Basic Wheelchair Etiquette

Hi! We’re Mila and Kirsten, Therapist Assistant students at Okanagan College. We’re going to be talking about appropriate ways to interact with wheelchair users in order to be as inclusive as possible. We believe this is an important topic for those of every age because at some point in your life, you will interact with a wheelchair user. We hope that this video will be an educational tool to help you increase your awareness of those who are in a wheelchair. In our experience, this information isn’t something that is taught in most schools. We learned a lot of these tips in our program, and find them to be helpful so we want to share them with you!
