I built the rouge version that had the plane and the red back pack for my first PG a few months ago, took so long but had fun with it and still poses like a boss.
To this day the Rouge has been my only PG and I have no regrets. The weight of the Aile pack has worn it down a bit over the years but other than that it's great.
This is my first PG. I still remember the time I traveled to a hobby shop with my best friend after working part-time for months. After that, it took two weeks for a group of 4 people to finish it. It was worth it
The best design for PG IMO. Since I was just a kid when they released this kit, I was captivated with its proportion. Even after 15 years this thing is a beauty.

The PG line started with a very interesting proposal to me: very detailed inner frame, really simulating mechanical moving parts. You can clearly see this by looking at the RX-78, Zaku, Mk-II and GP01 (my favorite being the Gundam Mk-II). Right around the Strike you can see Bandai moving the focus away from those intricate details and parts to something more of a 1/60 Master Grade, resulting in very disappointing details for the inner frame like the Astray Red Frame, Unicorn and Exia. I really hope for a return to those original PGs but with a more modern construction and a 2.0 for the RX-78-2 would be a perfect place to start!

This was my first PG. I built it back in 2007, along with the PG Skygrasper + Aile Striker. It's been lost to time (and several moves), so I'm beyond hyped for that PG Perfect Strike that's coming.
You forgot that the shoulder joints can also move in towards the chest and out, as well as upwards which can boost that arm really up, it can also reach for the aile sabers pretty good. The NG 1/60 launcher and sword packs can, with a little mod, also fit with this kit, and with the aile pack, the only thing missing is the extra batteries and attachments for the "Perfect Strike" Edit: My only problem with this kit is where to store that grand slam.
great review. PG strike still has the best amount of inner details in recent kits. it's sad that bandai decided to move away to lighting instead of inner details with exia and unicorn. hopefully the subsequent releases in PGU line would be a balance of both inner details and lighting. Looking forward to your review of the astray red frame. 🤞
I bought the PG Strike Rouge as my first PG kit and holy smokes it has been an absolute blast. I finally got the mobile suit finished and panel lined, and built the grand slam and the beam rifle. So far, I’m about 16 hours in and loving every second. No regrets
The Strike Gundam was my first Perfect Grade build back in November of 2007. Before that I'd assembled the Lucas O'Donnell custome master grade and the Gundam from 08th M.S. Team but for me it all started with the 1/60th scale Wing Gundam which was part action figure and part model kit. He had to build the shield, rifle, and wings.
This has made me want this kit even more. I think I will wait till the re-release comes out and compare the two as I am kinda hoping to OG gets a discount
I remember seeing pictures of the PG Strike on a pamphlet, one of those was the Strike doing a deep, one-knee-in-front-of-torso crouch. I tried to replicate that pose with every Gunpla I had, and none of them did any better than a kneel. And now I finally get to witness the Strike in its full glory.
I just got My first pg (strike rouge). It’s basically this kit with more stuff in the box; but it is such a nice kit. This video actually inspired me to go and get the pg strike, but when i saw the strike rouge, i immediately bought it. I just like the colors more. So worth the 200 bucks I spent on it
that might not be too far off from happening but bandai probably still got the rg selling hot, but im sure they're on the process of considering it, its an eyecandy as a kit
I just got this for my birthday this past Sunday. My wife got me the Skygrasper 1/60 scale with the Aile Pack 12 years ago. Finally completing this 12 year long project. @MechaGaikotsu, dude...you were not wrong about this kit!
Being an owner of this gunpla, I personally agree. It’s cheap, basic, and very poseable. I personally recommend this to anyone that wants to get into perfect grade gunpla. I’m also hyped for the PG perfect strike gundam that is coming soon!

I love this idea of you going back and reviewing older kits you have but haven't reviewed. Is there any chance you could do that with the PG Unicorn? Wanna know what I'm getting into for when they eventually do the PG Unicorn Perfectibility.
My only complaint is the lack of colour seperation on that square thruster on his back. It's all blue, but should be red on the inside. Even the MG RM version managed to mold that in two parts of the correct colour. Painting it was a pain on my PG (because I used Clear Red over Metallic Orange, and Clear Blue over Chrome Silver, so it took several coats and careful masking. Luckily it came out great.) Definitely a great choice for a first PG. It's what I started with, and I liked it so much I bought a 2nd one to paint in it's regular colours (I painted my first one different shades of grey with orange accents.)
@@MizukiDraws123 i wouldn't suggest that kit for a beginner. It has some tiny pieces, some fragile pieces, and some tiny fragile pieces. I broke one of the parts of the gerbera straight because i tried forcing it in without cutting it out properly, and it snapped easily since it was plated plastic. The kit is still functional, but i'd say you should learn how to cleanly cut pieces before you tackle a kit that price.
I have it and it's a great kit. The movement range is crazy, the leg especially is awesome with that sliding thigh armour. The arm can go all the way up vertically (you can see that there's a part that moves up with the shoulder joint in the upper torso). Anyway, get this kit people. As a side note : can someone explain to me why every PG Unicorn is stuck to its base and never moving freely ? Yeah, I know it is to use the light up feature, but still; that PG looks stiff !
Strike is my favorite Gundam, and is probably the only Perfect Grade I've considered getting. Though with the announcement of the Sword and Launcher packs, I'm definitely considering it now more than ever

the PG Red Frame has a similar mounting point on the arm but the armor splits open to reveal it, and is so far my favorite way a shield connects on a kit I've built.
I refer to the PG Strike Gundam as the David Statue of Gunpla. whatever pose it does, it assumes a greek gymnast impression. It's kinda like an anatomical reference too for some reason.
Light-piping the eyes using a flash is okay though. Next time find those kind of small batteries somewhere in the hardware-store. One awesome part I noticed is the movable shield-joint hinge that won't hinder on poses. It's a very good PG, any plans on reviewing PG Aile-Striker for this one?
Yes, PG kits are major league shelf presence. They can be a nuisance to build, though. I have only one, the Zeta Gundam. How much shelf presence does he have? He makes a worthy opponent for larger Masterpiece Transformers like Starsaber & Ultra Magnus. And even in Waverider Mode, it rivals Starsaber's combined jet mode. I'm not a fan of the Strike Gundam (or anything from SeeD & SeeD Destiny), but this interests me. I like how the Armor Schneiders stash away in the hip skirts; it's VERY reminiscent of Zeta's beam saber hilts stashing away in the hip skirts. This Sky Grasper you speak of...does it also have the Swordstrike & Launcherstrike gear as well as the Ailestrike gear?
My first PG kit (at this time my only one) is the chars zaku ii. I'm currently working on paying for a PG strike freedom at my local hobby store. But I really want to build the strike still!

Long before the PG Perfect Strike came out, you could get the 1/60th 'real grade' Strike and the accompanying Striker Weapons System set that came with one Strike Gundam and the Aile, Sword and Launcher weapons packs. They were not Perfect Grade, but they were still good. Plus I bought the Striker set for $113AUD, and two extra 'real grade' 1/60th Strike Gundams for $76AUD each, allowing me to display all three weapons sets separately. One detail to note: you cannot display all three weapons sets together on the Strike Gundam in this set, because the Sword and Launcher have their own backpacks and they are not compatible with the Aile Striker set. So the PG Perfect Strike Gundam set must have some big differences with the 'real grade' weapons set. To Note: the original 'real grade' Gundam line were all 1/60th kits of certain Gundams, including: the God and Shining Gundams from G-Gundam; the V2 Gundam from V-Gundam; and the Proto-Wing-Zero Gundam from Gundam Wing. They bridged the gap between the Original Grade 1/60th Gundams and the Perfect Grade Gundams. They were also referred to as the 'Real-Making' or HG-Ex versions.

Got a CLEAR PG Strike with clear Aile Striker&SkyGrasper. Only problem i had was obviously the LED and the hands aren't strong enough to hold the beam rifle for too long. Planning to add FX parts&LEDs similar to GunplaMeli's PG Strike. Any advice on how i can improve it without damaging the clear armor on it?
i bought mine and the PG skygrasper back in 2005 in Hong Kong, i only completed mine last year in 2018 😅. Btw this is really my most favorite in my collection.
The PG Strike for me, alongside the PG Astray Red Frame, is still as far as aesthetics is concerned the best looking of the PG kits in existence. Despite my love of the Exia, the PG version doesn't feel right to me for some reason. Also, will you be reviewing the HGBD Earthree Gundam anytime soon?
I think the MK ii AEUG is best PG and best PG to start off with. May not look the most flashy but def the top 3 PG on the market right now or even ranked 1

It should be gundarium. With the aile strike grasper it's still cheaper than most PG's. And it adds SOOO much to the kit.

If anyone's wondering, the PG Astray requires a CR1220 as well. Matter of fact, these two kits have the same base frame.

the PG Red Frame has a similar mounting point on the arm but the armor splits open to reveal it, and is so far my favorite way a shield connects on a kit I've built.

I refer to the PG Strike Gundam as the David Statue of Gunpla. whatever pose it does, it assumes a greek gymnast impression. It's kinda like an anatomical reference too for some reason.
Light-piping the eyes using a flash is okay though. Next time find those kind of small batteries somewhere in the hardware-store.
One awesome part I noticed is the movable shield-joint hinge that won't hinder on poses.

If you ever pick up the PG Wing Zero EW it does have a few problems around the wings from what I’ve seen and heard. Fair warning if you plan to get it
Yes, PG kits are major league shelf presence. They can be a nuisance to build, though. I have only one, the Zeta Gundam. How much shelf presence does he have? He makes a worthy opponent for larger Masterpiece Transformers like Starsaber & Ultra Magnus. And even in Waverider Mode, it rivals Starsaber's combined jet mode.
I'm not a fan of the Strike Gundam (or anything from SeeD & SeeD Destiny), but this interests me. I like how the Armor Schneiders stash away in the hip skirts; it's VERY reminiscent of Zeta's beam saber hilts stashing away in the hip skirts.
This Sky Grasper you speak of...does it also have the Swordstrike & Launcherstrike gear as well as the Ailestrike gear?

Keep in mind on the newer PG's that the Lighting bits are Addons, so those can be had with a lower price tag.

Long before the PG Perfect Strike came out, you could get the 1/60th 'real grade' Strike and the accompanying Striker Weapons System set that came with one Strike Gundam and the Aile, Sword and Launcher weapons packs. They were not Perfect Grade, but they were still good. Plus I bought the Striker set for $113AUD, and two extra 'real grade' 1/60th Strike Gundams for $76AUD each, allowing me to display all three weapons sets separately. One detail to note: you cannot display all three weapons sets together on the Strike Gundam in this set, because the Sword and Launcher have their own backpacks and they are not compatible with the Aile Striker set. So the PG Perfect Strike Gundam set must have some big differences with the 'real grade' weapons set.
To Note: the original 'real grade' Gundam line were all 1/60th kits of certain Gundams, including: the God and Shining Gundams from G-Gundam; the V2 Gundam from V-Gundam; and the Proto-Wing-Zero Gundam from Gundam Wing. They bridged the gap between the Original Grade 1/60th Gundams and the Perfect Grade Gundams. They were also referred to as the 'Real-Making' or HG-Ex versions.

Have they said the sword and launcher pack will be available separately in February? My impression was you had to buy it bundled so I was waiting to pick up my pg strike. But if you can then I'll grab it and start now!
Got a CLEAR PG Strike with clear Aile Striker&SkyGrasper. Only problem i had was obviously the LED and the hands aren't strong enough to hold the beam rifle for too long. Planning to add FX parts&LEDs similar to GunplaMeli's PG Strike. Any advice on how i can improve it without damaging the clear armor on it?
i bought mine and the PG skygrasper back in 2005 in Hong Kong, i only completed mine last year in 2018 😅. Btw this is really my most favorite in my collection.
The PG Strike for me, alongside the PG Astray Red Frame, is still as far as aesthetics is concerned the best looking of the PG kits in existence. Despite my love of the Exia, the PG version doesn't feel right to me for some reason.
Also, will you be reviewing the HGBD Earthree Gundam anytime soon?

I think the MK ii AEUG is best PG and best PG to start off with. May not look the most flashy but def the top 3 PG on the market right now or even ranked 1
