GRANTTGM i think white star may have mentioned how technically speaking the ship could not sink with its system in place to take on water and remain afloat. The media probably ran with this and the unsinkable claim was the headline.
Hardly a mystery why they are far apart. It broke into two pieces and the front and back of the ship were more aerodynamic so both pieces sank not straight down but at an angle in opposite directions.
Saraneth this is close. The bow was hydrodynamic, so it sank nearly straight down at first and then plateud outward as it picked up speed. The stern sank open end first, so as it went down it blww apart and spiraled to the bottom
you can't disprove that, checkmate atheists! jk yeah that was pretty obvious. Even a soap dropped in a tub wont fall straight down due to its shape, i think...
And to think that sadly in 2023 the Titanic has now claimed even more lives with the missing submersible, including OceanGates' own CEO, seems like some sort of curse
It's not a mystery why the two parts are so far apart. The Titanic weighed 52k tons, when it split and sank the parts cut through the water very quickly at different Angles.
Also, the bow half sank slowly and had time to thoroughly flood. The stern half sank rapidly after the ship broke in two, leaving a lot of air in the stern half. That air is why the stern half is in such bad shape: the stern half imploded. But also the shape of the stern half and the air trapped inside caused the stern half to corkscrew towards the bottom.
Scribbled Riddles the entire planet is a graveyard, several trillion people have lived and died everywhere, and skeletal remains have assuredly already been eaten by all manner of fish and bacteria at the sea floor. I wouldn't worry about it
I was lucky enough to see a hull door on display at a Titanic Exhibit. I don't agree on raising the entire thing but small sections of the ship (to me) are fair game. It's a piece of human history that will eventually disappear forever
I would love to see at least one piece of the ship. I know that I'll never get to see the wreck, so I would like to see at least what has been raised of the ship.
So when it sank, the reason the bow and stern are so far apart is because when it snapped in half, the stern literally was floating for a few minutes and many there thought that it would float, but it then went down and then started doing several 360's and landed and in the oppisite direction of the bow of the ship.
