cotton and linen (ethics and perimenopausal hot flushes), including cotton velvet and cotton knitwear. Lots of layers for our unpredictable climate (England). No animal products, and no heels due to health issues and preferences.
@@Gabriellearrudadesign I'm sure it's a bit too much, but you are one of the people who has helped me to compile this and to have a little more confidence. Thank you!
1. Colorful tie dye cotton midi dress 2. I want feel like myself and show myself 3. Intriguing, approachable, and pretty 4. I feel like bla and stay at home in my pajamas and don’t apply myself. VS. I feel creative and inhabit myself fully and shine and expand. 5. Habit stacking…not sure. Maybe I should start with the photo thing. 6. I work from home so it’s not “worth it” to apply personal style. This is wrong because it will make me feel better every day and I’m worth it ❤ 7. Creative comfy pretty (work in progress) 8. Monthly style check: I’ve tried interesting outfits probably 2 times a week this month and otherwise worn loungewear. When I don’t get dressed i feel in a rut and on autopilot. 9. I’ve spent years trying Kibbe. I came to like TIB more. Right now i might want to focus on Rita 4 essences. 10. Im scared of getting catcalled because that’s a big issue where I live and it can be kind of discouraging :( but I will try to take your permission to f that 😁
This sounds great! Im sorry about the catcalling, always put yourself first if you don’t feel comfortable in a situation. You can also invest in more loungewear that speaks to your style. I also work from home and my “wfh” loungewear feels more put together and my vibe than my workout sweats or actual sleepwear. It helps me merge personal style and lifestyle
I really have been loving your channel. I have felt that my style goals have changed over the years - do you think this happens? Or do you think I was in a weird “fantasy version of myself”? I think a video about not dressing for the fantasy version of you (unrealistic goals, etc) would be helpful. Also! I am 7 months pregnant, and it is a strange time to think about style - it’s very hard to buy new clothes and also I’m not sure how tiring early motherhood will be. That would be a cool video as well. :-) Also, the three word adjective was really transformative for me. Mine were “competent, smart, and flirtatious/humorous.” I never would have thought flirtatious and competent go together, but they kind of do. Like Elizabeth Bennet/Eloise from Bridgerton affect. Really great content!

Just found your channel recently, and I'm loving your videos! Kibbe: Soft Natural Essence: Gamine (I think) Season: Clear Spring I've just started working on a personal style map, but so far it's leaning dark, esoteric, and rustic. For lifestyle, I'm studying environmental law but used to do all outdoor environmental fieldwork and I live in a cabin, so I'm trying to put together a wardrobe that feels like me both out in nature (where I feel most like me) and in a formal, conventional setting.
Thank you, I can relate to the comment about being outside a lot but also needing to be more formal or conventional sometimes. You sound like a very interesting person, so I guess it's about how to convey that in a less free setting. For me, the connection is to the sea, so I can send a message through colour choices (cool green, blue, teal, silver...) I also have some small, discreet jewellery which has a sea theme (e.g. a silver starfish necklace from my stepmum) but isn't overt. I don't know if any of that makes sense or might have a parallel for you.
@@AlexLouiseWest Thank you! Yeah, it does make sense. And love the sea connection. I probably tend toward the forest myself. I'll keep that in mind as I'm working through this :)

I've been binge watching your videos and it' so helpful! i am Kibbe: Theatrical Romantic Essence: Classic (with Romantic and Ingenue) Style: minimal, simple, basic, relaxed but still sophisticated? sometimes grungy. Mostly mono tones or earthy tones. Color: somewhere in Autumn I'm Korean and also work as a teacher so most of romantic style recommendation wouldn't really work for me to wear daily. Or even on special events. I don't like revealing cloths especially on cleavage area, though I know they say it's better to wear something very fit and has a deeper neckline for my body type. And I don't want people to think that I'm trying too hard with my fashion to look good. Not attracting their eyes with my clothes but with my overall vibe. Chill & Cool, I guess? Don't want to be 'pretty' but elegant and sophisticated. And I want my wardrobe to be a capsule, minimal one that I can mix and match most of cloths any kind of way.
Kibbe ID: soft dramatic Style Essence: Romantic (some ingenue too) Seasonal Colour: Light Spring Vibe: Aphrodite reborn for modern day Factors: Work in healthcare so modest options are needed but can be very colourful and fun. Otherwise fairly free reign
Loved this video and love your spin on things! Genuinely the most helpful and approachable take. Thank you. I really loved the tip about comparing outfit pics as I too have been a fiend for gamine lines. Though I can pull some SG looks off, it really doesn't take much to tip a look into cosplay! Kibbe: theatrical romantic Essence: dramatic-ethereal Season: warm spring Personal style board: I was really drawn to divas like Marilyn Monroe, Cher, Faye Wong in style moments where they look confident, chic, and glam. I've also got pics of shimmering, sheer fabrics, an Iris Van Herpen dress, a screenshot from the 5th element, and a pearly anemone. Vibe of personal style maps: futuristic, sexy, whimsical, glamorous, fierce, elegant, colorful (yep, bit all over the place). Adjectives: professional (creative, confident, refined). Personal life (sensual, avant-garde, chic). Personal style goals: I want to create outfits that don't hinder my extraness but are still appropriate for the everyday realities of city life, nannying, and working in a trendy bookshop. I feel like the vibes of my kibbe and essence are a bit at odds with my season, and this (and the grip of 2010s tumblr) keeps tipping me into gamine looks that don't bring out my best features.
@@Gabriellearrudadesign yaaay! Whether or not you include this - really looking forward to seeing the examples. They’re super helpful and I so appreciate you doing this work 🌟💖
i have started my personal style journey and went from a girl who only wore oversized to a pretty bold lady :D but i have to say i dont like that i get treated differently in better clothes. i seem to look less approachable or more intimidating. where i live people think ppl who put in effort are shallow or arrogant or rich (which is considered as something bad). Sometimes i also get oversexualized, so i actually have to say i mostly dress up at home and down for the outside world. i love my style but my world is not ready for it (yet) :D
It's a journey, and a process of finding balances. I'm glad you feel at home in your style, and I hope you find a place that you can wear what you want and not feel oversexualized. And if people think dressing up is shallow/arrogant/rich, it's hard to not let others impact you but slowly don't let them make you feel judged. We wouldn't judge someone who makes their home appear presentable (mowing the law, painting the fence, putting out flowers), and I say the same goes for our personal style.
@@Gabriellearrudadesign yes you are right :) i sometimes feel that in some niches of feminism it's an unspoken rule that you should wanna look less feminine, natural, andogynous. but i have to say that is some toxic bs right there. we should be more tolerant and inclusive to fight for the rights of every human and every woman and stop this internalized misogyny.
Okay, I’ve watched till the end, so: kibbe: natural/fn, essence: still trying to figure it out😳 adj: effortless, interesting, refined, seasonal color: soft summer PS. This was very helpful🙂 photo challenge accepted!
I’m a flamboyant gamine / natural essence / vibes are earthy, playful, queer, witchy / I think my season is autumn but it could also be winter (during winter months)(dark hair, dark eyes, olive undertone, warm tan in summer but pale in winter) / lifestyle factors include being outdoors (in a large variety of environments that require technical clothes and gear), a grad student and researcher, ethical and sustainable, and dressing to express myself, feel happy and colourful, and comfortable! I struggle with wanting to be a minimalist in my wardrobe but a maximalist in expression (usually with a statement piece)
I am a total MESS... kibbe type: flamboyant gamine essence: dramatic/romantic/gamine/Flamboyant natural personal style: sexy, unique, playful, silly, mystical (I am a Scorpio sun with Gemini rising) season: warm spring (I think...I look great in shiny jewel tones and need bright colors) Lifestyle: I am turning 40 in 6 months and have NEVER been able to pin down my personal style but I have sure tried! I work in an office for a manufacturing facility so its very business casual (boring) and spend a lot of time taking care of my disabled mother, walking my dog, stuff that requires movement. I grew up loving glamor and old movies and wanting to try the pinup/ dita von tease look but never had the money or moxie to go for it. Plus it have NEVER suited my rough outdoorsy lifestyle. Within the other side of my personality lies a Stevie Nicks hippie witch kinda thing (in high school I used to read palms on my lunch break so there's that) Now I'm about to be 40 and I feel like I should just give up and be this dumpy sad chick who schleps around in baggy jeans and tees being sad. :( your channel and the WONDERFUL structure you put into it has been like a little glimmer of hope for me. (the structure appeals to my Capricorn moon hehe)
I’ll add this to my list! I’m sure we can find a way to workshop you not feeling great about your personal style. Sometimes it just takes a little outside perspective to see how the puzzle pieces fit together. I’m glad the videos have helped and I’ll put this on my list for the example video 👍🏻👍🏻
And by the way here are my style parameters! Kibbe ID: soft natural (petite) Style essence: natural/ethereal Seasonal colour: deep autumn/winter (I’m suspecting more of deep autumn) - personal style adjectives: relaxed/cozy (think soft knitted sweaters instead of sweatshirts/joggers), chic, warm/approachable (=not tough/grungy but not overly girly/romantic too) - style board: drive.google.com/drive/folders/12P2m_j1DPkhoqDWPod5hl0sjEdZYsLlP - lifestyle: i have to survive the year-long tropical heat! I really love the look of layering but it’s so hard to find inspiring summer looks even on pinterest when most of it is just tshirts and denim shorts (I’m a weird one here too.. I really don’t like the look of denim so I don’t own any jeans either 😅), i prefer to dress a bit more modestly just because I feel more polished and more importantly feel more comfortable in these kinds of outfits too :) and I’m a uni student! :)
Kibbe : Soft Gamine Essence: Ethereal Personal style: Minimalist Dark Boho Vibe: Carefree, relaxed, lonesome, modest Season: Warm or Deep Autumn Lifestyle: Working at home in tech or strolling on the beach
Flamboyant Natural Natural / Dramatic 70's (Halston Drapes/Velvet Suits) + Minimal Desert Mystic (Jodorowsky Vibes) + Baroque (couture-like beaded/embroidered jewel tones/gold) + introvert / serious / creative Autumn architect and artist - need to attend office job during the day and gallery openings/exhibits at night. Unrestrictive painting clothes that inspire but can get messy in the studio.
Thanks, I really find it depends on the item. I work with my seasonal color palette over any one particular store. This dress I got from a random store in NYC ( i think it was meant to be a skims look-a-like but the color is much better for me than any of the skims options which lean warm). I identify as a true summer. Have you determined your season yet? That can really help over specific stores (since stores carry wide ranges)
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Thanks so much for answering! I’m a summer but still unsure about which one. There’s been some confusion bc of my strawberry blonde hair color. I’m also a NYer, trying to break the black for every occasion habit. Gun metal gray, dark gray and most blues work for me. Thanks again!
My kibbe is theatrical romantic, I think my essences is Ethereal-Romantic (maybe a bit of ingenue), think Birth of Venus, nature inspiriation, vivid colors, florals, pearls, fairy queen vibes, embroidery, art nouveau, dash of 30's-40's movie star/pinup. joyful, generous, bright. I am a warm spring (pale redhead) I like to protect my pale skin from the sun for summer wear, and I'm most comfortable in natural fibers.
Oof, I'm still learning! I use premier pro and after effects. For the more complicated ones sometimes I use templates or hodge podge things together. I recently got an online course on after effects, so hopefully I can improve those skills a bit for you guys

Kibbe type: pure dramatic Essence: natural with some ethereal, classic or romantic? Unsure tbh Personal style: witchy 90s wanna be phoebe buffay, casual preppy with a smidge of fairy grunge and cyber y2k. I love flowy skirts, chunky shoes and cute pendants. Clothes with no definition at the waist or too tight at the hips are a no go. Season: unsure. Ik I look terrible in bright red and blue with cool undertones. Lifestyle: waitress so there's not much room for expression. Just black tshirts and jeans
Kibbe: Romantic Kitchener Essences: Not sure but there's a bunch of ingenue in here and I'm not a fan of that at all Colors: Soft Summer Lifestyle: work from home with an extremely flexible schedule, but I share my home with my partner, who also WFH as a babysitter for some local children Style Goals: to achieve a sort of early-70s genderfucky androgyny a la Led Zeppelin, blended with a style best described as "retired mafioso on vacation in Vegas or Malibu in 1968" Other notes: I'm obsessed with the X-Men comics of the late 60s and in the current era (2019-present) and the concept of a tropical utopia for freaks (/affectionate) where we can reassess what it means to be part of a community, and most of my t-shirts have designs by my favorite X-Men fanartist, Valentine M Smith, on them. I would describe most of my current clothes as relaxed, primarily either graphic tees or solid tank tops tucked into jeans, but theres definitely pops of drama (fingerless studded leather driving gloves) and ethereal/romantic (pale cashmere wrap, wine-red flowing velvet open robe) stuff in there, too.
I embrace my nerdiness! Actually my sun is in sagittarius, and I have a ton of sagittarius in my other placements. I've gotten the vibe that's not the best 🙃
I am a daily vintage dresser and am wondering if I can still do these steps? Since I dress almost exclusively in vintage (as well as modern retro designs) I feel slightly constrained, as my style evolution has been towards vintage vibes. Thx for this vid and your channel! 🙏

I found out my style was a classic/romantic but most of the time i just wear sweatpants cause of my job and I wear business wear for work lol 😂 I definitely need my whole wardrobe redone! I dress really good for my body shape but I dont have a signature style.
It can take time to develop a signature style and a lot of time to revamp your wardrobe. Just go slowly, and start trying to line up your lifestyle needs (including sweatpants) with your personal style goals. I find being really strategic with those purchases can help!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign thank you!! I Love dressing for my shape Now! Like Personally I lovee the Gamine and Ingenue style but it doesnt flatter my body or facial features at all. Its like I love it on other people but not myself! i came out soft romantic and soft classic!
Hey Gabrielle! Thanks for super informative video! Could you make a video about summer wear for different kibbe/essences? I think I’m a dramatic classic with dramatic/etherial essence and I find that I look quiet messy in most summer pieces. HELP! And thanks in advance ❤️
the smartest channel about this and the informations are accurate with the sources, well done Gabi! I am so critical but of you I become a fan! Great and entertaining content. small sidenote, and im no ways skilled in makeup, but I notice that your lipstick looks sometimes not right, maybe the shine??? in snother video maybe too much brown in a shade and shine? Im the last person that knows what to do here lol. You find out, Im sure. I dont care that much, you are the one channel I really think is good accurate information yet relaxed and fun. keep up the good work, impressive 👍🤩 also everything so well edited and the visuals are great too I love all of this!😻
I agree my lipstick looks off in some videos. I usually color correct or add a lut/ colorfilter to these videos- so lipsticks that look ok in person sometimes look off on film. Haven’t figured this out yet 🙃 I appreciate your comment and I’m so glad you like the channel, means a lot
I also thought, ist probably not easy to make good light to film this. and I know when I take a fotography of my lipstick to send it to a friend it always comes out somewhat wrong too. guess what I watched just now lol, proportions. super interesting, thx again @@Gabriellearrudadesign

I've had a lot of different "stops" on my own style journey (especially since it's come during the pandemic!) - but right now, my best guess is that I'm a Kibbe Soft Gamine, soft summer coloring, with a classic-ingenue (and maybe a touch of romantic?) essence.
Definitely agree! It should always be evolving with you and serve your current lifestyle 🥰🥰

I am a teacher so I think that helps with being comfortable and the playfulness I have (I am that way on the weekends too) How do you recommend getting fashion inspired by cartoons/tv and translating well to a person? For example, I’ve had a French fry purse that I loved because it was cute but everyone agreed that it did not match any of my outfits. How do I include playfulness while still looking put together and keeping that “romantic and pretty look?” Maybe it can be color?
How do I discover this? I took the seasonal color test.

I have been taking outfit pictures for about 8 months now and I’ve decided to take action with my style because even though the elements are there, I don’t like where it is at the moment.
This leads to wearing a lot of “bulky” items that weigh me down.

your channel has instantly become one of my favorites!! i love this. its such a journey finding and maintaining some sense of style through all of lifes changes. ive totally lost my identity after becoming a mom and am excited to rediscover how to present myself to the world.
here are my types, looking forward to seeing some real life examples in your next video!
kibbe type - dramatic
essences - classic, natural
season.- dark autumn
lifestyle - homesteading mom of two youngins (i dont get to wear fancy dresses and nice shoes often)
style/vibe - i feel confident in sleek but comfortable clothing like high waisted jeans with tight tucked in tops, or band tshirts, minimal jewelry, and cute but functional shoes like chelsea boots or vans. for fancier looks im inspired by vintage, nature, forests, hobbits, boho, but i cannot pull off loose flowy anything.
I use the trick which I stole from the old-time actress (she did it in the movie). She casually flipped through a magazine, and covered the faces of the models with the back of her palm (probably to imagine herself in their place). This trick helped me to find great outfits for myself. It's still my favorite way to maintain my style.
Fun technique! Thanks for sharing

Well this is so old but in case you’re making a new list for anything…
My issue is that I have two distinct styles both of which I love.
Kibbie: dramatic classic
I’m a bit clueless about Kitchener.
Always adding to the list 👍🏻
Another great video! Here are my descriptions:
Kibbe DC, Ethereal-Dramatic-Natural-Classic essences (25% each, according Truth is Beauty system calculator), best colors are dark and muted, study and work in rather informal environments.
Some items of my board, quite tricky to define the vibe succintly 😁
An Amazonian Shaman, a self-portrait of Artemisia Gentileschi playing lute, Samothrace Victory, Ellaria Sand from GoT, Pat Cleveland in a glam flowy dress, a nautilus with lines demonstrating its mathematical proportions, a work from M. C. Escher.
My adjectives: powerful, intriguing, graceful
You've hit 15k, congrats!!!!!!!!
Thank you so much!! 🥰🥰
really enjoying your channel so far! excited to see what other ideas you have about fashion.

Ah thank you! And welcome 🤗
Thank you for all the info!! 👍🏻
@@Gabriellearrudadesign I'm sure it's a bit too much, but you are one of the people who has helped me to compile this and to have a little more confidence. Thank you!
@@AlexLouiseWest No, I love it and added to my list! It’s great specifics for the example creations!
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Gosh, thank you!
kibbe: Natural i think
style essense: ethereal
3 adjectives: feminine, refined, fun
1. Colorful tie dye cotton midi dress
2. I want feel like myself and show myself
3. Intriguing, approachable, and pretty
This is wrong because it will make me feel better every day and I’m worth it ❤
7. Creative comfy pretty (work in progress)
Also, the three word adjective was really transformative for me. Mine were “competent, smart, and flirtatious/humorous.” I never would have thought flirtatious and competent go together, but they kind of do. Like Elizabeth Bennet/Eloise from Bridgerton affect. Really great content!
This is a great video idea! Also, I’m excited for you new little one. You’ll be developing their style for them too!
every time i think you can't make a better video u do!!

Just found your channel recently, and I'm loving your videos!
Kibbe: Soft Natural
Essence: Gamine (I think)
Season: Clear Spring
I've just started working on a personal style map, but so far it's leaning dark, esoteric, and rustic.
Ahhhhhh I hope I am not too late for this one 😱
Kibbe ID: (suspected) soft classic EDIT: or theatrical romantic... i feel like i'm in this weird middle ground...
Style Essence: Romantic?... but I have no idea
Personal style map: think nature and flowers meets the purples, blues, and black of the night lit by a dim computer screen. The board is just covered in green, blue, and purple haha
Vibe: chill, think dusk. My adjectives: intellectual, reserved, practical, but feminine.
Seasonal Color: Warm Autumn
Lifestyle factors: I am a college student, so when the semester begins I go on campus and walk around quite a bit for 4 days each week. Otherwise, i'm a homebody, so I stay at home a lot and like to be comfy. In the future I hope to work from home too, so there's that.
Thanks!
You are so sweet! Thank you! ❤
I've been binge watching your videos and it' so helpful! i am
Kibbe: Theatrical Romantic
Essence: Classic (with Romantic and Ingenue)
Style: minimal, simple, basic, relaxed but still sophisticated? sometimes grungy. Mostly mono tones or earthy tones.
Color: somewhere in Autumn
I'm Korean and also work as a teacher so most of romantic style recommendation wouldn't really work for me to wear daily.
So the example video was just published- but I asked if people want more of them and it looks like a part 2 is possible.
@@Gabriellearrudadesign I'm about to watch it! Amazing. Thank you❤️
Kibbe I'd: DC
Essence: Dramatic ethereal i guess.
Personal Style: office chic, put together, powerful.
Seasonal Color: deep autumn.
Kibbe ID: soft dramatic
Style Essence: Romantic (some ingenue too)
Seasonal Colour: Light Spring
Vibe: Aphrodite reborn for modern day
Factors: Work in healthcare so modest options are needed but can be very colourful and fun.
Kibbe: theatrical romantic
Essence: dramatic-ethereal
Season: warm spring
Personal style board: I was really drawn to divas like Marilyn Monroe, Cher, Faye Wong in style moments where they look confident, chic, and glam.
I love this! I’ll add it to my list. And glad that too helped! 🥰🥰
Okay, I’ve watched till the end, so:

essence: still trying to figure it out😳
adj: effortless, interesting, refined,
seasonal color: soft summer

Yay! Thank you!
I am a total MESS...
kibbe type: flamboyant gamine
essence: dramatic/romantic/gamine/Flamboyant natural
personal style: sexy, unique, playful, silly, mystical (I am a Scorpio sun with Gemini rising)
season: warm spring (I think...I look great in shiny jewel tones and need bright colors)
Lifestyle: I am turning 40 in 6 months and have NEVER been able to pin down my personal style but I have sure tried! Within the other side of my personality lies a Stevie Nicks hippie witch kinda thing (in high school I used to read palms on my lunch break so there's that)
Now I'm about to be 40 and I feel like I should just give up and be this dumpy sad chick who schleps around in baggy jeans and tees being sad. :(
your channel and the WONDERFUL structure you put into it has been like a little glimmer of hope for me.

The colors you wear look great on you. I have similar coloring. Could you please recommend a few brands that you buy from?
Thanks, I really find it depends on the item. I work with my seasonal color palette over any one particular store. This dress I got from a random store in NYC ( i think it was meant to be a skims look-a-like but the color is much better for me than any of the skims options which lean warm). I identify as a true summer. Have you determined your season yet? That can really help over specific stores (since stores carry wide ranges)
@@Gabriellearrudadesign Thanks so much for answering! I’m a summer but still unsure about which one. There’s been some confusion bc of my strawberry blonde hair color.

Colors: Soft Summer
Lifestyle: work from home with an extremely flexible schedule, but I share my home with my partner, who also WFH as a babysitter for some local children
Style Goals: to achieve a sort of early-70s genderfucky androgyny a la Led Zeppelin, blended with a style best described as "retired mafioso on vacation in Vegas or Malibu in 1968"
Other notes: I'm obsessed with the X-Men comics of the late 60s and in the current era (2019-present) and the concept of a tropical utopia for freaks (/affectionate) where we can reassess what it means to be part of a community, and most of my t-shirts have designs by my favorite X-Men fanartist, Valentine M Smith, on them.
Also I love the clarity and nerddome of your videos, do you have a strong Virgo placement anywhere? 😎👏🏼
