I'd call that a "hand pie" a small version meant to be picked up. You really needed a real apple pie served hot with vanilla ice cream on top. Apple pie is simple :put a rolled out piece of pastry in a pie pan ,lay peeled ,thinly sliced apples in it ,sprinkle with a nice amount of sugar ,a pinch of salt and some flour. Dot with cool butter bits about a finger width apart ,lay another piece of pastry or weave a pattern of strips of pastry and bake until browned. You can also arrange the apples slices to resemble a rose, add the other ingredients ,bake without a top crust until apples are tender and glaze hot pie with jam melted a little with hot water for French style pie. Ground Cinnamon can be sprinkled into the filling mix and baked in, but I prefer the natural taste. Now Chaudary needs the fried version. Same filling, just precooked in a pot but the pastry is done like a samosa ,folded into a half moon shape and it is deep fried. Probably would sell well in his shop.😀 That is a more Southern type of apple pie
In the USA, apple pie is usually a much larger dish, served out warm in slices, and often accompanied by whipped or condensed sweet cream and or vanilla ice cream.

Everyone saying apple pie is from England is only somewhat correct. Firstly, they specified “American apple pie.” American apple pie is very different from apple pie from England. Secondly, many countries have their version of apple pie. Anyone claiming they invented apple pie could be disputed. For example, France has tarte tatin, Austria and other countries in the region have apple strudel, and so on. American apple pie is heavily influenced by Dutch colonists. A version of American apple pie is even referred to as “Dutch apple pie.” All this said, unfortunately what these gentlemen were served only very loosely resembles American style apple pie. Our pie is commonly “deep dish,” which means there is a very high apple filling to pastry ratio.
Agree! There's always a Brit or two in the comments claiming that apple pie came from England, when an "American" apple pie is very different from a British apple pie. I don't think they use a fraction of the spices that we do and there are also some differences in the crust. Either way, all kinds of foods have their origins in some ancient civilization or another. I'm also not sure that these can really be called "tarts", if the bottom crust is made of actual pie crust dough, which I felt was the case when they picked them up and showed them to the camera. That definitely looked like a crust made from pie dough, where a tart would have a fluted short crust. I got the impression from the beginning of the video, that they were actually made by and sent to them from someone in the states. If so, it would have been nearly impossible to send them large pies, without them being ruined in the shipping. The small tart sized pies would be much easier to wrap separately and put into some kind of protective container. It also looked like they were homemade because the strips of pie crust on the top were all different from pie to pie. A store bought or even a bakery made top would generally be more uniform. That being said, I do wish that they'd given more specific information about who made them and whether or not they were actually sent to them by someone in the US. Not having that type of information, leads to a lot of confusion on the part of the viewers.
I think y’all would love some nice Dutch oven cooked apple pie or peach cobbler. Both seem to be along y’all taste buds, also they’re a larger serving to share with family and friends! It was always something my Grandma or Mama would make while camping or visiting Grandmas farm. Type of cooking over live fire and coals. Wish y’all nothing but the best.
If those pies were made in the US and shipped there, it only makes sense to have mini pies. I can't imagine a full pie surviving the trip intact. Producers could have explained that, of course, but they often miss details.
@@dannyworten5876 No doubt, and shipping a frozen pie could be problematic. I read it that they were homemade in the US and probably express shipped. I could be wrong. Can't imagine the cost for that.
Definitely more apple tart than apple pie, but they loved it. A scoop of ice-cream would been great. They recognised the apple filling as it is something that is made in Pakistan to preserve fruits (ma-rabba), but lack of ovens prevents them from turning that into pies! The word 'pie' translates in Punjabi as 'man' hence their initial response and subsequent jokes about big man (vadda pie),small man (chotha pie). Probably only works in Punjabi.
I would love to see you give them the recipe to make a real America Apple Pie, the smell of it cooking, and that taste right out of the Oven, they would be in heaven, love all these guys always brings a smile to my face
I think i will donate some money to Mr. C to help him start his pie company, he can call the tarts mini pies or baby pies, whatever. What do you all think about helping these gentlemen getting more self sufficient. Mr. C would be in heaven, if he knew how many different pies there are.
Some people also like a piece of cheddar cheese to eat with their apple pie. It cuts the sweetness. But it should be a large pie with lots of apples sliced up in it and lots of sweetener and lots of cinnamon.
If they try apple pie again, next time put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top of the warm pie before serving it. I guarantee they will love it. Apple pie ala-mode yum ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
6:55 that's the cinnamon; in America, cinnamon and cassia are exclusively sweet except in curries. Over there, they're almost exclusively savory flavors.
Smart move making them small, individual pies. A full-sized pie wouldn't survive the shipping. Still, apple pie is one of my favorite desserts (especially when made with cranberries!). It would be really nice to see them served a full slice with flaky, buttery pastry that's simply stacked inside to the Heavens with delicious, baked apple slices & sweet, spiced sauce! Mmmmm!
Does anyone know if enough food is ordered so that these beautiful gentlemen can take some home to their families to try? That would be awesome and most appreciated by their households.
If you ever get these fine folks over to the U.S. (East Coast), I'll have my wife make them an apple pie they won't soon forget - oh, and it will served with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream!
Mini pies are as tasty as the large size, no matter what we call them. Those look better than the McD’s deep fried apple “pie.” I would like to see them try a (big) Dutch Apple Pie (the kind with the crumbly stuff on top). They would also love a baked apple. It is cored, and you put butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon in the hole. Then you bake it. So tasty.
I would love to see one of them try to make this at home with the recipe. Either that or get the vendor who makes the meat pie to substitute the apple or mango jam instead of meat. It might help him make more earnings.
Can you get apples in Pakistan? The flavor is so much better if you can make it fresh. But I enjoy watching you experience new flavors. We know Mr Chaudary is always happy when he gets new sweets. Till the next video, God be with you all...
These things make me wonder why more are not making different things with food. A pie being a simple thing to example. Sweet. Savory. Large. Hand held. And ALL of the food options to try. Both potatoes, and apples can be mashed, fried, boiled; and on, and on, and on. Why no experimentation??? Such value in having MANY food options for a single product. Very, very strange to me. Edit: a tart, is a Small pie, as this TPT Example is. A slice from a large tart, (pie,) will have greatly less crust, and much more filling; where the whole apple slices can be seen, as not being jam, yet. 😊
It would be interesting to me to set a table with all the silverware used by Bristish or USA people at more formal meals. I would like to see what they would do with a salad fork versus a dinner fork or a dessert fork. (After appropriate instruction of course.) Same for butter knive versus steak knive (and so much more).

Mr. C would be in heaven, if he knew how many different pies there are.
heartwarming response 💖
Some people also like a piece of cheddar cheese to eat with their apple pie. It cuts the sweetness.
But it should be a large pie with lots of apples sliced up in it and lots of sweetener and lots of cinnamon.
New strategy to end all wars. Serve both sides apple pie. It will melt the hearts of your enemies! 😊
Mr. Chaudhary is so nice saying he'd give away free pies if he had a shop. ❤
I love the first man when he smacks 😂❤❤
I really like and enjoy apple pie and i hope that they will like it
take care TPT have a great week.😋🥧😋
Mmmmm!
Yes Real country Apple 🍏 🍎 Pies, with Vanilla IceCream scoop. This is a Tart
This just makes me think of cherry pie. Nice and tart!
Now you're talking!!
Big difference in an apple tart vs apple pie. Must be served warm if possible, ice cream or cheese is even better!😄💙
All these men are so nice ☺
Nothing quite like a good apple pie. So happy they enjoyed it. :)
I agree. Any time is good for desserts
Does anyone know if enough food is ordered so that these beautiful gentlemen can take some home to their families to try? That would be awesome and most appreciated by their households.
There are so many versions of this pie. I wish I could come over and bake mine for you. 😋💚
But Apple Pie was made in the uk not in the us
Ok! Ok!!!! It wasn't made in the US Jeeze...
Americans use Cinnamon, so it's better. 😛
@@marymayer4875 but I’m just stating the obvious that’s all
@@daftoptmst I read it as though those pies were homemade in the US. Could be misinterpreting.
They would've loved it even more with a scoop of ice cream 🍨🍦
If you ever get these fine folks over to the U.S. (East Coast), I'll have my wife make them an apple pie they won't soon forget - oh, and it will served with a nice scoop of vanilla ice cream!
The 1st pic in video is a real apple pie!!
I would love to have seen them given a full apple pie to take home to their family. THAT would have been very nice.
TPT🎉🎉🎉
Give these guys a cheese sample platter already🎉🎉🎉
Cheddar, parm, brie, smoked,, etc. New Idea!
Mini pies are as tasty as the large size, no matter what we call them. Those look better than the McD’s deep fried apple “pie.”
I would like to see them try a (big) Dutch Apple Pie (the kind with the crumbly stuff on top).
Yes, you can get apples in Pakistan
If I'm not mistaking, they've already tried apple pie. But that's a tart though. 😁
That apple pie reminds me of the little apple pies you can buy at Walmart. They do need to find someone who can make them a real American apple pie.😊
Ah, give them a good old British apple crumble!
Happy they liked it
These things make me wonder why more are not making different things with food. 😊
I would love to cook for these gentlemen!!
It would be interesting to me to set a table with all the silverware used by Bristish or USA people at more formal meals. I would like to see what they would do with a salad fork versus a dinner fork or a dessert fork. (After appropriate instruction of course.) Same for butter knive versus steak knive (and so much more).
