And good too see Mexican cuisine still the closest to Pakistani cuisine with each dish they try. Ad Gul Sher found it 'sexy' 🤣🤣🤣
I'm curious, what makes it hilarious? Does it resemble other words or syllables or names in Punjabi? What are the variations? I was hoping one of the men would explain their delight in the sound of the name.
@@Olive_O_Sudden Difficult to explain unless you speak Punjabi. There are comedic words, slang, similarities to funny Punjabi words etc etc. Plus the 'chummi' bit which an affectionate word for kiss which they played with. Even I laugh at it every time I see the word and I do what they did!

The chimichanga technically isn't a Mexican dish because it was invented in Tucson, Arizona, at El Charro restaurant in the 1950s (some debate this, but it is the most accepted origin story). Anyway, I live in Tucson and we do have a lot of foods here that are Mexican inspired, but Arizona born (like Sonoran hot dogs, too).
The origin story I heard was on a Bourdain episode. They said the burrito fell in the fryer and the chef stifled a curse and said Chimichanga! instead.
I'm in Phoenix, and around here we claim it was invented by Macayo's restaurant. 😄 Either way, it's an Arizona food. I remember a few years back, there was a petition to make it Arizona's official dish, but it never came to anything.

Menudo!! Serious Mexican dish! Very tasty, and made especially on, er for, the sacred Sunday meal. I have mentioned it at least three times, as they use the same ingredients as the tribesmen! Do not forget the condiments to use fresh on the hot dishes by each diner serving. Must serve with both flour and corn tortillas. Same food ingredients. Will be fascinating! Honest. Mexican all the way.
@@kristjiannne so is ketchup, sweet pickles, and miracle whip to me, eYuck. As I HAVE tasted them. You opinion is baseless, without experience. Actually teenage girls are quite fond of Menudo; and I am positive that you have NO idea why, lol. Good luck with your lessons. Keep trying!! 👏☺️
Oh so laughing at how they said the name over and over! That was funnier than their reviews of eating it!!! And gull shers giggles were way over the top!! Thanks from East Tennessee USA!
Aah, So happy that they enjoyed the chimichangas. They come from the area that I live in, Tucson Arizona which is about an hour from the Mexico border. We love chimichangas and prepare them many ways. Chicken and cheese, shredded beef and cheese, ground beef and cheese, refried beans and cheese, etc. I would love for them all to be able to try a really well-made Chile Relleno. They are so delicious, mild green chili pepper stuffed with cheese then dipped in a batter of mostly egg and slowly fried to cook through. Yum.
That warmed my heart finding how entertained these men are by the word chimichanga. Isn't it amazing how our cultural differences, the very things that make our lives so different, can bring us joy! 🎉🥰🥲☺... maybe we all are not as different as we may initially seem.
Mr Chaudry asked about other Mexicans foods. Can you get them to try stuff like burritos, quesadilla, nachos with guac and salsa please. That would be interesting to watch.
The dish is actually American. “Monica Flin, the founder of the Tucson, Arizona, restaurant El Charro Café (est. 1922), accidentally dropped a burrito into the deep-fat fryer in the early 1950s.[7] She immediately began to utter a Spanish profanity beginning "chi..." (chingada),[original research?] but quickly stopped herself and instead exclaimed chimichanga, a Spanish equivalent of "thingamajig".[12] Knowledge and appreciation of the dish spread slowly outward from the Tucson area, with popularity elsewhere accelerating in recent decades. Though the chimichanga is now found as part of the Tex-Mex cuisine, its roots within the U.S. are mainly in Tucson, Arizona.”
If someone accidentally dropped a burrito into a fryer, wouldn't they get themselves burned and the burrito itself fall apart in the fryer? I can't imagine someone "accidentally" dropping something into a fryer without at least knowing that it's going to cause the grease to be tainted with ingredients
@@Awood2207 I’m just quoting an article I found. It didn’t say the burrito cooked well and gave her the idea. She just stopped herself from swearing. I guess the rest came later, after she fished it out of the derp fryer.
This is not Tex mex or Southwest. Usually much, much bigger, eaten with a knife and fork. Side of refried pinto beans, Spanish rice, guacamole and sour cream. And deep fried so much, that it doesn't look like a tortilla. It's in a dough that is fried. 😂
They should try my favorite Mexican dish . . . Chile Relleno . . . stuffed mild green peppers, battered, and deep fried . . . much tastier than a chimichanga . . . we use poblano peppers in Texas . . .
Even though this isn’t close to a traditional chimichanga, good effort on the TBT chef for trying. The guys loved them. Tahir’s marital advice was priceless as was his medical advice. UA-cam doesn’t get any better than this, however the music did become annoying.
It's generally served with cheese(either white or yellow) over it with refried beans, rice and a very small salad of lettuce and tomatoes. Some places serve a small serving of guacamole too.
They need a do over, with a better recope. A Chimichanga is very large, and requires a knife and firk yo eat it with. It's usually served on top of lettuce, with some sour cream, guacamole, and salsa. Never served with ketchup.😊
Do they actually have katsup or do they think that's what Americans call all sauce? I was wondering because they call various dips curry. May be a translation issue
Gave me such a laugh 😂 it's a funny name 😂 I'm so happy eating mexican American dishes ❤😊 I love there humble reactions, gives me joy especially their laugh ❤️❤️🤣 🇲🇽
The Chimi is what I eat at every Mexican restaurant, but no matter where I order the chicken Chimichanga to see how each place makes it. Hardly ever the same, but hardly different as well. But they are generally served - always - with sour cream and guacamole - not Ketchup. Yuck. I always use my favorite hot sauce Tapatio
Some restaurants also serve another version of chimichanga. Which is very large and served on a dinner plate and is so big it has to be eaten with a fork and knife. It also is very delicious 🤤😍👍🥳🌷
Making something similar would be easy. Use a cooked curry and a thin flexible wheat flatbread. Tortillas have shortening or butter and are rolled with a rolling pin which makes them hold together and not tear easily. A good rolling up tortilla has a slightly leathery feel after toasting on a dry griddle. If the curry is very wet add a little cooked rice in the bread with the filling. The trick is the folding. Make a log shape of the filling that is a little off center and a finger wideness from any short edge. Fold into the short ends of the log sides of the bread and hold while turning the narrower side towards the wide one in a tight roll but don't squeeze the filling out. You now have a burrito. Place seam side down in a pan with hot oil to set the seam and gently turn to brown all sides and you have a chimichanga. The burritos stage can also be laid seam down in a baking dish and melty cheese sauce poured over it and baked til hot and bubbly for a decadent treat you should only eat on a special occasion. This is very delicious with a very onion loaded filling, but definitely not to be eaten every day. lol. Other rolled things I like are Cabbage Rolls which is a "grandma recipe" in the US and stuffed grape leaves which is Greek. Mexican Tamales are very delicious but I don't know if you can get them or the ingredients in your country.
The guys never fail to make me smile, thank you.
