Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
I purchased this humidifier yesterday prior to seeing your video. I had had enough of this thick humid air in my house! Humidity level was almost 80%. I've had it running about 13 hours and have emptied the reservoir TWICE! I let it run overnight. The unit turned itself off due to full bucket. I went from 78% humidity to 54% so far. None of my windows had condensation this morning. ANYWAY. This is not a product review video but thank you so much for going through every aspect of how to use and maintain this product. VERY HELPFUL!!!
SPOT ON Review…. Covered every single angle. Mines also stopped collecting water but using your suggestion it’s back up & running. Keep ‘em coming!
great video ,well thought out . I bought one last week at Costco hope it lasts. and thanks for the mode explanations.
Bought this same unit last year, also from Costco. I lost manual and your video was extremely helpful. Never knew about the water filter’s maintenance and your step by step instructions helped me immensely. 😊
Excellent review. Very comprehensive and informative!
Your video is excellent! This is the first time that I have ever seen your channel and I am so very thankful for finding you. I just bought this unit and was feeling a bit overwhelmed and also feeling apprehensive about my purchase. However after watching your video, I believe that the reviews that said they had problems with leaking is because they didn’t hook up properly. Too bad they didn’t see your video first!
I have Liked & subscribed & I will share ! Thank You!
You are very kind. Thank you for the encouragement!
Thank you for making this video. You took time to go through it all. I appreciated that very much. You answered all of my questions and concerns. Awesome video.
Thank you again 😊
Thanks so much for the great review. Husband and I watched and learned so much. I will be watching more of your reviews. Great Job!
I have purchased this 2021 it is now 2024 high summer humidity - i empty 2 buckets a day. Still doing great. Sadly I did not know it should have parts that mist be rinsed or coolant that should be topped off. But it works Just the same as day ONE.

@@rachelgabriellabarr8012 More power to you 🙌
That black air filter on the back side actually comes out where you can easily wash it off and pat it dry and put it back. Thanks for showing us how to clean the humidifier.
This particular model is super loud, it wakes me up at night when it kicks on.
Thank you. This was helpful and easy to follow😊
very good video. thanks for the insights
Thank you! That was one of the most thorough and well articulated how to / review videos I've ever seen. So well done! I enjoyed it and learned a lot about this unit I'm awaiting in the mail. Thanks again!
Excellent video easy to understand
Thanks,help a lot ❤
The reason why you didn't see any water in the first 3 hours is because there is a small reservoir near the coils and that fills first before emptying down below. If you wanted to see that water if you open the hose outlet in the back it would have drained some water. Hope that helps.
Interesting. Thanks for sharing!
Yes I thought my dehumidifier was not working. Fills behind coils then drops down.
19 months later and your response is still helping. Thanks.
Does it start up automatically after the power goes out? Thanks for the awesome video
Thank you!
I too had same thought why the first run didn’t collect water but unable to find an answer.
Nice video...very informative
Thks for the video. Like you, this dehumidifier was not filling up the bucket. I let it run for 30 mins and no water on the bucket. I then remove the front rubber seal where the filter is located and voila the water started to come out. Is this the correct way to setup the unit? I will not use the pump.
Quiettt my ars,,,, Just unboxed my new one from Costco after my old clunker crapped out I will check back in after a week or so to update my post
I went to Lowe's to explain my problem as I only have ONE WEEK left on my warranty!! The coil only gets cool on 1/2 and does not condense moisture. Lowe's told me to contact the 877 number - what a JOKE! I expected to get a return order number, but instead, I had to fill out a form and provide pictures. The warranty is NOT handled through Lowe's where you take it in and they give you another one. Hisense processes your claim and then sends you another one right from their processing center. Be aware, that 877 number is a HUGE hassle. It takes forever to speak to a real human being and they all have thick accents making it hard to understand them. RUN to a different dehumidifier. Hisense dehumidifiers are terrible.
Thank you have a question is the fan supposed to blow hot air out when running or cold because I just got one and started it and it’s blowing warm air
Hi. I have one of these dehumidifiers. I watched this video because I'm looking for information about the filter area. If you look at this video around 13:17 you have opened the filter area and can see the back panel. In the top right of that area, next to the air intake, there are two rectangular brackets connected by a cord guide. It's obvious from the shape that two things can snap into those slots and be connected by some sort of cord. Do you know what that is for?
Thanks for the video. I have my pump turned on but the bucket still fills. I think the pump only works for the garden hose option, and I am using the white hose option, which is the gravity option?
Costco has this on sale for $140 now till 04/08...
I got mine on Wednesday it’s running in Auto. Humidity is running on 48% and unit still running. It supposed to shut off at 50%. Any idea why? Thanks
does it work even after a year? Most of the dehumidifier i buy die after 1 year. I have wasted so much money on dehumidifiers.
Thank you, this was so helpful! Question, I just purchased mine today, plugged it in, ran it for maybe 1.5 to 1 hours and it was collecting water in the bucket, but I also noticed water on the floor. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks!
A dehumidifier may leave water on the floor for a number of reasons, including:
Water tank removed before draining: If the water tank is removed before all the water has drained into it, the dehumidifier may leak.
Damaged water tank: The water tank itself may be damaged and leaking.
Dirty filter: A dirty filter can create a vacuum that sucks water to the back of the machine, bypassing the water tank.
Loose hose connection: The hose may be loose and not attached securely.
Full reservoir: The dehumidifier has an auto-shutoff feature that prevents it from spilling over when the water reservoir fills up.
Hope this helps.
I had this machine installed when i got my house and for the longest i never had to empty the bucket. But now since we're heading into march, its happened a few times. What i dont understand is, do i have the pump light on to have it pump water out through the hose or have it off? Seems in your vid you leave it off for the pump to send water out through the hose. Is this what your saying? On its not and off it does?
Thank you for the video but is it supposed to blow warm air ???
Mine also blows warm air. Not crazy about that.
Nice video .. can I switch on the pump function continuously so that water is drained automatically instead of collecting in bucket ?
Yes you can do that. I have mine setup that way since my basement gets a lot of humidity.
How?
@@GoodCleanReviews If you lose power, does the unit turn back on automatically afterwards? Does it remember the pump setting, or do you have to re-enable it? Thanks
very good review man, but what i don't understand here why the manufacture don't build a wifi feature so we can use it wirelessly !!!!? is there's any brand out there have that smart dehumidifier ???? thanks
Thanks. Actually Smart Dehumidifiers do exist and are available for purchase from a variety of brands like Honeywell and Frigidaire. They are wifi connected and are even connected to Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
Hi, my friend gave us a used unit. No Manual. Is it normal for the air coming out the go from cool to very warm within minutes? Is that a sign its over heating or no good? Thanks@
Thank You and Great Job!
Great overview. I followed your video and use the “pump” feature, but my tank still fills up with water. Which has the unit shutting off within a day or so.
Is there anything else to do/press to “close” off water from going in the tank and go out the pump?
Thank you
Thanks, do you know if the built in pump works with the garden hose outlet?
Honestly Ii haven't tried it with a garden hose but I see no reason for it not to work. If you try it then please post and let us know.
By the way, on the unit label, how many Watt or Amps this unit draws? Just want to know exactly since electricity cost is high where I am. Thanks
7.8 Amps.
I purchased this unit in 2023 it worked great. This Spring when starting it up I get an error message "E2". I cleaned the air filter and water filter and still get the same error message. Can anyone help on this>
I have a Hisense DH3019K1W dehumidifier. I bought it in 2021. At first, it was great... now it is useless. No warranty after 1 year. No ability to confidently repair. Dumpster bound. I did almost get 3 years out of it though, buy at your own risk.
If you put it in manual does it stop when it reaches 50 and then start back up when it gets above 50? The directions included are very vague . My first day with it and it’s been running for hours to get to 50. Any feedback is greatly appreciated , thank you
I believe this model doesn't have the capability to automatically start and stop based on the humidity level when in manual mode. In manual mode, you would need to control the unit's operation manually, including turning it on and off.
Does it make it cooler the place?
Dehumidifiers don’t cool the area as such but if you have a warm humid environment then the dehumidifier will take the humidity away which can make the area feel a lot better but this is not because of cooling but the elimination of humidity. Hope this helps.
Is it suppose to be warm air coming out of the unit?
Yes it is normal. When the unit is dehumidifying, the compressor is generating heat as it operates. In order to avoid having the compressor overheat, air is drawn by the compressor at a rapid rate and exhausted from the unit. The warm air should stop shortly after the unit has reached the desired humidity.
Question: Once pump is enabled, does it work on auto mode too? e.g. once tank fills up to a level, does it automatically empties it out OR one need to keep hitting the pump button after every X number of hours to empty out the tank?
On Auto mode it pumps out the water automatically. No need to manually hit any button to empty.
@@GoodCleanReviews thanks
Do you turn on pump and leave it? It's confusing
@@davidconklin7302 Auto mode will turn on the pump and you just leave it on. It will automatically empty the water for you without you having to empty it or intervene at all. Hope this helps.
Where did you put the other end of that white hose?!! I kept waiting for you to show, but you never did!
I put my white drain hose in the sump pump hole since it was close by where I have the dehumidifier setting.
@@kevinkeller8753 can that hose also be put into a sink? Or is it better to use a hose if I put it in the sink?
@@karenfalbo5436 I put the other end in my sink as thats the closest outlet in my situation and has worked great.
What is the point of this white hose when it has a built in pump to send the water to an optionally attached garden hose? Do I need both hooked up to not have to empty anything?
@@jessicahartley4569 Not certain, but I have a different unit without the pump and little hose option, but it does have the garden hose attachment. Perhaps the pump is just for the little hose and the garden hose uses gravity?
I'm thinking about to purchase it in Jamaica. Do you know if it would turn itself back on after a power outage?
Yes it should.
@@GoodCleanReviews thanks for your answer! Would you mind to try it for me? I'm sure the people here in the store don't know. And I need to be sure because I need to keep the house dry while I travel. Thank you!
Mine is setup to drain via the pump but still the bucket fills after a day or two. I wonder if that is expected?
Its not supposed to happen unless you have a couple of issues going on. Try removing the tube from the back on the dehumidifier and cleaning it out. Sometimes if there is some kind of blockage then it can prevent the water from being pumped out and instead drains in the bucket. Another reason could be ice build up on or around the condenser coils that blocks the outlet. Hope this helps. Please let us know if you discover the root cause and the fix.
I’m having same issue … did you ever figure it out?
I am also having the same issue with the pump function not working and I also have the garden hose hooked up on the back. I still had to go empty my bucket manually.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
Same issue with it not draining. I have the pump hose and the garden hose hooked up. Doesn’t make sense
Mine does the same thing.
I thought initially that when the pump is on it won't accumulate any water in the tank and instead it would discharge it directly through the connected tube!
What does E2 error message mean? Cleaned both filters.
An E2 error code on a Hisense dehumidifier indicates a problem with the filter. The filter is usually located at the back of the machine. To clear the error code, you can try these steps:
Wash the filter
Rinse the filter with warm water or a hose
Dry the filter
Check the hose for obstructions
Check the port on the back of the unit that you hook the hose to
If the unit is throwing the code without a filter installed, it could be because:
The coil is dirty
The sensor/pcb is bad
There's a problem with the sensor or the control board itself
Can you leave the pump feature on ??
Yes you can. I have left it on as well.
What is the lowest humidity setting it can go to? Thanks
The lowest relative humidity setting is 30% and 90% as the highest setting. Hope this helps.
@@GoodCleanReviews Thanks
Wanted to know if it blows hot air....thats what mine is doing
Yes, it's normal for a dehumidifier to release slightly warmer air than the room temperature while it's working. A properly operating refrigerant dehumidifier will typically raise the temperature of the air flowing through it by 10°-15°F.
I've yet to buy a dehumidifier that lasted more than a year, more or less. And manufacturers usually only warranty them for that amount of time because the thieves know it!! If you have a basement like me you need one for life. I'm on my 5th brand. Expensive, cheap , it's doesn't matter. From now on I will just but the cheapest ones and give the previous ones a ROTTEN review.
Had two Hisense Dehumidifiers... both broke down right after the 2 year warranty... Crap.
Do you still see water in the bucket even with the pump working? I have to empty the bucket every 3 days even with the pump hose connected and the pump turned on
Yes that’s true I have had that situation earlier but I also notice that it stops collecting in the bucket for the most part now and the humidity is under control so its clearly working. I am still not sure under what circumstances does it start collecting it in the bucket instead of letting the water out the hose on occasion. Please do post it if you figure out the reason.
@@GoodCleanReviewsare you still having the same issue? I have to empty mine almost daily even though the pump and garden hoses are hooked up.
@@TheDwinters12000I believe the pump is for the small white hose that connects to the pump on the side of the unit. The garden hose attachment on the rear does not use the pump but rather uses gravity to drain the water.
My humidifier if Auto dry it will stop every 5 min
The humidifier stops at the set humidity level just like a thermostat will once the surrounding air reaches the set level. It will start again once it detects the humidity level rising from the set value.
