Kristine, searching google until my memory jogged and I found “ewe” was such a happy outcome. Watching your blog was like reconnecting with a friend from long ago. You came to mind when I was comparing knitting needles before ordering replacements and I remembered the detailed reviews you shared with regard to material, point sharpness, etc. I could see in your eyes that a lot has happened in the three years since I last visited your channel. My eyes watered as I thought how many changes occurred in my life too. Happy for you to open yourself to finding Summer and the joy she brings. My iPad keeps jolting me with photos (unbidden) of a beloved cat who died in 2022 and our eldest son who suddenly died in December, 2021. When I see these images I keep thinking that it is less painful (and maybe it is). Anyway, just wanted to tell you that you are a welcome presence in the world of crafting and life.

Good to see you back. We share hobbies/stuff. Gray (I'm natural) & readers (one everywhere), knitting (not destashing), fountain pens (rediscovering... found one of many...and bought more in place of yarn), reading (Marie Kondo....read it & pass it along.)....haven't uncovered the sewing machine in years. I'm glad you're well and back (I lost you tube for months )(I did something wrong, update issue) (didn't miss). Be well always!!!!.

Hi Kristine. Great to see you again. I don’t know how I missed this video. I saw your Christmas gift video that came out yesterday and realized I missed this one. I’m glad to hear that you were able to work out your classes using Zoom. All of my hearings and client visits have been on Zoom except 1 I had last month. We had to go in to court and I wasn’t happy. But it worked out fine. I’m also glad to hear that your husband is much better. Great news! Your glasses are very pretty. Thanks for the website. Love your hair too! I stopped coloring my hair after 40 years in August of 2019. I went gray very young. Perfect timing as the pandemic started 8 months later so no one really saw it as it grew out. I’m basically done now and I love it! It’s quite white with a silver shimmer. I wish I did it 20 years ago!
Love your hats! Knitting hats are fun! Congratulations on your new dog, Summer! It was definitely meant to be. As far as your book recommendation, I’m thinking no, lol. I’m an avid reader but the horror genre is just not my thing, lol. Again, great to see you. Enjoy your sabbatical! Now I’m off to your latest video!🤗😊

Well, I am late to the game but catching up. Totally get the whole downsizing, simplifying one's life. Going through some of those changes myself. Love the new color, I went from reddish blonde to light Auburn and it definitely got noticed. I decided to keep it awhile. This is the year I decided to focus on learning two things, master my CSM and my electric spinner. So right now every Sunday afternoon is devoted to my CSM. By summer I'll work more with my spinner too. I moved my craft room from an outside studio to an inside spare bedroom with lots of windows and now it's easier than ever to spend time in my favorite room no matter the weather or the time of day or evening. I'm off to watch you next video, glad you are feeling better, staying healthy and able to make more videos. Sparkle on!

Dipped back over. Last 20 mos have mourned loss of reading ability, loss of easy knitting for the brain fog and fumbly fingers, the fear of having to go to assisted living for the profound fatigue and weakness so turned inward. Now that Mestinon has given me back reading and a bit of activity and beat back the physical stuff a bit, met people also with MG who counter MD putdowns, I am gradually looking in on things I used to enjoy. Glad your life has settled some. I used Zenni to get purple progressives for about $50, they are totally able survive my falls, not sure my expensive professional looking pair would. Currently finishing a sweater of homespun alpaca, when I felt at loose ends, unable to read or edit the writing I had done I set to drop spinning to metaphorically gather my loose ends as well as exercise finger grips that were being affected. Son called me a scary aggressive spinner... went through about 12lbs of fleece before I got a good neuro. Discovered the gorgeous, well balanced yarn I produced didn't play well with many patterns(14wpi). Would have thought I would have evaluated as I went wouldn't you?Thank you for explaining the hair regime, let me see will be easier to just let my vivid white with blonde streak and smatters of dark brown be and pretend being a reverse Jacob sheep was what I was going for.

Hi Kristine, it's been a while and I have missed your videos.
Glad everything is settling down for you.
These past couple of years have been hard ones.
Lots of missed time with the family.
The book doesn't sound one for me, not into scary books or films.
Love the hair, it is something I've been considering. I started going grey at 15 and have colored my hair since then. Would have to add up how much I've spent over the years.
    Good to see you again.
Take care and keep safe. xxJane

Wonderful to hear and see you again. Had wondered how you were doing. Glad to hear that you and your husband are now better.
Podcast full of a nice variety of non-knitting content. Hearing about your teaching challenges during the past year and your sabbatical project was very interesting. As someone who now has a lot more grey hair it was nice to hear of the various products. Great show and tell of the eyeglass frames and appreciate the info. Thank you.
Spent most of my time reading a combination of non-fiction and cozy mysteries. One of the best books read this year was The Fabric of Civilization: How Textiles Made the World by Virginia I. Postrel (the audiobook is also good and narrated by Caroline Cole). Have you read it?

I feel for not only the teachers but students too with all that this last 20 months have created. I’m thankful for teachers like you who have hung in there and figured out what works best. I always love your videos and learn so much from you. Thanks also for sharing about your eye glasses. I will definitely give them a try as the last time I purchased from my eye doctor the glasses were well over $300 with insurance. 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s so great to see you on here again! You look great! Next month I’m getting spinal fusión surgery and I’m stressing out! Lots of pain, unable to walk and worrying about the surgery! so glad to see you. I always enjoy your podcasts, whether they are life updates or contain knitting knowledge. so glad you were able to adopt the golden! Sorry about your surgery, but it sounds like you are well on the mend! Everyone who is working through COVID has been challenged. I experienced severe tendonitis in both wrists from teleworking with a bad ergo set up and increased typing because we could not see each other in person, resulting in a significant increase in email and instant message as the work around. I went back to my office early to avoid buying office furniture. I read the Marie Kondo book and have purged most the areas. I need to tackle the memoribilia next, to include my mother's memorobilia as she died last November. Anyway, I am intrigued by your study topic. Sometimes being with people is positive for me; unfortunately, as an introvert, being with people exhausts me. I am very interested in your results!

It's good to see you back, you always have such good information.
I'm glad to hear about the eye glass place as my prescription needs changing and I also need cataract surgery. I have been holding off since our state (Montana) is in a Covid surge and I don't want to risk surgery at this time. My last pair of glasses was over $800 (no Insurance) so I didn't want to get glasses and then have the surgery and not need them. With the online option I can afford to get glasses to tide me over until I feel ready for the cataract surgery. Thanks again.

So so great to see you again. Have been concerned about you, so thank you for updating us. So glad your and your husband's medical issues are resolved and that you ended up with Summer. I have family member educators and you get high praises for working through such tough circumstances. I hadn't seen your gorgeous silver hair before and immediately thought this colour is perfect for you -- it looks so natural and I think allows you to wear more colours. I understand about having to pick your favourite hobbies and let some go. I recently realized that life is too short to learn and do everything I want to, so I better shorten the list and find more contentment in the long run. Really hope you will be able to do more videos, but always put your health first and that includes mental health. You've been through a lot in the last while so be kind to yourself.

Lovely to see and chat with you.....you did hear me answering you and commenting? I had three pugs....Dad, Mom and baby Charlie. Max was almost 16 and Angelina was 15. They passed within a month of each other. So difficult! Charlie is 12 and never leaves my side. Sorry for your loss. I'm trying to be a minimalist knitter too. I was searching for something to listen to and up popped The Wind in the Willows. It had been years since I last read the adventures of Mr. Toad, Ratty, Mole and Badger. Such wonderful language. So glad to see you back. I so enjoy your podcast! I never would have found the wonderful Laundress wool wash if I had not seen your testing. Life has been off kilter for all of us this past year and a half. I also went through all of my stash. I had storage boxes full of yarn that I had purchased when I first started knitting yearsssssss ago. So it was no longer yarn I enjoyed knitting with. Almost all of it was acrylic which is a great yarn for certain projects. A local church group makes projects for various charities and was thrilled to get it. My hair is also going Gray. Since my hair is a dirty blond color it looks like I have been putting in strands of highlites. Win win.

I was thinking last week that I would maybe write you from my university email (I'm a psych faculty member at Northcentral University and a couple of times gave my students the link to your video on positive psychology and knitting) to your university email. I am on leave from my university at the moment (my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer in February and passed away in July). I teach only online and I'm missing out but I'm also grateful I have a couple more months on the leave. I've just started knitting seriously again (it was hard to knit while he was ill) so I'm so glad that you're back. Your research sounds fascinating too!

@@EweUniversity Thank you so much, Kristine. He was really a lovely guy and it's been a thing trying to figure out who I am without him. Knitting, sewing, teaching, and working on his legacy in our corner of psychology have been helping. But so is binge-watching knitting podcasts, so I'm so glad to see you back!

So nice to see you back. I’m also a psych professor, but went entirely virtual last year. Now we’re back to face-to-face, with both a vaccine and mask mandate, and our Covid numbers have been very low (thank goodness!).
I started doing more cross stitch during the pandemic and have lost a bit of my knitting mojo. It might be because I rarely went out for a year, so my knitted garments have laid dormant.

Hi Virginia -- great to hear from you! Yes, my university is the same with the mandates and fairly low cases. Fingers crossed. I'm so hoping we can have some kind of normal in the spring semester. Cross stitch is becoming more popular among people I know, maybe for the same reason. 💜

Woo-hoo! So good to see you again! I was afraid you would stop vlogging after the covid interruption. I get attached to vloggers, and then they stop, and I worry that something bad has happened to them. Would love a fountain pen review, and glad for you to get decluttered-those things in the closet can weigh on your mind. I'm knitting socks for my husband. They're cabled, and I'm having trouble with the yarn separating so I don't pick up all the threads-very frustrating. Also crocheting a pocket scarf for my aunt-nice to do while listening to audiobooks.

Hi Susan -- great to hear from you! Ooohhh, I used to read all of Stephen King's books when I was younger, like in my 20's. I had to stop with Misery because it was too gross. 😨 Frankenstein made me so sad! He was created and then no one liked him -- rejection. 😢 By the way, how did you like The Shining?

Lovely to see you again. As an educator, last year was really tough on me, too, mainly because in my country we don’t have the infrastructure for successful online teaching. Many of my students have only a phone and a poor internet connection and even the supposedly good internet couldn’t cope with the traffic. But now back to mainly in person teaching. Love your new dog and your hair looks great.
